Smart people in the house, what should I do? What if he refuses to consent to it? Will that not amount to fraud?

I once had such experience but the money was mistakenly transferred to me instead. So the person complained at the bank and the bank blocked my account and gave me a call. I gave my consent and the money was reversed.

It was UBA bank tho....

Reason the matter naaa
u probably did this transfer at the comfort of ur home..and u expect the bank to just pull the funds from the customer's account....and return it to u...does that sound alright to u.??
Before u begin to judge...put urself in the position of the bank...and be rational...the bank might feel u paid for a service or goods and want to form mistake so u could get ur money back and still have the goods...
This thing that u are trying to claim happened in the period of MMM...banks might not entertain such request.... U could get lucky though if u try another branch and jam a sympathetic bank staff and combine with a convincing proof like show the account number actually meant to credit that it's almost the same to the one u wrongly paid to

Finally how do u expect a bank to pull another customers record and give it to u..that's against policy naaaa.. only the law can authorize them to do such or if it's personal.

You best shot if the money is huge..and I don't mean huge to u as a person..cos in this buhari's era 10k is huge to some pple..I mean something well over 200k......try and convince the police
u will loose some cash to the police ooo, u know how they roll naa..
They will authorize the bank to pull customers details and contact him for refund if he hasn't spend the money..u could get it back, if the person is willing to cooperate...
Second, if u know somebody on a personal level that's a staff or know another person that is closely tied to a staff of the bank...u could have a shot...

It happened to me once, I was lucky, my babe then works in that bank, she help pull the customers phone so I called him, I begged and begged, lied that the money was sent for operation of a family member...

the guy feel for me but said he has spent 40k out of 350...I reason am say half bread is better than none...technically this is even bigger than half...I counted my loss..and walked away with 310k

Thank you now this is the level of professionalism I expect from the bank...... There must be something they can do.... They too ve confirmed they the account numbers re similar but not willing to go the extra mile to helm me secure my fund

Thank God for ur opinion on being judgemental, u are entitled to it. But I'm only being objective here, u are looking at the matter from ur angle alone...u are not trying to see it from the bank's angle or the person u credited wrongly...all I said is not something to be taken hook line and sinker thing.ofcourse u could get ur money back. I got mine back, some one also told u could up there
