Matthew 24:34
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

This quote from Jesus remains one of the most enigmatic verses of the Holy Bible. The Holy Spirit has provided its meaning, and its implication is that we are now in the very cusps of history.

To understand this verse, we need to understand the context that Jesus was speaking from, and Jesus was speaking about the tribulation of Israel.

Jesus started to explain the things that Israel, the true Israel of God, NOT THE ISRAELIS, would face during the time of the tribulations.

The very first tribulation of Israel recorded in the Bible was the Egyptian bondage.

Exodus 5:13
And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.

Egypt in the Bible is used as a synonym for tribulation. Bondage, slavery, punishment etc are all conditions of Egyptian bondage that Israel passes through whenever they sin against God.

Deuteronomy 5:6
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Deuteronomy 4:20
But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, [even] out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

The true Israel of God is today in bondage

Deuteronomy 28:68
And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

The vast majority of us have always thought that Jesus was speaking about a past generation, when he made this statement.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

We have been wrong. Jesus is alive now, he has resurrected! He was not talking about a past generation, he was talking about NOW!!! This generation, THIS VERY GENERATION will not PASS...

Jesus is risen from the dead!!!

Many have ignorantly posited that Jesus did not know what he was saying at that time, and they always point to this as one of the prophecies in the Bible that failed, because the people that Jesus was addressing at that time are now all dead since over 2,000 years ago.

Ignorant people. Strongly ignorant people.

Now, there was a sequence of prophecies that Jesus gave us, to help us understand the generation that he is talking about, he did not set out the prophecies chronologically, so it has been difficult for a lot of people to understand the timelines, hence many Christians are still expecting a future tribulation when in actual fact the TRIBULATIONS HAVE ALREADY ENDED! How do you manage that?

Christians are expecting the tribulations in the future when it has actually ended!!! Chagrin!

Because we have not been able to situate Jesus' prophecy in chronological sequence, we have been unable to unravel his words, until now.

When Israel was leaving Egypt, they left in a trail of signs and wonders.

Jesus is also drawing from this context to give us the trail of signs and wonders which the true Israel would see in the lead up to their freedom from bondage.

In order to help us understand the chronology of the prophecy that Jesus gave in Mathew 24, I will provide a breakdown here. This is very important because you cannot understand the prophecy if you do not understand the timelines.

You cannot understand ''this generation will not pass'' if you do not have the whole picture.

Let us enjoy the breakdown of Mathew 24:4-30

Mix yourself a gin and tonic, seat back and relax

Mathew 24:4-6
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

This is not where the prophecy starts from, this is part of the prophecy and part of the tribulation; a world where God rules will not have wars and rumours of war or nations arising against themselves. A world where God rules will not have false prophets.

Mathew 24:7-8
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

A world where God rules will not have earthquakes or famines or sorrow; a world where God rules will not have nations arising against themselves.

Mathew 24:9
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

This passage is talking about the ordeal of the disciples and apostles and other followers of Jesus during the tribulations especially during the initial commencement stages; the great persecution of the followers of Jesus; they were hated, betrayed, and killed, everywhere they found themselves, they were hunted and killed; brethren also betrayed brethren.

Mathew 24:11-13
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

This is in the latter stages of the tribulations, false prophets everywhere preaching falsehood, the truth of God being turned upside down by these men and women; we are in this stage now, and because of the abundance of iniquity, the love of many has waxed so cold, so cold. But we need to endure to the end, because it is the one that endures to the end that will be saved.

Mathew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

This is a fulfilled prophecy, the gospel has been preached to all the nations of the earth: everyone on earth has heard the gospel. I made a thread to prove this point

Mathew 24:15-20
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: )
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

This is actually the beginning of the prophecy, and the commencement of the tribulations, the previous verses only showed its progression and effects. Jesus begins by speaking about the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place; then he tells the people that whenever they see this sign, they should FLEE!!! Do not wait to take anything from your homes, if you are in the field begin to run from there, if you are on top of your house, do not enter inside again, just come down and start running; flee into the mountains. Jesus bemoans and bewails his followers that are with child and those that are nursing babies those times. He asked his people to pray that the time of their fleeing would not be in the winter or on a Sabbath (Our ever merciful God must have answered that prayer, because it is His nature to always have mercy)

Mathew 24:21
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jesus explains that their flight is the commencement of the great tribulation. Please take note that all this happened circa 70AD.

Mathew 24:22
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The tribulations ended on the 12th of August 2018 with a declaration to end all bigotry. Otherwise, the world would have been engulfed in endless wars, as a consequence of the tribulations. But God declared it over to save His Elect.

America, Iran, Russia, Yemen, Nigeria, conflicts everywhere. The conflicts could have blown over and the whole world would have been engulfed by one massive conflagration and, going by the arsenal of weapons available in the world, no man would have escaped, but God decreed it over, for the sake of His Elect.

Mathew 24:23-24
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Jesus provides more information on the tribulations, there will be many false Christs and many false prophets, they will show many great signs that if it were possible they would deceive the very elect.

