Nobody is disputing the fact that Mo Salah is a great footballer. but for football fans to act this way shows high level of backwardness in Africa .with all what Messi and Ronaldo have achieve in football world ,i don't think fans in their respective countries could act like that.

This is rather strange.... He has not even declare any intention yet...... I hope the pressure on him is bearable on the long run!

Its just a statement. . .the same way over 11,000 voters in one state (I think it was Illinois/Ohio) voted for Harambe (a dead Gorilla) to as a way of saying that Both Trump and Clinton weren't qualified candidates. Here in Nigeria we don't have the guts to choose anyone but APC and PDP.
@bolded
There are other parties like APGA and some others in the north and east and they have followers though not as much to win a presidential election yet.

Egypt deserve Al sisi, if not him, Hosni Mubarak
Go to Egypt and tell them they deserve Al-sisi they would break you in pieces. The president is not well supported but he would manipulate the elections like he did the press.

Yes I know you must be one of such football robots.so kicking balls and getting popular translate to knowing what good governance entails. Are you saying there are not other genius in other fields in that same country that are breaking records and achieving greatiness? I doubt your if you could comprehend this so I better stop here.

Do you even have sense at all? Do you know what protest votes are? In the US, gorillas, Jesus Christ, Mickey Mouse and a can of Coca Cola have all gotten votes. It's a way of protesting when none of the candidates meet the expectations of the voter.

mo salah is popular in egypt not only because he is a great footballer but he is also one of the biggest philantrophist in Egypt. There have been times he has single handedly bailed out the egypttian government. Tthat is why he is widely revered in Egypt. Read up before you start insulting africa. Even the whites you all love to worship voted for a dead gorilla

Its a beautiful protest... Imagine many Nigerians were left with two deadly options last December but ended up taking what they think its best.... All the ruling party could do was shift blame to the incumbent and looser but if things like this happened both parties will know that Nigerians loyalty doesn't lies on party but i see some Educated illiterate saying its because Egypt its in Africa.

Egyptians are civilised than you lots... If we have 5% of mind Egyptians have, by now no African country dear point against us.

But what do i know

At last I have seen someone with sense.
Most people in this forum like striking without trying to find out why they are taking such action in the first place.
It becomes difficult for people who reason because those involved will never accept their "ignorant" predicament.

Isn't it sad that that in Africa, we have entertainers with credibility than career political leaders.

Criticize the voters but one thing stands:

It's still a decent mode of protest against a repressive government masquerading itself as democratic.

The Arabs are a little conscious of their political rights

The Nigerian voter will never challenge their oppressors.

With as little as bread and 500 naira, the Nigerian voter will sell his destiny and future to political criminals
More wisdom for u bro, more wisdom to continue to see things from better angle.

Sisi is not very popular among large segments of the population, plus many opposition candidates were barred from running in the election.

This kind of protest is very popular in many countries, including the USA. If you feel dissatisfied with one candidate, write in the name of a 'preferred' candidate as a form of protest.

Here is an example of people voting for Mickey Mouse and Jesus in a recent senate election in the USA.
I stand corrected.
Truly we learn everyday.
I'll not be surprised if we start seeing same at Nigerian elections soon.

I did not even read your rubbish. You don't know what protest means, the people did it because they were sick and tired of Al sisi, he purged all the credible candidates, Egyptians did what they did in protest. In the US some people voted Harambe in protest against Clinton and Trump, so what are you talking about? You are just ignorant.

While millions of voters here are eagerly waiting to Oust PMB........ Way a Beautiful World?
I hope you and the millions of voters here eagerly waiting to Oust PMB will not repeat the same mistakes made by those mumu Egyptians by crossing out names of all candidates and parties, and then replace them with Kanu as your candidate and Ipob as your party.
That's how Buhari will cruise to victory comes 2019: confusion in the enemies' camps.
1. bad belle political letter writer and his coalition will vote against Buhari and PDP
2. Vampires ipob P.I.Gs will happily boycott the election
3. PDP will struggle to pick vote here and there, with no significant effect.
4. Even SDP will perform better than PDP because of support from the bad belle letter writer and his group.
When God destine one for greatness, your enemies clear your way to progress even before your best friends.
