I commend the founders of Farmcrowdy for their innovation and savior-faire in agricultural business technology. The Vice President recently visited their office. However, I think that the interest in Farmcrowdy is too small...6% for 9months,12% for 10months...and another thing is that they have gone ahead to have exquisite offices,chairs,beddings,up-end infrastrature, so soon..dressing chic and decorating lavishly...can a start up begin like this?

Farmcrowdy concept is good like other agrictechs eg growsel,etc..their model is SUSTAINABLE and staff seems COMPETENT.

I think that this low profit they pay out is because of expences and starting with high-end working environment...the staff welfare ,no doubt should at least motivate the workers...my fear is that in the long term, overhead cost or administrative cost will eat up the firm...

Ideas are welcome

Farmcrowdy need to keep their farm sponsors happy with decent returns.

They should keep that in mind always, once they continue to breach this simple rule. The end is near !

It used to be much more handsome, maybe due to the economic situation in the country, increased risk factors, farm produce insurance and the need to keep the company running, I'm sure they had to review the rates to make it a win-win-win case for the farmers, sponsors and company respectively.

The impact they make in the lives of these farmers is a motivating factor for me (after the yield, of course).

Enjoying my popcorn while I await my poultry farm cycle to complete.

I think we need a mindset shift in this country as regards startups. Look at other startups around the world, one of the reasons why they get funding is to attract the best minds and retain them. The best way you can keep intelligent members of your team engaged is when they can work in a conducive environment. The investors infact expect that part of the budget is going into that, and trust me, they monitor their investments closely.

As for low returns, well from all indications, the agric sector is different from other sectors. It requires patience and so many factors that are beyond their control, such as weather, soil, biological factors and how fast they can sell the product.

The fact that not a single farm sponsor as complained that they haven't gotten back their sponsorship and ROI is a serious testimonial and with the vice president visit and all the good things he had to say, I think we need to give this startup a chance to radically change the agric sector in Nigeria and encourage them while at it. It's not easy.

And yet they could afford exquisite offices,chairs,beddings,up-end infrastrature, so soon..dressing chic and decorating lavishly in the midst of tight econ situation, with increased risk factors, farm produce insurance etc etc.

Just doesn't add up... My 2cents

Fram Crowdy returns is too small compare to what farmer investment club offers. But that is what you get when you want low risk investment. Let the government intensify on ABP and you will see FramCrowdy step up their ROI unless they will be out of business.

Honestly, methinks it's all a means to an end. More like provide an optimal working environment for the people and they'll deliver. Establish the brand to resonate trust and stability (much needed in our environment). Attract the best talents to deliver results.

Trust me, you would be skeptical about putting your money into sponsoring any of the farms if they operate with a lesser standard.

I believe FarmCrowdy attracts the kind of attention it does (investors, sponsors, media and trolls) because of this standard.

Farmcrowdy can design and paint as much as they want, as long as my yield drops in when due, then I ain't concerned. If I am, it will be that I'm proud to be a sponsor of an indigenous startup solving dire problems and doing great at it.
