If you have ever travelled out of Nigeria you would know how badly you get treated at point of entry in each and every country, once they see your nigerian passport. You get singled out , searched and interrogated , it's very embarrassing. But why do we always blame the government for this ? I hear a lot of people saying ,if the government did everything to clean up Nigeria, then citizens wouldn't travel out and be messing around in other people's lands . I guess it's partly true , but if the government is the problem , why do we then arrive in foreign lands with better governments , economies and standards of living and Still commit all sorts of atrocities and nuisancances ?. Is this these countries government again ?. Why can't we just take responsibility for our respective behaviours ?. Nigerians are doing great things home and abroad because they choose to , whether the government is good or bad , but we have these elements who go all over the world committing all sorts of crimes , claiming it's because of bad governance . There are African countries more poorer than Nigeria, yet they get treated with respect in foreign lands because they don't get there and behave like uncultured savages. I think it's time we start snitching on bad Nigerians in every nation we are in , if you know of a criminal element , collaborate with fellow good Nigerians and report the criminal to the police or make locals aware . This will make us gain credibility and trust of the host , and not make us suspects as well.if we continued protecting the bad elements around us , let's be prepared to always get poor treatment and mistrust from our host nations.

I like your sarcasm but TBH, the OP is saying nothing but the truth, we need to change our ways even at work, people like Sri Lankans talk bad of us that we steal their credit cards and so on and I was like even Sri lankans have the right to talk bad of Nigeria. Everyone is sick and tired of us brother,instead cleaning our individual acts , we blame leaders or our hosts. The question we should ask ourselves is why we are always the ones treated with disdain and mistrust. Which Africa will we be allowed in ? Countries like Niger, Somalia, Chad and mali right?. Attractive countries like Kenya, Ghana, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia to name some , they want us out of their countries. I wonder why ?. Politicians I guess .

Those are local problems, I've never heard of them using our passport to go bomb innocent people in other countries, but we are stopped and harassed at every airport for other reasons; fraud , drugs, human trafficking .

I beg to differ , South Africa is known as the crime capital of the world , but they are never isolated at airports on suspicion that they might commit crimes in the country they are visiting. Same with us , when you get isolated and searched ,they don't look for guns and explosives or suspect you for terrorism, it's usually drugs and scamming devices . Be honest here. No one says boko haram is not known but they aren't the main causes of our devalued passports.

Lol, yes they do but southerners are the ones causing a nuisance around the world not the north. . I and many people I know have never been suspected of terrorism in any airport , but I've been suspected of being a drug dealer, potential love-vendor and Yahoo boy.
