When I meet those kind of people, I know that the room for favouritism is highly restricted.

Funny enough, who is Mr Shakur? He is DD corporate services appointed to serve in that department by DPR Director not government. U pple have presumed Mr Shakur to be more superior to Director who appointed him into that position. He takes instructions from Director, he can't and I repeat can't go against the instructions of Director of DPR. Director can change him from that department anytime of his wish, not that he can reduce him from DD position but from heading the corporate services department. So Pls merit or no merit is at the discretion of the director. All recommendations from the top politicians are all addressed to the Director of DPR not DD corporate services. It is the discretion of the Director to either approve or disapprove it. Mind u, after compilation of the list, it is the director or Shakur that signs it. All of u are here saying merit merit merit, to be honest am a product of merit in my entire life, but bros and sisters grace of God is ultimate. This grace can come in any form. Getting a top politician or friend to Director or Mr Shakur or any DD in DPR recommend u is also a form of grace. Remember Grace is defined as unmeritted favour. So it can come in all forms. I know it is all our desires to get this DPR job, but the truth be told, naija is not a merit based nation. Starting with president appointments down to the commonest job in naija, connection, godfatherism etc is key. If DPR recruitment is merit based, what of the slots given to all DDs in DPR. So u are telling me, all their candidates must pass before they will be recruited, that's fallacy. So minister of petroleum wouldn't have slots, senators in petroleum committees wouldn't have slots. Presidency wouldn't recommend Abi? Pls I humbly advice we pray and ask God for His favour. Some pple can still get it based on merit, but not as I have seem on this trend. 300 + on merit, Lol. I laugh in Swahili, am not discouraging anyone but advice strongly for prayers. Am open to criticism and insults as most of u have resorted to, if the write doesn't fit in to ur assumptions. Becos all that are been said here so far is assumptions. A lot of speculations that didn't happened as said. Once again good luck to all.

It’s obvious you don’t know the man you are dealing with here. I want you to do me a favour, if you know any management staff in the HQ, ask what Mr. Tata did in the month of January, 2018 that Made the other DDs shocked and speechless. Mr. Tata is fearless, bold and a man of integrity that was why he was get 300+ merit on the list. Mind you, Mr Tata and the king are from the same village. You have no idea how close they are.

Time will tell.

Respect bro...
Your opinion is respected...

I just feel like, why not just say; "Good luck to you all" or something like; "Don't put your mind to it".

Personally, I feel that there is no need for people to say negative things to others no matter how realistic and truthful it is because it discourages.
There is a better way to put it and I know that it is a lack of a better way that makes us all to say the negative things we say. It does no one no good.

People are aware nepotism is everywhere... But a little encouragement can be very valuable.
It's really unfair to others when you are a carrier of negativity.

Let me just keep silent going forward till the main day.

*******

I am a HR professional and I know nepotism exist but I equally know the importance of balancing skill and godfathersim. Who wants to employ a dumb chemical engineer or a dumb HR that will make a mistake and get the organisation sued?
So, trust me guys, there would be a balance. Keep faith. Just don't be on the other side of negativity.

Ngwoike is just being TOO Frank.

People are different.

Thanks for this information. I really appreciate your contribution on this thread. Things are really getting interesting here.

I’m more interested in No 3. I don’t want to go into a debate with you on the rest because everything has been concluded.

I’m really shocked you are not aware of the approved list and typing of APLs. My advise is seek a different source to confirm my info and ask for your name to be checked on Tuesday.

Time will tell.

Pls Marvel64, can we just focus on your other information about analysing aptitude test and interview brouhaha(if that would change anything now) and forget about the fact that CoC has been issued and 400 APLs are still being type for more than 3 weeks now (I wonder if its only one staff that's typing the APLs).

FCC has NOT issued CoC as at today Sunday 17th June, 2018. Take this statement to Zenith Bank and you would withdraw money (I hope this is clear).

For those people trying to guess how merit list can be drawn, one day I would explain to us how FCC works and how placements are made.
Mind u, scoring 70% or 80% or even 90% in average cannot Even guarantee you placement. So many factors are considered.

Thank u

Time will tell.