Mathew 24:25-26
25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, [he is] in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Jesus warns his followers, do not be swayed by all their antics. If they say he is here or he is there, do not believe them, when he comes back all eyes will see him.

This is especially for people who are seeking miracles everywhere, you travel miles to meet one special prophet or miracle worker, you are seeking dust.

Mathew 24:27-28
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Jesus informs his followers that when he comes back, all eyes will see him, there is no need to seek dust; as the lightning shines from east to west so shall his coming be. As the sun shines from the east to the west so all eyes will see him, like carcase attracts eagles.

Mathew 24:29
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

This prophecy has been fulfilled before our very eyes. The sun was turned to darkness at noon day on the 21st of August 2017. The moon was turned to blood on the 10th of January 2018

Mathew 24:29b
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

This is the culmination of all the prophecies, this is the end of all the prophecies relating to the tribulation.

Jesus says this generation (the generation that see all these events) will not PASS till all these things have been fulfilled.

What is the nature of this PASS?

When the Israelites left Egypt, Jesus was in their forefront. He conquered Egypt and divided the Red sea.

In the month of Abib, Israel had her PASSOVER.

In the month of Abib, Israel prevailed over Egypt.

Jesus is telling his followers that this generation, the generation that sees the fulfillment of the end-time prophecies

1. The generation that sees the declaration of the end of tribulation
2. The generation that sees the darkening of the sun
3. The generation sees the moon turning to blood
4. The generation that sees the sign of sun of man in heaven

This generation is the one Jesus is referring.

The only remaining prophecies are ''and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven ''

We are in the PASSOVER season, as Jesus helped the Israelites to PASSOVER from Egypt which was the house of bondage, so will he help the true Israelites of today to PASSOVER from the house of bondage that they have found themselves today. The will PASSOVER from the house of bondage into the light of His glorious freedom.

Isaiah 33:17
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

How can they behold the king in the land that is far off? They will PASSOVER the Egyptians and cross the Red sea: this is the Day of judgment. As Egypt was judged of old, so will it be judged now. This is the judgment of the Egyptians and the Red sea; God will arise to save His people and will cause them to PASSOVER the carcase of their enemies.

Matthew 24:30
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

This judgment event is what will cause the whole earth to mourn and this will herald the coming of Jesus

We are currently in the season of PASSOVER, as it is written, when we see all these things Jesus is already at the door

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

THE ONLY REMAINING PROPHECY IS FOR JESUS TO COME IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN. JESUS WAS TALKING ABOUT THE PASSOVER, AND WE ARE PRESENTLY IN THE PASSOVER. LET US ALL THE GUARDED AND ON HIGH ALERT.

PASSOVER began on the 20th of March 2018 and will last till the 7th of April 2018

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

He brought out the ancient Israelites out of Egypt in the month of Abib at the PASSOVER.

God will bring the true Israel out of bondage in Abib, he will take them to their promise land, a land of milk and honey. He will vanquish all their enemies for them.

Isaiah 63:1-6
1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

We are in the season of the PASSOVER, and we can draw comparisons between what happened to the ancients Israelites and what is happening to the true Israel today, Israel was redeemed from the bondage of the Egyptians during the ancient times, and what is happening to them today, using Nigeria as an example, is the same thing they faced in Egypt, they are in Egypt-like conditions of slavery today.

In 70AD Israel fled into the interiors of Africa to escape the Romans.

Today, we have seen the fulfillment and culmination of all the prophecies leading to the return of Jesus, and we have also seen the unravelling of a very important prophecy that gives us the exact timeline for the return of Jesus. We have been told that whenever we see the fulfillment of these signs, then Jesus is already at the doors. Now that we have seen all the signs, we need to be careful and take extra measures to ensure that our Great God and Master finds us wide awake when he returns.

Passover was the time of deliverance of Israel, Israel came out of Egypt in the month of Abib

We cannot fail to see the similarities in the timeline of the deliverance of the ancient Israelites and the prophecy for the redemption of the Israel of today.

Israel was redeemed in the month of Abib; typically Abib is a month in the time of Spring when plants and trees bring new leaves and shoots

Exodus 13:4
This day came ye out in the month Abib.

Matthew 24:32
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Israel came out in the Spring, and as we can see, Jesus is using the timing of spring to show the imminence of his return; this goes to further buttress the point that it is the PASSOVER that he is referring to when he he spoke about the generation that will not PASS until all things are fulfilled.

We are now in SPRING, in the month of ABIB, and in the time of PASSOVER

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

We have seen the fulfillment of prophecy, and they are even dated, I mean, we have the specific dates that the fulfillment occurred of the prophecies leading to the return of Christ.

We are told that when we see the signs, it means he is already at the doors, and this generation (that sees all the signs) will not PASS (OVER) till all the prophecies are fulfilled. take note that the only prophecy yet to be fulfilled is the return of Jesus himself, all the other prophecies have been fulfilled.
