Happy weekend to you all....please I need to ask this question and i need sincere answers and comments. we were told the original Sabbath day was Saturday but the early Christians after Christ resurrection change the Saturday Sabbath to Sunday worship, were they right or wrong in doing this act?

It was part of the law(4th commandment) of Moses that Sabbath day(Saturday) be observed as a day of worship. Even Jesus went to the synanagogue to worship on Saturday. Later, Constantine had to change the day from Saturday to Sunday. So officially it became Sunday but originally Saturday.
However, the worship of God now has nothing to do with the day or place rather it has everything to do with the heart because God desires that personal relationship. So he that feels Saturday is good for him should go ahead, same with the man who chooses Sunday. It is not a prerequisite for salvation nor a condition for making heaven. It is a matter of choice.
So the question of being right or wrong depends solely on you. If you see it from the perspective of the law, then you are in for a long walk with the law but if you come from Grace, then the difference is the taste.

our Jesus and all his apostles worshipped in synagogue on Sabbath. Judaism doesn't affect the sabbath bcus Christ practised it.

You forget that initially Christians would have observed BOTH the Sabbath in the Synagogue (for those who were Jews) AND the First day of the week until the Persecution became so severe that worship took place mainly on the First day of the week. Apart from that, worship normally (initially took place in the evenings) after the sabbath.

my bro. u quoted act as bfr persecution and john to be after persecution. which one came first. its obvious they observe the day even in the new testament.

my opinion here is that the reason for change in days can be linked to grace as seen In the epistles of Paul... sabbath is quite different from other services. if you study the bible.
yes, other services were observed in other days in the old testament as well. but sabbath is a sacred day that is declared holy by God himself. that doesn't mean fellowship services as seen in the new testament can't be observed in other days. infact, after the ascension of christ, disciples were in one place fellowshipping almost every day but stil dat didn't stop them from observing the sabbath.

Because of this, Christians in Saudi Arabia meet either on Friday or Saturday.

Also, no church is officially recognized in Saudi Arabi , you can't even build a church except in the embassies or in private homes and facilities.

read ur bible very well. God emphasized Sabbath day more 100 times in the bible and there are serious punishment for profaning it. punishment like death.

to the thread; I tink the reasons are:
1. culture has been rated above the law.
2. we are now in the era of grace bcus Paul said Christians shud not be judged regarding food or Sabbath.

The great Catholic church is an underground church. Officially, it doesnt exist in Saudi Arabia.

Any church that MUST worship on Sundays must either come early before official Sunday work hours or wait till Evening.

Most churches prefar to worship on Fridays.
