BabaAlabi:
Welcome to this thread. You probably opened the thread with convictions in your mind. Either You think Buhari will defeat any candidate hands down or Saraki can never become the pdp presidential nominee. Either way, please do us all a favour, set aside your convictions and political beliefs and let’s discuss for a moment.

The 7 points made below show how Saraki can win Buhari. If you disagree, attack the points one by one. If at the end your points are valid, you would have the honour of effectively ending Saraki’s fledgling campaign. If you stupidly counter with chants of ‘Sai Buhari' or sai atiku. You simply prove that the candidate you support and his followers are unable to critically reason. Are you ready?

1) North Central
When it comes to politics, many non-northern Nigerians are scared of the north. They are afraid of their large populace which will support their candidate even With a knife to their throat. While this mindless followership has been their strength since 1960, it can also be their weakness. The core north is basically the North West and the North East. Take away North Central and their power has been weakened. Right now Buhari is largely unpopular in most states in the north central:
Benue, Jos, Taraba, and Nassarawa due to security reasons.
Kogi due to the ineptitude of the current APC governor
Niger and Kwara due to influence from Babangida and Saraki respectively.
Bukola Saraki is from North Central. If he is made the major opponent of Buhari, the core north will kick against him because he is from north Central. They feel he is not one of them effectively showing North Central indigenes that they can never be president. This will lead to massive support for Saraki from the North Central.

2. Saraki brings more to the table
Atiku, Kwankwaso and other core north candidates will find it hard to even deliver their state in 2019. This is why APC are very confident because Buhari is a legend in the core north. None of the aforementioned can defeat Buhari in the core north whereas Saraki can deliver 6 states in the North Central. Why give the nominee to a candidate who will be flawlessly beaten by Buhari in his own region?

3. Youths
Let’s face it. The youths have a great part to play in this election. The youths make up a large number of the voting population. When it comes to Buhari vs Saraki for the youths, Buhari will definitely pack to Daura. Buhari’s contempt for Nigerian youths cannot be hidden. He has insulted them time and time again on the world stage. He has ensured their continuous oppression with SARS. He has made them unemployed, hungry and frustrated. Saraki is already popular among young Nigerians. Compared to ancient Atiku, Saraki is the clear choice.

4. Public Perception
Currently in Nigeria, the only citizen who has withstood Bihari, Tinubu, IG of Police and the entire APC is Saraki. Nigerians feel Saraki is smart enough to defeat Buhari. He trounced the Code of Conduct Bureau witch hunt. He has humiliated the IG of police. He is perceived as smart and intelligent with the way he became senate president and ruined Tinubu’s planned dictatorship of the senate.

5. South West
Admittedly, Tinubu has most south western states in the palm of his hand. This is fortunately for governorship elections only! When it comes to the presidency, yorubas don’t mindlessly follow like the core north. They will not vote for Buhari just because Tinubu tells them to vote. They will not vote for a candidate that wrecked them economically. Right now, Osun state indigenes are looking for any opportunity to vote out APC. Fayose will never allow APC to embarrass him a second time with rigging so Ekiti state is in the bag. Ajimobi is seen as a power drunk fool with the recent demolition spree so Oyo state is up for grabs.
Bukola Saraki is also Yoruba so they will feel a connection with him. Among other pdp candidates, none will resonate with the south west like Saraki.

6. The power of many
If the present pdp presidential aspirants come together as one, they will collectively weaken Buhari in the north. If they decide to go as lone wolves or bicker about the nomination outcome, they will strengthen Buhari. Kwankwaso can get few votes from Kano instead of APC to be gifted with bloc Kano votes. Tambuwal can help with Sokoto and Atiku can help with Adamawa. Dankwambo can help deliver Gombe. Even if winning is near impossible, a few votes from these areas will go a long way to help Saraki’s pdp to win.

7. The Buhari curse
Generally let us not forget the abysmal performance of Buharis administration. Tribal and religious sentiments aside, Buhari has been the worst Nigerian president. He simply must go back to Daura. 4 out of 6 geopolitical zones know this. 4 out of 6 geopolitical zones will win PDP the election. Finally 4 out of 6 zones can be delivered by Saraki. What do you think?

