Apart from being under the law, the scripture he even quoted "suffer not the witch to live" means that the witch should be stoned to death. Since they want to follow the law, why not follow it to the full. Why not go to the house of the witch holding your progress down and stone her to death with your fellow church members instead of just praying die die, because that's what that particular scripture mean.

That scripture didn't say pray 'die', it says stone the witch to death. We as Christians are under the second covenant and we must love all.

This is the same reason Paul called the Galatians foolish.
