Luckyroro:
I have been following this thread for a very long time now and I must confess that this is the most interesting and informative thread about the Super Eagles. From my viewing of the thread I've been able to identify a few Bosses who are good and I must start with paying homage to them before I officially join the thread. Tbaba.1234 Icon4.s Ko.mekn and The.supernerd I greet you all. I am now a member of this thread and I want you guys to accord me any privilege you accord the old members. For what's worth, I'm a product of very late 80's so my knowledge of Nigeria football dates back to 1999 U20 tourney. I am an ardent supporter of Super Eagles so we are all on same page.

**enters to see the newest entrant Sir Joebie told me about over the phone as I was temporarily away from the mansion on a mission**

In this mighty mansion we have different floors and at the top most of the mansion is where you will find the most talked about halls of experience guarded and headed by the Grand Lords of Chief Icon4s and Elder Sir Kog45. Other top elders dey dia... You will see them as time goes. And plssss take note... We have a special limitless cave just not far from the mansion called the Ghostmode cave. Welcome on board bro.
And know that this is a forum of analysts of all generations. Nobody is too young and nobody is too old here. Some people here watched the 1978 WC qualifiers while I have seen someone that started following since Germany 2006.

No idea is stupid as long as you can justify and defend it. So feel free to share your ideas and knowledge of the game.

Emmm.....please meet the First Lady of the house: Safarigirl who will welcome you with a sumptuous dinner.

Then after which you move upstairs where you have the elders council for induction and indoctrination.

Once again, Welcome on board!

Those who saw 1978 WC qualifiers, and maybe even 1976 Afcon sef... I don't doubt their presence here at all... In fact, I have seen most of you all.... wink

Buuttttttt... I wanna see that person wey start to dey follow football since Germany 2006.... Who is this mystery person? grin

Ighalo is a power forward..Simi is more technical....more of an Inzaghi type of striker

omeruo still has the problem of gifting opponent goals....
he always make mistakes when he gets to play for 90 mins.... I fear for him alot.

for me after ekong and Balogun, Omerou comes next.

How old is Eze? How old is Arokoyo?

Who is Eze to have been considered for the Super Eagles?

See who is accusing someone of tribalism and yet set double standards.

Oga, even though I don't expect Arokoyo on the list but I don't agree Eze is ahead of him as at this moment.

However, Ambrose should have been given the chance ahead of Eze. GBAM

This is the problem with Nigerians, Nigeria is done with Ambrose, ambrose is as old as Echiejile even at his best he was never good enough to be trusted in CB position

If we should be having players in the reserve team, it should be younger players and not dead logs

Nothing to strike fear in that provisional list. i hope it gets reviewed

Nothing to strike fear ba... Well, we no wan strike fear, we just wanna strike goals... We just wanna stun and surprise... And fear does not normally precede surprise naa... wink It is a subtle kind of wariness that does, being wary of what a young but unpredictable Nigeria can do grin

Please do us the honors by reviewing it yourself.... As you be Coach Cruyff and Rinus Michels combined.

when last did omerou start and finish a match in GWG Omerou on the bench with ekong and balogun starting is a blessing

very true, his ever present for his team, we can't discard his experience, Omerou is young and has 4 worldcup games experience

I feel same Boss Joseph. But I just decided to hide all that and just stay focused on the list. Onyekuru was in super form and surely in line to feature in Nigeria's provisional list since the start of the about-to-be-concluded season. His early season form and eventual invitation to the Super Eagles was testament to his quality and he was in line to possibly break into Nigeria's final 23.
But unfortunately, that old ugly monster called "Injury" came and ruined his chances. It is really sad. Onyekuru will be back. I expect to see him at Afcon 2019. He should just stay strong and keep the fire burning. He has a bright future ahead.

Also, Kayode. I feel for him too. But I guess it came down to a choice between him and Simy. Kayode should keep pushing. He is still a part of the team even from the fringes.

I guess we can only wish the team the best and pray for all players to stay fit and be ready and for those recovering to recover well.

It is nice hearing from you again Boss. Trust all is well with you Sir. Been a long while. smiley

I'm well. Crazy schedule this year. But I'm always following proceedings.

I believe Ambrose can (or can at least present a decent cover just in case one of the regulars are injured just as forgiveness argued ), but it seems Rohr is not disposed to older players.

is Ambrose better than Omeruo?

The primary aim of a CF is to score, other things are secondary.

And what will you say of Awaziem?

God bless you for this, it surprise me when people makes it look like some players are allowed to make mistake and some are not, Awazien has been giving far better chance than Omerou under Rohr

Omerou is a better defender than Awasiem, Awaziem might be a better player, omerou should even be ahead of Awasiem in pecking order

Ain't got much to say on the list... it was very predictable. no surprise.. Simmy Nwankwo really did earn his place by hitting form at the right time.. I guess playing in a better league places him ahead of d likes of Umar,Dessers and Onuachu.. as for Lokosa,I don't expect him to make the final 23 man list and his inclusion might just b an attempt to improve the league. but if he does well in the friendly, I see no reason why he shouldn't make d final list..
Really gutted for Onyekuru tho.. injury came at a bad time.. but he is still young.. let him keep doing his thing.. Qatar 2022 awaits him and the many young bubbling talents we have out there..

If Rohr is serious about being fair in his final selection, he must give d fringe players their chances in the friendly... I'll like us to play DRC with this team

Akpeyi (Ajiboye )

Aina
Eze
Omeruo
Echijele

Agbo
Agu

Musa
Joel (Etebo)
Simeon

Simmy (Lokosa)

4-2-3-1

This should be the team minus joel, this kinda game don't suit for obvious reason

lokosa don't need to prove to you anything rather the coach and how can he do that? By getting invited and Rohr just did that

the suggestion/input from our local coaches puts him there.

Rohr don't know simmy either, he get to see there stats and watch some matches and sometimes highlights

the local coaches were actually paid to do that kinda work, scout players from the local scene.

Rohr has seen kayode before now he need to see lokosa upclose that's why he wad invited

He, Lokosa is currently in Belgium , negotiating with a club interested in him. That's an insider information. Honestly we need to give him a chance at the national level. I have personally watched him play on two occasions at the Sani Abacha Stadium. His hunger for goal is second to nill compared to any NPL player at the moment.
And some people are crying foul for including him in just the 30 man list

Not so good, but they all did better than kayode

Not true.

Ahmed Musa - 1465 minutes - 8 goals and 3 assists

Kelechi Iheanacho - 1289 minutes - 8 goals and 3 assists

Simy Nwankwo - 1134 minutes - 7 goals and 1 assist

Kayode Olanrewaju - 697 minutes - 3 goals and 2 assists. (he still has a match to play).

They have not all done better than him neither did they all had a wonderful season than him. All are in the same category.

So, the list is finally out

Congrats to the two new additions, however, only Simy might stand a chance of breaking into the squad, if any will

When last did Echiejile play under Rohr? That should give us an idea of where he stands. I would suggest he find whoever Omeruo paid to make him trend on Twitter, he will probably need that for the 23-man list

I think the seven players to be dropped will be Akpeyi/Aiyenugba, Eze, Lokosa, Echiejile, Agu, Agbo, Joel Obi/Aina.

I see the usual wailer(s) are out, discrediting a good list grin....no surprises really

we can't drop Echiejile and also drop Aina...for me Ajiboye,Eze,Echiejile/Aina, Agu, Agbo, Joel/Simi