Point 1. Sarakis influence is only in Kwara State and if elections is between Buhari and Saraki, the North Central will be split into 2, Buhari winning Niger, Kogi and Nasarawa, Saraki winning Benue, Kwara . Plateau will be close, The NC was split in 2015
Babangida was sitting Governor in 2015 and did you see the vote? There was a 500k difference between Buhari and PDP despite a sitting president and sitting governor in PDP, 2019 will be even worse with Saraki as president

So nothing new here. There is no advantage for Saraki here

2. Saraki cannot deliver 6 NC states max he will get is 3 states.

3. You are deceiving yourself. where were these youths in 2015? Have you forgotten how Jonathan was jogging all over working out in public, buying musicians and actors just to prove he is youth friendly and what did that get him?

4. Public perception this is one of Sarakis weaknesses. He is known to have started from APP, jumped to PDP in 2000, jumped to APC in 2004, now back to PDP. His public perception is that he is unreliable and a snake. He betrayed everyone who has ever relied on him, betrayed Jonathan, betrayed APC by allying with opposition to become Senate president he even betrayed his father.
Buhari even till today dis still known for his integrity and anti corruption stand, Saraki on the other hand is known to be corrupt, he oversaw the failure of 3 banks, he ensured budget padding and delay in budget passing, his links to Offa robbery is still there

5. This point is actually laughable. Saraki is the most detested politician among Yorubas. You saw his reception at the ojude oba in Ogun state. The entire Saraki family are hated everywhere in the Southwest. He has always denied his Yoruba ancestry and Hausas have always denied him too like they denied his father. I can even say Atiku will have a more favourable reception in the SW than Saraki

6. Power of which many? How many of them are actual power brokers in their state? All of them have personal ambitions, D you think Atiku who has been nursing the ambition of ruling Nigeria for almost 30yrs when Saraki was still in his 20's will suddenly abandon that and follow Saraki? Or is it Kwankwanso?

7. Which abysmal performance? Many people still believe that under Buhari corruption has reduced and he is doing a good job given the opposition of the senate

The NW, SW and NE the regions will the highest voting population are still with Buhari

Who will Saraki pick as his running mate? picks SE and he can be guaranteed of voting apathy in the SS. The SS were for PDP because of their man Jonathan, now if they have no candidate on the ballot, there is a huge chance Buhari even adds Edo, Cross River and 40% of Delta and 30% in Akwa Ibom

My sentiments exactly.

And with the current news flying around in Kwara with everyone deserting him including his own sister, I am not even sure if he is still in control of Kwara. We will only know how much influence he still has in Kwara after the 2019 elections.

Your comment shows you did not read the stated points. Or you read it and did not understand. North Central, South South, South East, Half of south west and 3 states from the core north will give saraki the presidency.

We have useless press in Nigeria Saraki was in London few weeks ago Nigerian press went to his house asking rubbish questions and the man asking the question annoyed me so much because they are not questions a journalist should be asking. The question Saraki was 100 % happy to answer. We have hungry journalists both in Nigeria and abroad.

My question to Saraki.
1 Looking at the state you left Kwara why should any sane human being vote for you as president?
2 Explain the role you played in stopping budget paddling ?
3 Where were you when everyone was fighting for democracy during Abacha's government, we know where Sowore was where were you ?

4 Saraki show us one bill that has changed Nigeria for the past 3 years just one?

5 Saraki show us where you have actually fight for poor people because majority of the people living in Nigeria are poor 1 ?

Those type of questions would destroy his remaining political relevance, he dares not answer it. HHAHHHAA you are just too wicked, thank God you are not a journalist.

Exactly my point. Single handedly the core north aspirants cannot defeat Buhari but a united alliance will obliterate his second term ambition.

