This is an interesting perspective, but it over looks an important fact, and it's the fact that what we call the 'agbada' pre-dates Islam. The agbada came before Islam, in the same way that the "cross" pre-dates Christianity, but today is synonymous with the religion. The cross was merely an execution method for criminals.

The agbada was worn by desert and Sahel dwelling Africans before Islam came, however today many of the desert an Sahel dwelling Africans adopted and practice Islam, but not all. The agbada came from Africans, Arabs came from Africans and Euroasians mixing, but Arabs still retained much of their previous African culture, not the other way around.

The Cross was invented by Carthage and later copied by Rome as capital punishment. Christians laying claim to the cross is cluelessness. People have been dying on the cross before Jesus. None of them took away sins until Jesus, very funny

NaijirianKing:
The main reason I brought up the cross was to contrast it with what we call the 'agbada.' Specifically pointing out that the agbada was indigenous to Africa and pre-dates Islam in a similar way to how the cross pre-dates Christianity.

The agbada is the traditional wear of Africans and was later copied by Arabs who took it from Africans on the continent. Arabs are merely Africans who left the continent and mixed in with Eurasian groups and created a multi-racial group we now call "arabs."

We Africans to an extent think we were just naked, with no cultural or religion, and everything came from the outside. This is untrue and is seen from the fact that Arabs actually took their traditional style of dress from Africans on the continent. The few things we can give ourselves credit for, we need to give ourselves credit for.

A very informative piece of work as usual.

This is the kind of stuff this section should be know for.

If T D Jakes was Yoruba.

Lagos State Gov would have invited him to Lagos by now.

Y must Igbo things always be different?

Still it was a Yoruba Pastor Adefarasin (House on the Rock) married to an Igbo woman that invited him to Nigeria

There is a reason y I keep pointing out errors on our part as Igbo people.

We seem to be far too complacent.

It is not everyday we come online to beat our chest, proud Anambra, proud Igbo.

Sometimes, as a normal human being we need to reflect on things.
Re: . by hammerFC: 7:36pm On Nov 09, 2018
Yet again another Yoruba pastor Biodun of Coza invites T.D Jakes to Nigeria.

Guess wat he was wearing?

This is the richest Pastor on earth that we are talking about.

Ndiigbo, this thing that has been wrong since 1960s, maybe special prayer from TD Jakes is wat we need becos, something is definately wrong with Igbo.

As a people, i just think Ndigbo are not proactive and desirous enough to walk the talk and move the entire ethnic group forward to where we ought to be as a people! It's less of a problem at the community or even state level....but we struggle to replicate such fervour at a regional or pan-Igbo level! This is one of the negative effects of not having a centralised regional political structure!

As for ideas and suggestions....we get am plenty! The problem is to move on to the next level of implementation!
