It's quite pathetic going through the comments. Why are we always sentimental and bias? If you don't know, ask, and you shall be enlightened. You don't need to show your ignorance.
In looking at the history of these Govt owned schools, was there a time the law drafted the code of dress to be worn? Before now, beret are worn in some govt schools but not really like before. It was the missionaries that built schools and Muslims had to abide by the dress code infringing on the rights of the individual who had no choice when they intend learning.
The hijab isn't just an attire worn during a particular time of the day or week. It has no make shift garment like we see today in our society. It's a dress code for the Muslim lady and whenever she isn't on it, she feels naked. The principal had no right whatsoever to ask them to pull it off. Never! Before her posting, the school had no issue with it, why is she sentimental? irrational?
If it were a sister(nun),would she be have asked them to remove their head gear? I guess your answer is as good as mine. Let's stop making religion divide us when it comes to school uniform. Who says hijab can't be part of a school uniform?
Unfortunately, there is nothing bad for the ladies to sing the Lord's prayer on the assembly or pray in the Christian way. There would nothing bad if they had exposed their bodies I guess? But when it has an iota of Islam, we go hay wire.Lets promote morality in our secondary school children and shun indecencies. It's high time we stopped being hypocritical on issues like this and try to focus more on productive matters.

Yen yen yen...You potential terrorist. The thing pain you well well. There is no phucking hijab for you illiterate muslims in government schools. You want to wear your useless hijab, you go to your Islamic terrorist schools and wear your stinking, dirty hijab. You can bomb yourself for all I care.

Is that what you were told?? That true Muslims are terrorist?? I see, little wonders why you've been bastardizing nairaland with your Spittles like a convulsing slowpoke.
for your information, Muslims today are at the forefront of combating terrorism. and muslims want to defeat terrorism just as much as any other country, if not more. This is why millions of Muslim youths are taking a stance against ISIS, that is why muslim women like nilook rahmani and Libra khadenna are at the forefront of fighting terrorism, this is why tons of Muslim groups and scholars repeatedly issue statements condemning ISIS, many even beheaded by ISIS in course of it. This is why more than 120 Muslim scholars around the world joined together to write an open letter to ISIS denouncing them as unslamic, using Islamic terms. The fact that muslims are being killed daily for publicly opposing the terrorist group should drive some sense into your head not to accuse any muslim you meet as being terrorist.

Maybe you don't know that right to freedom of religion is enshrined in our constitution and as such any modulations by government institutions and bodies seeking to negate and persecute muslims for practicing their faith in open is an infringement on the fundamental human right of muslims and is subject to amendment. And don't give me the "Muslims should practice their religion in the mosque" bullcrap. Christians in Nigeria are even more guilty of propagating their worship in the open. likewise Every Muslim has a right to use of the hijabs in schools without been oppressed and stigmatized. And neither you nor your cronies of inferiority complexed Christians will stop us. ask the Nigerian law school

their comments are simply driven by hate for Muslims for adhering strictly to the commandments of Allah. they don't want to practice their religion and don't want others to practice their faith. its as simple as that...

You keep making noise like the typical violent illiterate islamic extremist that you are. Is hijab part of the uniform? Do you know what a uniform is? You have already been cut to your size. The useless and illmannared children have been suspended. You can go to the school to arrest the principal...

So your argument is based on the fact that the quran demand that you put on the hijab. Have you ever stop to ask yourself if the institution (e.g. schools, law school etc) have their own dress code and other laws they want the students to adhere to. These institutions are neutral and they should remain so.

maybe you don't know that any law promulgated by institutions that negate the fundamental human rights of the adherents of any religion is subject to amendment. keep exposing your ignorance because of islsmophobia.

you're nothing but a staunch religious fanatist. so far, your antics have betrayed you as being islamophobic. what's your problem with the hijab.?? is it not also written in your Bible that women should cover their heads?? envy is what I can deduce from your venoms so far...

school me what a uniform is I don't know. Is a uniform not supposed to be a means of identification?? how then does wearing a short hijab as evident in the pix, nullifies the afformentioned purpose??

