You want to know your real fans? Do something like this. To say I'm shocked right now would be an understatement, are these the same people typing praising and comments of prayers days ago? am so disappointed, so she gave a lame excuse, so what? SheWrites has tons of free stories here and just this once, see loyal FANS suddenly turned dogs. Someone mentioned Tiffanyj, I'm surprised cause she has only a free story here, the rest is on Okada. I hate acts like this but SheWrites has tried enough

Ayemi oooo.

If I get you right, that what she did is the best way to knw is real followers..

I pity you.. U are saying loyal Fans turn to Dog..

Tink d message is that they expect OP to have carry them along from the beginning and secondly the delay..

Some1 was talking abt poverty. No matter how it may be,if u tell your followers what they need to knw. To buy the story is not problem..

Who want to buy we buy and who don't to buy nobody can force them..

So if u are a writer, that is the way u'll b treating ur followers.

Welcome to Nairaland, you want a wonderful story? Be prepared to wait for months, we all waited just like we wait all the time, this is no new story. If there's one thing I hate, it is directing me to buy a book(which is your first) you promised to finish here but this is SheWrites, it may take months but she always finish her story! This one time and fans go wild, calling her all sorts of name! that's shameful.

I'm guessing your definition of "recent" is a year back because in all my days in Nairaland, I haven't seen a single free full novel. The one she wrote few months back, she stopped and directed us to Okada for the same reason we hear too often. You claim she gives freebies, have you asked SheWrites and she said no? Besides, you're forgetting one thing, this is her first!

babe. no offence, not defending or siding anyone. only stating a fact when u mentioned Tiffanyj. if u av anything against tiff y not take it out with her, instead of mentioning her name in another thread. ain't defending tiffanyj. but the reason she started selling was because she saw her work on some pages without permission . if u check well. av nothing against Shewrites for referring us to Okada. only commented when u mentioned tiffanyj.

None taken, I'm glad we both agree on the same thing. Reasons or not, the two writers are not all that different now? And to clarify, I'm not against selling of ones books also, it's your sweat and hardwork, I only used Tiffanyj as an example. I don't think it's a crime to mention any one's name here.

Re: Beauty And The Mechanic by DavidoffKonsult: 8:11am On Jun 03, 2018
No matter how stupid your actions are, some people will help defend it.
A reasonable, considerate, and decent artiste, writer, performer or whatever who intends selling a product when giving sneak-peep makes that clear. It is called sneak-peep or preview or whatever. They do not just come out and say I have something for you and start handing it out in bits , then suddenly stop and say go and buy it. That behavior is from someone who is not considerate. If you come out and say i am publishing a book on okadabooks by this time and here is a preview. Then who reads it knows from the onset and at the end will decide to buy or not. Now when you are devoid of consideration, reasoning, and decency, it is not something people are not used to. But then they air their dissatisfaction and one defender/enabler/asslicker will come and talk of poverty. The writer's action stinks more of poverty.
Then someone will come out and say it is his/her data, talent... yen yen. Reading is not a talent abi?

Unfollowing the thread. shewrites is a good writer no doubt but when your readers keep begging you for a story and you keep seeing their posts without a word, why should I keep following? Enjoy the story guys

Unfollowed.

As I knew it would come to this. I've not finished any shewrites story on this platform.

If you want to see your story, tell from the start. We have no problem with that.

I know you were referring to me in your post about Tiffany. You see, maybe you don't understand what I wrote initially. I've always followed all She.writes' stories and I never hesitate to share for others to enjoy. Cos I'm reading free stories here doesn't mean I don't have the right to voice my opinion. I've paid for books on that app(okadabooks) several times. I just felt like we the readers have the right to know why she stopped midway and directed us to go and buy. What's a writer without her readers?

Stop the overreaction. If u don't like money it's your business. Crucifying her is not the way to go. It's her talent, it's her novel, it's her book. Those who have money they don't have use for should buy, those who can't spare the money should move on. We don't have to show off our poverty in public.

Yes offence.
I respect your point of view, and I have been following your story, but bringing poverty into it, is no for me, people complained not because they don't have money to buy it, but the way she presented it (laptop got bad, phone got bad)but is gonna be on OKada books, broski who buys that bullshit of lies?

Hope you won't direct us to okadabooks to read the part 2 of your story?

Maybe they've never read any of her stories at all before. This is the first story not to be completed here to the very best of my knowledge, but she should have told us at some point...i think that's their grievances.

I used poverty for firstly myself and others who shy away from saying they can't afford it. Having money is not the problem, but personally, I don't have any monies budgeted for buying stories esp in this Buhari regime (even if it was written by Achebe). Instead I will write and read my own story. People may take what I said as an insult, but It was my own way of saying move on if you can't afford it. No need insulting someone who gave us joy thru her story (even if it's inconclusive).

As for my story, I don't sell, so don't expect any redirection to Okada books.

Since 15th of February no update. That's why I don't like following NL stories. The stories will start on a good note but the writers will start employing delay tactics when they've got audience.
I am not surprised, na una way.

For me to follow any NL story again, I will have to scroll to the last page to know if it was concluded before investing my time reading it. There are tons of other interesting stories on this forum that one cannot afford to be keeping tab on just one for a long period of time. We need to get it done and dusted.

Thank you for the one you've written so far. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Sorry you guys realized it late that she won't finish the story. I left a long time ago, when i started reading excuses about not updating. First, it was scarcity of fuel, then work load, telling her readers about having a life outside nairaland (as if we all don't). But she will have the NEPA light to comment "Aw", "Thanks" and blow kisses.
If the laptop is faulty and her phone screen is broken, did she then use her television to complete it on Okadabooks? Buhari has infected us with the blame game. Nobody now takes responsibility for their actions.
Blame phone, blame laptop, blame network providers, blame the phone technicians for not fixing the so called spoilt phone, blame everyone and everything except yourself.

Now, other upcoming writers won't stand a chance to get the audience who will read their stories because she has spoilt the show for them. Henceforth, we will all be checking the last page first before we even look at their chapter one. All because of SheWrites.

It's a pity that you all have to wait for this long and still not be able to read the story to the end.
Una pele .
