It hurts me to see that while other nations are creating cleaner environment and more suitable atmosphere for their citizens to live, we in Nigeria don’t even care, we are even damaging our environments. Rwanda’s Capital, Kigali was declared the most beautiful city in Africa and the third greenest city in the world by United Nations. Nigeria where we dey? Presently Abuja is one of the dirtiest city in Africa. Lagos is turning into a refuse dump. Black soot is holding Port harcourt to ransom. Other Nigerian cities are nothing to write home about. Nigeria and Nigerians are dirty. Who are these ones refering to IPOB here? Isn't it true that there is a lot of filth in Nigeria? We throw things on the ground even when there is a waste bin nearby. Abuja may not be the dirtiest as stated in the post but it is not entirely clean either...it's only the central area that is abit clean, the suburbs are dirty. Do we need to talk about Lagos? How come a country that was divided in 1994 and fought a civil war that claimed the lives of over 800,000 people are doing fine today while a country that fought a civil war that took over 3 Million lives about 50 years ago is still in a cold war? What did Rwanda do after the Tutsi and the Hutu violence that Nigerian did not do? Simple. They discouraged heterogeneity and eradicated tribe from their lexicon. They also followed up with reconciliation and rehabilitation of both mental and physical structure? Nigeria is just a big for nothing useless country operating outdated economic system. Division of this shiithole is the only answer. Let all regions go their way and develop at their own pace. After all, Singapore and Isreal were ones seen as small backward countries 60 years ago, but today they are first world countries. Necessity is the mother of development. Unless all regions in this zoo go our seperate ways and toil to improve our economies base on comparative advantage, Nigeria will continue to wallow in cheap oil money poverty. |