Govt schools have rules and regulations as well as uniforms. Hijab is not and will never be part of the uniforms for govt schools in lagos. If you are not happy with it, slam your head on the floor and yell alakbar a million times. No hijab as part of uniform. Simple.

Does the school have that? if yes, can you prove that?
Are some pupils/students not coming to school with christian and other religious items? what do you say about that?

so because the overzealous and islamophic principals of government schools decide to initiate rules, ostensibly to persecute muslims for adhering to their faiths means it has been endorsed by the ministry of education abi?? is it not the same government schools where Scripture union, the use of bible, christian hymn books during assemly, use of rosary are all allowed?? i attended a government secondary school in the south south, where I was forced to purchase hymn books, even I told them I was a Muslim. so burnishing your claim as usual with "Nigeria is a circular state is ridiculous. you're obviously a retard wallowing in ignorance.

Lol..see who is calling a person retard...olodo jatijati...the illeterate islamic extremist says it's circular...kikiki..circular kor triangular ni. Nigeria is a secular state and it may sound ridiculous to you because you would rather spend your time learning the useless arabic language just to be able to read the quran rather than spend your time learning and reading books that will help you escape from the shackles of ignorance and religious extremism. You all keep running afte petty useless things such as a dirty hijab which make your women stink anyways. I have asked you and your fellow illiterate islamic extremists what a uniform means and if hijab is part of the uniform but ya'll cannot answer because your brains have been affected by hitting your head on concrete every day. I do not know of any school that stops you from using your quran or tesbau or hymn book if you have any. Maybe you are unable to use your quran as you first have to learn arabic before you read it. Such fooli.shness i have never seen. Abandon praying in your language and forcefully learning another man's language to pray to thesame God that understands and created all languages. Maybe that's why many of you don't have common sense, it's very possible you pronounce the arabic words wrongly while praying hence cursing yourselves out ignorantly and fooli.shly.

You people think you are stubborn..lol..have you heard how oro worshippers broke some of your peoples head in oyo? You will all learn to use your brain by force and not just choose to be foolis.h over petty things.

No hijab for you in government secondary schools Kpomkwem!! And for your information, the illmannared children are still serving their suspension. You better head out with placards to protest and stop crying on NL.

Here we go again.....
This issue is very simple, the students should be allowed to wear their hijab since there is a subsisting and valid Appeal Court Judgment allowing hijab. I understand the view of the principal as I don’t like the fact that Muslims will want to put on hijab in a school funded with the tax dollars of Christians, Muslims and traditionalists. I personally wouldn’t want my children in a class with any girl putting on hijab, it is a security issue given the actions of terrorists professing Islam but what can we do when the Muslims insist on putting on the head scarf?

In the circumstance, I would advice Christian parents who are worried about the safety of their kids to save hard and try and enrol their kids in strictly Christian or secular schools where hijab will be prohibited. That is what I do if I were a parent. For now, muslims are allowed by law to put on their heads scarfs. We should move on to other things and not give that terrorist organization called MURIC the sounding board to espouse their fundamentalist BS!

This issue should be resolved fast and not used by bigots to garner sympathy and votes from their base.

Lol..olodo...you don't have a choice than to back down. You can't give what you don't have. 'Illiterate' yes, that's what you are. Spelling illiterate isn't my problem. And yes i have corrected it. But I'm glad that even though you are as stubborn as a goat, you have learnt a lot from my posts. You have not only been challenged to communicate in excellent written English, you have also been challenged to read and learn to use your brain in order to help you argue reasonably instead of repeating same gibberish.

Do you understand what a uniform is? Is hijab part of the uniform for government secondary schools? Why is it so hard for you and your fellow extremists to answer. How then do you intend to even convince any body to buy your idea of allowing hijab if you cannot answer simple questions and back it up with convincing points. You think everything is achieved by threats, violent and being stubborn? Like i said, una go learn by force.