Your point 7 should be many people in the North East and North West believe that under Buhari corruption has reduced and he is doing a good job. The general consensus in NC, SW and the remaining south is that Buhari has failed. When election comes, you all will realize this is not 2015.

I am willing to match that bet. My confidence lies on NE and NW to aggravate North Central by calling them fake northerners. They already feel aggrieved that they are called northerners only during election time but discarded when it comes to appointments. If it's one of their own against Buhari, the choice is clear.

PDp is not ready yet, we are complaining about their corrupt nature, yet All their top aspirants are worst than Satan the devil.

For president or for kirikiri?

It is unfortunate that a man like Saraki wants to be president of Nigeria with our level of national awareness, cesspool of very credible persons without questionable character or wealth.

I am a Nigerian youth and I don't like Saraki. Only fools will like him. The boy is too scandalous and should be dispossessed of all the ill gotten wealth he can coverted from the banks, from Kwara and from Nigerians.

One of the easiest ways to allow Buhari to win is to give the stupendously filthy Saraki PDP ticket. Who told you Saraki will win the 6 states of the North Central? Has he helped anybody outside Kwara to win an elective position? Where in Nasarawa, Plateau, Niger etc has Saraki ever produced a simple and common councillor?

That he is senate president today inspite of all his deficiencies is more shame than fame and to be bragging that he won APC, Buhari, CCT/B, IG of police insults our national dignity and pride. How come he was qualified but yet not supported by his party for the SP?
How come with all the scandals, even if he was innocent, he did not resign?
How come he has joined a minority party but still holds on the the post he should technically relinquish with honour?
With the 16yrs loathing of the state under him and his proxy, the offa robbery, the abysmal performance of Gov Ahmed etc
I don't see Saraki winning Kwara in 2019 unless kwarans are all fools and bastards

I don't even have time to type more for now but PDP should stop the joke and give Nigeria a reasonable candidate

Idiotic post. They hate saraki in North Central. Especially Kwara State hate him like shit. They don't want both Buhari and Bukola as the president but they will prefer Buhari to Bukola. The saying of enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I stated 7 reasons why he can. You simply made a statement without points to back it up. Tell me why not?
My friend I am presently in south west and closer to the north central. U can't know more than I do unless u are trying to campaign for Bukola. Before u see someone that will say anything good about bukola presently, my guy u will try. Am telling you what is happening now in the north central. Almost 85% of kwarans have turned their back against bukola. Everywhere u go, you here people condemning him.
He can only win in other rigion, but South west and north central, forget it. Several people are in pains and abject poverty because of this man's greed. No any development. No any positive sign to say a senate president comes from there. He is a pain to everyone ass.
@poster,do not just sit down in abuja or Lagos and be telling us what we know more than you. Even all his past won elections were magomago and election rigging. Some of his criminals he always use to perpetrate election evils are presently in abuja prison or cell.
Both Saraki and Buhari, i dont want them in power. This is a very difficult math to solve. Because i dont see any credible candidate.

Your comment shows you did not read the stated points. Or you read it and did not understand. North Central, South South, South East, Half of south west and 3 states from the core north will give saraki the presidency.
You know nothing. Am sorry to call you mumu because your comments are just making to feel somehow.
Who will vote bukola in Kwara State? May be you and your family. Even the ilorin indegen that always voted him are all wise now. He is good in rigging election results but this will be different.
You can't talk about other places but stop saying south west and north central will vote him.
Open your senses this guy.

Stone gist. Who said saraki has influence in Kwara State. Come Kwara State and you will not say that again. The few people that will vote for him are those that are stealing Kwara resources together. First civil servant are the majority. State are presently owing 60% of them. Unemployment is more than 60%. So bukola should forget Kwara State because he can never redeem his image again.

My sentiments exactly.

And with the current news flying around in Kwara with everyone deserting him including his own sister, I am not even sure if he is still in control of Kwara. We will only know how much influence he still has in Kwara after the 2019 elections.
My guy forget that his sister issue. They never fought. Bukola always plant his sister in opposition party to distabelise them. His sister Gbemi is bukola game player.
