General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi took a new wife last week in London. When the news broke, it sparked mixed reactions. While some felt it was in order, not a few wondered why the 71-year old cleric needed a new wife. The church has opened up on the turn of event, reports Assistant Editor (News) OLUKOREDE YISHAU

Dressed in a modest suit, Pastor William Kumuyi and Esther Blaize , clad in a pink and purple skirt suit, exchanged the marriage vow last Wednesday. Guests were later ushered into the Crowne Plaza Hotel, London for a reception ceremony. And just like that, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry got married for the second time. Two days ago, key leaders of the church across the country, who were not privileged to attend the modest ceremony, were made to watch the video of the proceedings.

Pastor Kumuyi lost his first wife, Biodun on April 11 last year. He took the news with calm. He even went on to handle the convention and shocked many by preaching at the funeral of his late wife.

At the time of her death, Kumuyi was 70 years old. When asked last year if he was going to take a new wife, he said it was too early to think of that. With his age, not a few also thought he might just stay unmarried for the rest of his life.

A statement by  the church yesterday said Kumuyi’s decision to remarry was not entirely his. The statement  endorsed on his behalf by the church’s Secretary, Pastor L Nnadozie said his marriage to Esther sparked joy and spontaneous happiness among members of the church.

The statement reads: “Pastor Kumuyi had lost his wife, Biodun in April last year. The death of the woman affectionately called ‘mummy’ or ‘mama’ by members of the church, became a cause for concern for leaders in the church as she was almost inseparable from her husband. The church leaders were so concerned that the pastor must not remain lonely, that they led a delegation to encourage him to begin praying to God to give him another wife. The leaders also began praying for their pastor to get another partner. Although initially reluctant, Pastor Kumuyi later prayed and testified to the leaders that God had answered their prayers. This is what culminated in the marriage ceremony in London.

The statement revealed that the new wife, whose other names are Folashade Aduke, is the National and International Woman Co-odinator of the church.  She is 65. And wait for this: she was never married, because, according to Nnadozie, she committed her life to the Lord.

If the source cannot get his age right how do you expect us to swallow the rest of the information?

People here are only interested in scandals if they were interested in facts they would have found out his real age from reliable sources. If this was scandalous it would have appeared on the front page as we speak.

Seems to me she couldn't hook down a man before now is the obvious reason

Yeye talk.

Pray tell, how are their matters too high for us? We are all equal in God's eyes. You are one of those people who worship the so-called pastors instead of your God.

Is this NEW marriage really necessary?

Can someone tell me why this man didn't raise his wife from the dead? Or better, heal her when she was sick and dying of cancer like a chicken?

Charity begins at home. These foolish men preach "healing", "faith" and "miracles" yet you see them wearing corrective lens and dying of sicknesses like christmas goats.

I dont know why Nigerians are so gullible and stoopid to follow these criminals called pastors.

Psalm 118:17-18
"17.I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18.The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death." (Psalm 118:17-18).
Is this not the promise of the Lord?
Obviously the Lord is a Liar and an incompetent 'braggadon', as the Late Mrs Kumuyi will tell you. He "chastened" her with painful and degenerative cancer then "gave her unto death" so pastor Kumuyi can scherzo with a new wife. Thank you Jesus.

Bwaaaahhahaaahahaaahahaaaahaaaaahah grin

To tell you the truth, the Old wife ain't much to look at either. In fact, she was worse than this new meat.

You know, marry an ugly wife in your first marriage, we wave that aside as "mistake" and "Inexperience". But Marry a butt ugly woman in your second marriage, then you're either Gay or into beastiality.

I remember a few years ago, I flipped channels and saw fat ugly cow-looking women dressed in white and black bellowing out "melodies", I watched in earnest thinking it was an Advert for Cowbell milk. Imagine my surprise when I see a banner that read 'Deeper Life Women Choir'.

I am sorry to bring this here, but i feel like i'm going to choke if i dont speak out against Zenith bank daylight robbery on its customers. I was pleaded to open an a/c with them and i finally opened a savings a/c. But to my greatest surprise, anytime i recieve money into this a/c, they charge me a minimum of N200.00. The shocking thing is that they did not inform me neither did the alert they send to me display this. It was until i checked my previous balance from my present balance, that i noticed a difference. When i enquired, they told me that it is upcountry charge that i can get a waiver. But i feel so sad that this is going on in a co-operate environment without recourse to customers. I don't have any problem with bank charges, but c'mom, this is the height of it. In this period of online realtime banking. U charged me for recieving money that creates liquidity for you that you also use to trade in all forms of say Tbills, Bonds, FX, loan customers, then you charge me? On a savings a/c? Haba! Without even telling me?
Then i told my firend who also informed that he once did an a/c to a/c transfer within two Zenith Bank savings a/cs and was charged C.O.T as much as N6,000.00. That really got me crazy, 'cos i know that other banks i bank with, they have never charged me for transferring money from one a/c to another within same bank. Haba!!! what kind of co-operate robbery is this. He was not even informed until he finished the transactions and saw his balance. How can you charge someone for ;
1. saving the bank cost and time by not queueing up to withdraw, thereby putting the bank through the stress of counting and paying, and then queue up again to pay the money (count again and deposit).
2. By creating liquidity for the bank since the money is not leaving the bank, but still within the bank.

Please, as much as this might be the wrong forum and there will definitely be dissenting voices. I urge all who support this to start posting it everywhere possibvle- twitter, facebook, sahara reporters, any other social network site.
Pls dont stop.
This is not just against Zenith, but against any other bank that is doing this unethical thing. People should know their right and fight for it. I have never heard of this type before and it must stop. I learnt banks like UBA use to do same until they met a customer their match and they stopped. So we must stop Zenith and other such banks. There are many ways banks make money. Zenith have all sorts of charges, but this is definitely the height of it- stealing from unsuspecting Nigerians!PLEASE START POSTING. I AM ALSO CONSIDERING WRIRING EFCC ON THIS. I AM BOILING. so far i have lost close to N5,000.00 to this, within a few months. How much more other customers who are not aware of this. Multiply average of N500.00 one each credit made into every Zenith Bank a/c on a daily basis and see what that comes to.
