Good day guys. I have been following this thread when after three months of getting married i observed that my wife wasn't ovulating nor menstruating. I insisted she visit a gynea/fertility clinic. She did and after hormonal profile scan, the doctor diagnozed PCOS. He recommended some lifestyle changes for her, to enable her lose weight. He also placed her on 1500mg metformin and that month she menstruated and he placed her on 100mg Clomid, after some days she was sent for a TVS and it was observed that there were two follicles with average sizes 18mm and 22mm. She was then given a shot of HCG but she didnt ovulate nor menstruate. The doctor then asked her to take a two month break and after which she started the routine afresh. she has been on the metformin and just completed the Clomid about a week ago. She did the TVS today and i am attaching d result of the scan. The doctor asked her not to take any HCG injection. i want you guys to help me look at the scan result.....and give me your opinions 1 Like 2 Shares

Cynthiabelle: Clomid is famous for messing up one's cycle. It also shouldn't be taken without you being monitored by a doctor. Infact it shouldn't be taken back to back. I took it once then and my dr asked me to stop to prevent hyper ovarian stimulation. Just stop it and allow ur body rest small. Baby dust to you. 1 Like |

Cynthiabelle: Babe calm down. How many days did you bleed on the day 19? Was it normal bleeding or spotting? Some ppl spot while ovulating on clomid cycle  So it could actually be ovulation. If you mensurate on day 33, it means what you had on day 19 was ovulation. |

computergod: Starmummy:I am not so conversant with PCOS treatment. I will advise she follows her docs advice. I saw 3 follicles which the doctor is waiting for to rupture. But the fluid collection in the pouch is not a good one . let's hope the eggs rupture, fertilise and implant. But if it does not click, I see the doctor prescribing antibiotics for her in the next cycle to dry up the fluid. Meanwhile, u shld be busy under the sheets now cos the 30.1cm follicles should rupture soon or turn to cyst.They mostly ripe at 25 cm and above , though some rupture earlier. |

The radiologist that ran the TVS, after the scan told her she would need antibiotics but said its her doctor that will prescribe...When we consulted her doctor afterwards, he said she doesn't need antibiotics. Although she has been complaining of pelvic pains since after the scan yesterday. Also guys, i was insisting she persuade her doctor to give her the HCG injection. what do u guys think? |

Loisemm: Thanks alot. The first time she went thru these medications, HCG was administered but she didn't ovulate nor menstruate afterwards. I have been persuading her to convince her doctor to administer HCG , she said since the doctor has said there is no need, she would stick to that. Am expecting her to ovulate in 3 days time, so I have reduced intercourse to once a day so as to allow my tank replenish. It used to be like 3 times every day. Don't mind me, I am a very inquisitive guy and am trying to assist my wife by asking all these questions. She is not inquisitive at all. 3 Likes |

computergod:I still feel once a day intercourse is not enough to allow tank replenish, I do mine once in two days especially at 4am then she sleeps for 2 to 3 hrs say 7am before leaving the bed so as to allow the sperm to have travelled far in. all the best bro. 3 Likes |

My advise 2d new comers is 2 use d search button above. U wil get plenty ansas frm different sistas here insted of hw 1 or 2 pple wil ansa u nw. Dat ws hw I lent alot hre. If u r nt satisfied wit d ansas or stil confused. U can den ask. Lyk dis Clomid nw, its usin a search button I gt 2 no is nt 4 every1 & shdnt b used witout monitorin. U wil also c d pros & cons. rvpbae: Thanks for responding. The Clomid was prescribed by a gynaecologist. After doing HSG, TVS and HVS, I was placed on Dostinex and Clomid. I didn't self medicate. The bleeding stopped on Friday. |

Finally, let me attend to a matter I have found disturbing here. It is the Use of CLOMID. The few and honest complaint I have got rounding with women using clomid is that it causes a change to their menstrual cycle. To say the truth,the obvious is actually glaring but knit to it is the disappointment one gets after use. Clomid is a drug meant to induce ovulation, its function has not gone beyond that. Trying to use clomid to balance your cycle is nothing but a matter of futility,it will serve a function of ovulation induction and when and you start bleeding is a matter of how much and fast your reproductive system responds to it. So,when you use it improperly whether prescribed or not you tend to be forcing your body system to balance up with it. This may either cause the one using it to either have a pushed cycle( much experienced) or rarely one before the assumed bleeding time. In other words, you may use clomid indirectly to wake period but you can't use it to control the cycle. If you then dare to use it at anytime in your cycle, you are therefore expected to ovulate just at when your reproductive system must have come in affinity to it. Properly used,it may play up to normal cycle and may not experience any serious mishap to it. 4 Likes |
