Nigeria is rumored to have the largest number of bullet proof vehicles in the continent. That's what happens when the bulk of the revenue generates by a country largely ends up in the pockets of thieving politicians and their relatives. They have to protect themselves from real and imaginary enemies their selfishness and gluttony created.

On a lighter note, I once read about this Alhaji that acquired an armored sedan. He was on his way to Abuja from Kaduna. Fulani bandits were on a robbing spree along the expressway when Alhaji drove by. As his car approached the robbers' barricade, the crooks let loose a volley of AK-47 slugs at his car.
