why they make loss in other climate is because they can't falsify their account statement there unlike in Nigeria
RMU:
What they published is for Africa, they should unfold the 2017 profit and lost account for Nigeria.
Most of this international company make huge profit from Nigeria and use it to finance other lost making country like SA

Nairalanders, as much as I am not a buhari fan, I still need to tell us the truth. Indeed, most of you have neglected wisdom for folly. And this you do whenever anything that concerns Nigeria is mentioned. That, instead of you bringing wisdom to bear and analyzing issues as objective as you should, what you only do is to engage in unwise talks and name callings.

I don't know, perhaps I should say most of you never read the the post or it's beyond your levels of reasoning. The loss, according to Lafarge, came from South Africa; and they even confirmed that it was the favourable pricing (and eventual profit they made) in Nigeria that gave their account a facelift. So why the name callings on the president?

A breath of fresh air. I was shocked reading majority of the response, which shows the never read it or lack comprehension.

Unfortunately, it is exactly this approach that produced Buhari and will surely replace him with another "Buarilike" fellow if the masses cannot decipher or objectively look at issues.

A lot of them don't bother to read because they ARE PAID (yes that is correct) to litter social media with insults on Buhari, whether or not he has done well
Infact they always pray for bad things to happen to the country because the need to insult outweigh the joy felt by Nigerians when good things happen

Even the people gloating and celebrating that Lafarge made more profit in Nigeria are ignorant too,Lafarge made more profits in Nigeria because of high price of cement in Nigeria compared to SA and some other African countries. They (with other cement manufacturers) are making things difficult for Nigerians and they are celebrating. This is the reason why Dangote cement makes more profit than Lafarge which is the largest cement manufacurer in the world. Their (Dangote cement) profits regularly exceed 50% of their revenue,no reputable company anywhere, makes such profit.

FYI.....the Nigerian branch was highly profitable, that loss ur seeing there was from their South African subsidiary which covered up their profits in other countries.

By ur logic, they should rather close down the South African subsidiary and focus more on their Nigerian business....... cuz it seems Nigeria is a better place for business.

I know u are disappointed sir and won't like this news. I am so, so sorry.
There is no indication in the report to the fact that their Nigerian subsidiary was 'highly profitable' as you allege. They spoke of better margins due to cost cutting on alternative fuels. That is not necessarily profit when you have a large unsold inventory because infrastructure projects you anticipated did not materialise such as the Calabar 'superhighway' which within the catchment area of their Calabar plant.

Cement sales tie in closely with infrastructure. Engineering companies did not do well last year due to the poor economy. You don't expect material manufacturers and vendors to be insulated from that.

Energy cost is one problem with many manufacturing problem in Nigeria. However, we have got a solution to this problem at CA.

Oga, check their recently released financial statements. You will see that the Nigerian segment was highly profitable for the year (profit before tax not net margin).

Good evening all.

I am here to discuss *The Benefits of registering your Business/Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission*

I will list at least 9 Solid benefits of registering your Business/Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission

1. Certificate of Incorporation: Your Business/Association will be issued Certificate of Incorporation which makes your Business/Association to be a legal entity.

2. Reputation with Customers: Building reputation especially from customers and clients you have never done business before. Registering your Business/Association gives your potential customers confidence that they are dealing with a reputable Company/Association. If your business is online based and you have the option of customers paying to your company account before you can ship the goods or services, having a registered business/Association together with a Corporate account give more credibility and trust.

3. Account opening in your company name: Having corporate account gives you more credibility and trust from customers, bank, suppliers and other business partners.

4. Legal Liability Protection: When you register your Business/Association, you are a different entity from your Business/Association. You also get legal Liability protection. If you obtain loan and you defaulted in payment, your bank will not seize your property except the Company/Association assets because you are protected from such incidence.

5. Getting Loan: when your Business/Association is registered, accessing loan becomes very easy compare to personal loan application. With your documents, you are going to prove that you are actually a business. This gives credibility and trust and also ensures confidence and your investors or lenders will see that they are dealing with a registered business and will be willing to do lend you money if other terms and conditions are made.

6. Continuity: If you register your Business/Association, even if you are dead or become incapacitated, your Business/Association continues especially when you have the right structure in place.

7. Getting on Record: One great advantage of registering your Business/Association is to ensure your Business/Association name is not registered by someone else. So always strive to register Business/Association name before someone else snaps it from you.

8. Hiring Employees: A registered Business/Association can employ full-time employees and pay them salaries and other benefits. You have the opportunity to seek for interns especially from NYSC or SURE - P that will not cost you a lot in terms of paying salaries and incentives or even cost you nothing in the case of SURE -P.
The last but not the least.

9. Business Trip to Other Country: Another great benefit of registering your Business/Association is that you can easily obtain visa and travel to any Country for business purposes. Even Country always welcomes foreign investors who are interested in doing business in their Country because such good investments will add value to their economy.
