Hello seniors in the house, I greet you all.
Please I need some clarifications on some issues in order to make a good decision.

1. Is it better to book a flight through a travel agent or book by myself through Travelstart. Is it safe booking on Travelstart?

2. Is it possible to convert about N3m to USD at the airport on the day of departure? Ethiopian airline leaves by 1.30pm this means I have from 8am to 11am to make the transaction. I'll be entering Lagos the night before departure. What is the best way to do this?

Thank you

Why don't you consider coming into Lagos a weekday or two earlier and obtain PTA from your bank.I think it's a safer option for you

Seconded. Fake dollars dey o. Then whatever you have left to change, you can use Sulah or any other reputable BDC.

[sub][/sub]If its not against the rules, i can introduce you to an organisation (a bdc with an office at the airport) where you can have the dollar available for you to pick up on the day of your trip. Or you can do the banks like they have suggested if you are a bit wary

No whatapp group but ask away. I know Ottawa well. Also, it gives everyone a chance to learn something new about Ottawa they may have not known.

OK. How easy is it to get PTA? Is it something I can walk into the bank and get it same day?

Yes, sir. You will get it the same day. Walk in into any bank (preferably the bank where you have the naira) with your Int'l passport and visa.

Anyone that needs the DL authentication letter urgently from FRSC can send me a PM so that I can share a contact that I got recently. I don't think it would be appropriate to post his phone number and email address here.

Based on available information, you may just be required to arrange for courier service if you don't have someone to pick it up for you in Abuja.

IMO, that is still cheaper than paying $50 to obtain it in Ottawa, especially if you are still in Nigeria.

Thank you so much. I have gotten it.

MrsWoman, please help us since you have written the CSC exam.

The question remains "do I need to still buy the textbook (if I already have soft copies) to enrol for the exam"?

Please Kazchick i sent you a DM. I would also like to get the CSC prep materials.

Thanks!!!

Hi guys,

So i landed in Toronto a couple of weeks back. Landing experience was smooth. No much questions. I was done in about 20minutes. I was only asked how much I'm coming in with, they didn't request to see it. Asked the food stuff I came with. And then asked me for an address to send my PR card to.
.
.

Having said that, is there a group for Nigerians in Toronto? It can get boring here when you don't have much friends so if anyone is around North York/Etobicoke/Mississauga, holla! I wouldnt mind a meet up.

I am currently in Brampton but will return finally in October. I am also in banking. I really would like us to connect.

Do not bother yourself with the DL Authentication letter from FRSC, they will not accept it at drive test centers. The only acceptable form is a letter from the Nigerian Embassy in Ottawa. Well, I do not know of other provinces but I can speak about Ontario.

Do you know if the letter is still required if you choose to self declare only 1yr driving history from Nigeria? Their website says no, but I just want to confirm.

No it is not.

Forget the shortcut. Just come and do your G1 test and then schedule the G2 Driving test afterwards, you can get your G2 in 2 months after writing the G1. With your G2 you can drive anywhere and anytime. Only restrictions on Alcohol level. 0% alcohol at all times while driving.

I have a US license which after self declaring 1yr experience, should get me the G2 license without a road test. Then I'll self declare another 1yr experience from naija so I can take the G test whenever I'm ready. That's the plan.
