That is not enough reason why you should be encouraging Yorubas to marry those Ibos. We don't want them. Yes! Obasanjo failed, but are Ibo leaders any better? How many of them support Biafra? We can leave Nigeria without Ibos help. Nigeria is spliting gradually.
a united front will help the south politically that is why I encourage inter marriage but I prefer our women marrying them than our men a brief history of how old oyo was destroyed the fulanis were looking across with joy while yorubas were going through a deadly civil war today our constant bickering with the igbos would only slow us down i personally dont believe Nigeria is spliting the northerners are the only ones fighting to split the country through boko haram, the minimum nnamdi kanu should have done is serve in the British army reserves to gain experience most secessionist movement in Nigeria are not serious i simply cant waste my emotions believing in leaders that don't have a strong strategy

lola rae his baby mama is yoruba

So is having a child out of wedlock and having an illegitimate child an equivalent of marriage in Yoruba land ? If it is , then it's not the same in Igbo land....

In Igbo land where Teckno comes from, kids born out of wedlock are illegitimate children and a woman has no say until her bride price is paid and she has a marriage certificate..... You see the cultural differences between Igbo and Yoruba and that is why they shouldn't mix

You have demonstrated that

If techno is all superior and responsible as you say and all the other good staff u mentioned why did he impregnate someones daughter traditional certificate marriage certificate bla bla all this false sense of superiority u should be criticising techno for doing the wrong thing as well then secondly and most importantly yorubas do marry even very poor yorubas do in as much as i respect your sense of entitlement that igbos shouldn't marry yorubas and vice versa please you can be respectful and show you are from a good home

Thirdly i geniuely regret commenting on this thread trolling and tribalism no be way of life things to achieve in this world plenty pass my tribe superior over others i have met very wealthy igbos and very poor igbos as well just like cultism there are certain things the poor and Middle class shouldn't be involved in and tribalism is one of them

How can I hate Yoruba? God forbid , I don't hate them and I don't hate anyone....I am a plain man..I talk it the way it is , though sometimes it might hurt but that's the way it is

I am also not talking about wealth or poor Igbo....poverty is everywhere what matters is dignity one carries himself

Having baby mama anywhere doesn't translate to wife....the kid is illegitimate child ...

Yinka Odumakin that supported Jonathan only for him to start agitating for Oodua republic after Jonathan was defeated at the poll? You mean that foolish man called Fani Kayode that was the campaign chief to Jonathan in last election? Those ones don't stand for Yoruba but their selfish selves. I can bet it that those two bastards can't win any election in the SW. They are so useless. They know where to cross the lines. Any Yoruba that mix with Ibo is a Yoruba enemy.
Simple!

how far are you willing to go in your advocacy? Igbos are a pain in the ass i agree i wish we could have a more robust engagement about oduduwa Republic outside nairaland we yorubas need to pick what we want either 2nd most important tribe in Nigeria or secession if we want secession we need to work with ndigbo for us that believe in oduduwa Republic the two major issues is most of our wealthy people are liberals bro they don't share our thinking this means we have to work really hard to advocate and advance the cause for nationhood the second issue is Nigeria is like game of thrones you need an alliance to break off this northern Republic all this i have written in my upcoming book anyway i hope people buy

I no hate yorubas at all. It's clearly the other way round that's y u are quick to declare that it's mutual without knowing I don't hate yorubas.

My issue is that many times I open my heart to relate to most of my yoruba friends but sooner than later I will realise they don't like me, they just think I'm competing with them. And before you know it, they form some tribal interest group and start communicating with only yoruba even when they know the topic of discussion involves you, thinking you don't understand yoruba at all. But if you try to speak your own language they get uncomfortable n angry.

I digressed from d topic because of ur quote.

I still have some yoruba guys I confide in but after they have proven to me that they are not like the majority.
So true. I've experienced this severally

Guy, I have lived among Yoruba people for many years. sad If a Yoruba man has a child out of wedlock, the child's mother cannot be considered a wife, o! So where did you get your story from? In fact, the man's family will look down on her. God help such a woman if the man now dies. The kind way they will deal with her, ehn? No be small. shocked Having a kid outside wedlock is NOT considered a marriage among those Yoruba people. The woman may call herself "wife," in order to console herself, but when the chips are down, the kind of humiliation & insults she will receive from the man's family, will be very depressing. It is only if God has mercy on her, that her child will be considered for a small part of the man's inheritance. In Yoruba land, some families are polygamous, so you will find that most times the man does just customary or traditional wedding with the woman, to get access to the kids. Anyway Flavour has kids out of wedlock. Isn't he an Igbo man?
