Hmmmmmmm......

I can relate.
I got 'here' just a couple of weeks ago, and there is NO BASIS FOR COMPARISON absolutely!!

Let's keep praying, hoping and 'voting for the right person' for Nigeria to move forward.

A very beautiful and organized society here.
And this is what is achievable in my darling country if not for these corrupt poliTHIEFcians.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!
" stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result" you can't be supporting Buhari in every thread and still hope for a better Nigeria.

You aren't trapped my brorher.
I was nearly thinking that way also before , but I got positive.
Just believe and work towards it.

But don't forget Nigeria when everything is becoming rosy.
This is still our country at the end of the day.

The moment I step into London, the first thing I always wanna do is get on an underground train and marvel at a century old technology .I have done this consistently since I was a teenager,so maybe London or the West has lost its allure.London,Chicago or Dubai dont excite me anymore, because they are the achievements of other people. What happened to our own God given ability to create?
I am so excited whenever I see those train tracks approaching Marina, that is our own, no matter how medieval our own technology is.Going abroad to hustle is like a very talented artist always staying in galleries admiring the works of other artists instead of creating his own. When will other people come to admire his own works.Sadly we have become a nation of migrants going anywhere that is not Naija including Guam,Fiji and Suriname.Sadly we dont even integrate well with our adopted homelands as we still crave naija food ,attend naija churches and generally still cluster in groups where we can still behave like we do in naija. If you dont believe me,spend enough time in Peckham or Hackney in London and you just might see someone driving one way or begging you for money in yoruba.

Ok it's been a while I commented on issues..

I speak not with final authority but I stand to be corrected, see these points

Nigeria is a very fertile country, it's actually much easier to become a very wealthy person, may not necessarily become a billionaire. Now while we may be glad about this, let me say that this ability to make it fast and big is because we have a lot of things which are out of place.
Apart from civil servants and some private sector employees who are taxed from source, how many business owners are properly taxed? If we pay tax the way it's done abroad you wouldn't see Indomie building schools or doing one freebie.

Next is the fact that the corruption in the system allows people avoid due process, do illegal deals and ultimately steal from the government without guns albeit.

Do you think businesses would thrive the way they do in a sane country?

Ok, For those of us who are saying Foreigners have to work their lives out to be fine overseas (not limiting this discuss to Canny now) the sad truth is this, if you are not a professional and by this I mean all cadre of medical personel, legal, engineering, tech inclined... You would certainly slave out your life. It's only few cases that have a different story. Living abroad and being alright is not wishful thinking. You have to plan and be deliberate.

Lastly, while we try to compare...... Would you live in a place where food, shelter, clothing, security, Merit is a prayer point or where these things are seen as your basic human rights?

Let him that has the ability to travel out make no haste but if it is possible think about exporting some of those developments back home be it mental or physical.

I could go on

My humble opinion this is....

You are free to disagree but let's be civil and cout.

It is okay to migrate but even in the bible, the highest ranking or most successful Jew ever outside of Israel who happened to be Joseph asked that his remains not be left in Egypt where he prospered and became prime minister.God makes no mistakes and he sure knows for what purpose he made us Nigerians. If Naija is so bad, wetin Togo people suppose talk, yet the best washmen in naija are Togolese.Should I talk about masons carpenters and decorative Pop works? While lazy nigerian youth queue up at embassies looking for visas the Togolese queue up at bus parks in Lome heading to Ibeju Lekki to build future homes for shelter starved Nigerians. How about the Indians and Chinese who flock into naija daily.
Ask anyone conversant with Ilupeju and enquire about who the best tenants are always willing to pay above average rent so they can be close to their factories in Matori,Ilupeju and Oshodi.Do people ever wonder what these people are doing here, while we keep complaining about Naija?

Occupational and geographical mobility of labour is a basic human propensity and it cuts across ethnic, regional, racial, national and Continental lines.

While you are thankful to God for relocating to Canada, the Chinese and Indians are falling over themselves to set their foot in Nigeria to take over commerce, manufacturing, service delivery.

It depends on the prism you are looking at it from. If you are investment minded, you'll see order in chaos and can even make money from the the shi.t in the place you guys call "shithole". There is fortune in every misfortune.

It's a matter of perspective bro!

Because we respect them and hate ourselfs.