My bro or sister, yeah Mr Tata and the King are both from Niger State. Mr Tata and the king are brothers, that was why the king placed him there for complete cooperation and compliance. Mr Tata can not disobey the king, rather he can advice and suggest. U can be in HR no doubt about it. I as an individual wish as u wish things are done to most fairness. Even the life we live is not fair. Am a Christian, from our Bible in Exodus 33 Vs 19; God said He is going to show mercy to whom He wants to show mercy, not who deserves mercy but according to His discretion, and we can't question Him. To support it, we are pencils in the hand of the creator. It's not the most brilliant that gets the best job. It's time and chance, and all belongs to God. That's why I concluded by saying let people pray for God's grace not here analysing interview and aptitude test results as if we are part of the committee in charge of it. Making a lot of affirmative statements that have not actualised. If u remember since January 2018 till now, some said FCC has give COC in January and pple will be called. But till date 17/06/2018 some are still arguing COC given or not. Some have even speculated dates for APL but none is real. So this is to show that we are just saying what we feel. Some are even analysing interview results and mode of selection. Who is telling u guys all these. Pls I humbly advice again, for us to spend more time praying for God's grace. Now on the issue of merit, once u are invited for aptitude test, it simply mean u met the basic and standard requirements for the job. The essence of test is to reduce or pick the best. But events of life have taught us that exam is situational and not a true test of knowledge. Someone may have been sick on the date of exam or may have one issue or other, that can affect it's test result. I humbly ask again why of concessions given to Director of DPR, DDs which include Mr Shakur, must they pass the test? What they must attain is the basic and standard requirements. The perfect truth be told any average graduate of Nigeria can work in IOC not to mention of DPR once u are trained on the job. If artisans and road sides mechanics can dismantle and couple a car engine a first class mechanical engineer or Prof of Mechanical engineering can not do, it tells u much about on-the-job training. I emphasized on this point Becos of your comment on DPR taking dull brains. I challenge u, a lots of people working in DPR are not the best of brains, it's just the grace of God which can come in all forms, such as merit, recommendation from top politicians etc. My friends am not saying this to discourage us but for truth sake. It will equally shock u that some persons that didn't apply for this job and God said it is their own will get it. Just know that God can do all things. I Pray for positive change in Naija but the reality is what am telling u. There are stakeholders in the DPR and petroleum related parastatals. What of DPR board members, senators in Petroleum committee that confirms their budgets and PIGB, Minister of Petroleum, Presidency. Well let's wait upon the Lord and stop speaking as if we are getting the job by our intelligence and brilliance. Shalom

Hello Marvel64, in my case I don't know anybody at dpr but after the interview I managed to meet my Honorable Member and he wrote a letter of recommendation for me and further linked me with a contact at dpr HQ to submit it on my behalf. I want to know if this increases, reduces or has no bearing on my chances whatsoever. Considering he is not on any petroleum committee or even APC. Thanks

Saw pages increasing and felt there could be something new but, unfortunately there is NOTHING meaningful.

It is really shameful how gullible people could be. The ONLY things that matter now are: (1) Am I successful (2) When is the APL coming. Every other info is irrelevant and junk. We once had a Tamihawt. The ONLY thing that mattered then was "when will the interview come up", she told us when the interview was coming, it came and she left honourably.

You see folks come now to itemize their imaginations and others would follow sheepishly. "one person per LGA. . . ", "80% on merit", "2nd week of interview . . .", "your degree and work experience . . .", "typing of APL would take 6 months (even if na blind man dey type am)" Absolute rubbish! Let me ask, pls how can you verify the percentage of merit when you resume? How does it concern me that you imagined that 10% of children of retired staff went for interview?

Smartgrid came to park bus, people filled it and even climbed on top. After driving them around, I don't know where he dumped them and chickened out.
Then came Fergusson with his 'damfo'. People still full. That one is still parked at June 10 bus-stop. Behold a Marvel64 showed up with fresh account and better 'molue' bus.
For God's sake what is happening to peoples' IQ in this country? Na only us dey chop indomie? If you doubt me just come here and type "Thank you Jesus", and see how many PMs you'll get.

Tufia!
Tufiakwa again!!

Meanwhile, some have already seen their names from FCC and DPR. Some codedly sent Tamihawt to find out for them.
In all, hopefully we get to be notified of outcomes soon enough and those who are available would resume. Truth is, higher percentage of us would not be successful. It's not about licking "informants" back or sycophancy or liking prayers and Amen's.

Will you shut the f*ck up and face front? Did anyone force you to accept their information, assumptions, speculations or opinion? When you visited the thread and did not find what you needed, was it so hard for you to just close the thread and move on? Oh, I forgot you have itchy fingers.

Even if your opinion differs from that of others, learn to address people with respect. The fact that we are on a faceless forum doesnt make everyone your equal. Be guided please!
PS: If you quote me, you waste your time because I wont dignify you with a response. I aint got that time today.

The truth summarised in a simple language. Most people that got the FIRS job are not even on FIRS nairaland thread, most that testified getting the job came in after APL's started rolling in. Y'all should just chill

PS: If you quote me, you waste your time because I wont dignify anyone with a response. I aint got that time today.

Tufiakwa again!!

Meanwhile, some have already seen their names from FCC and DPR. Some codedly sent Tamihawt to find out for them.

Nwanem nwoke, whether you like it or not people must voice their opinion, however appealing or disgusting those opinions are to you.
It's a free world, so take a chill pill and watch how events unfold.
Nevertheless, time will tell.

Guy although I agree with you to an extent, this is not how you address people. Nigerians lack subtlety and tact in general, most times i prefer viewing this thread from my work laptop so I appear as a guest to avoid the temptation of saying what is on my mind. whether the information we get is wrong since I don't know better I can't categorically say it is wrong only time will tell.
