I think Christians, like any human being, are sinful people. The only thing saving us is grace. We don't earn salvation. It is given to us as a gift. Now, what you choose to do with that gift is up to you.

Now, typically, when one commits their life to Christ, the Holy Spirit convicts them and they are less likely to commit sins which were huge obstacles in their walk. Such sins can include premarital sex, drunkenness, obscene language, violence, etc. These are major issues that need to be dealt with. If a person has these things and claims to be a Christian, they are actually not.

However, if a person, say, was struggling with lustful thoughts and has a problem with pornography, then that can be dealt with. That person, though, should work earnestly towards controlling those ambitions. Not even the most devout Christian can eliminate sin in their life, but they can learn to master it. The Bible gives us instructions on how to master sin, and it also empowers us spiritually so we can be equipped at all times when dealing with fleshly desires.

What many Nigerians don't understand is that all fingers are not equal. That you can afford iPhone, Samsung, LG, HTC and co should not make you condemn the others. For instance, Apple targets the upper class. Apple is not for low income earners because they can't afford it. In Africa, over 70% earn less than $1 daily. Companies like itel, Tecno and Infinix want us to have a little taste of what the upper class users enjoy with little money.

In Nigeria, over 80% use their phones mainly for WhatsApp, Facebook & Voice Calls. Something that the itels of this world can do. We should be grateful to these companies rather than throwing stones at them. If not for them, many Nigerians will still be using Java phones. So if you can afford iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy S9 for over 300,000 naira, please go ahead and buy while those that can afford itel and Tecno should please enjoy their devices.
