This is a better explanation about what's happening.

With this explanation, I believe it has nothing to do with bios, you need to do a thorough service on your laptop, like clean and apply coolant to the processor etc.
For the screen, two things can cause it, a bad signal cable or a bad screen.

I'll suggest you try another screen on it.

Okay. This is an update about it.
I was able to install some drivers especially one 'serial I/o driver.
On installing those drivers, I noticed a considerable increase in the performance. It's averagely working fine. But the blinking is still coming although not causing the freezes again.
I noticed just once that when it blinked, the system froze. But that was just once yet. Blinking now doesn't cause freezing again and the system isn't going off by itself again.

In the device manager, the driver for the display adapter isn't Intel graphics driver. It's the default Microsoft basic display adapter.
I got my hands on an Intel graphics driver. I'll install it and see what happens.
And there are other devices like 4 with the yellow sign at the device manager but I don't recognize the devices or how to get the driver.

I look forward to get your opinion about what I've done yet. And maybe some other things to do. Thanks for your help thus far.

And please, to other people, your opinion is highly welcomed.

Good observation, install the display adapter drivers

I have come with my dv4 again o

I don't even know where to start from
I always have to complete my work and shut down my PC ALL THE TIME
If I try to hibernate it, it will be stuck on that blue windows interface and I won't see any rotating dots. I won't have any choice but to power off and on, and then it works fine
But it means that I have to start afresh. I wonder what could be the problem. Someone told me that it is a bug with Windows 10, so I should update it. I'm using the Fall Update and he is still using the first version(August 2015 version) of Windows 10 and he doesn't have such problems o
I even tried viewing system files on OS level and tried to delete that hiberfil.sys, thinking that maybe it was virus infected. I couldn't do that
Please help me with a fix

Oga Razak, if you still remember I asked you about that T9600 Core2duo processor a few months back. Is it still available? I would like to purchase it.

grin welcome back...
About the T9600, Sold the laptop that's carrying it...

Hmmm fall update... fall update...

Ok, how about you tell us the particular version of win 10 you're using currently?

If it means getting an update, why not?!

Back up your files and "clean install" the latest win 10...kill the bug forever.

*Cheers*

Hi, please my Lenovo ThinkPad laptop will not come on again but shows charging indicator light when plugged to power. I took it to the shop were it was bought and I was told it's the motherboard that is faulty and needs to be changed. Please how true is this?

Hello.

Oya, come and Sit down!
Open ya two ear ! Ok you can hear.me now.... Good.

So, you walked into a shop >>You have them the laptop>> they just looked at it>> They concluded by telling you it's the board>><<no diagnosis, no check whatsoever-----doesn't aɗd up hey??

Your next step should be to visit a technician, who would diagnose it and tell you what's wrong with it.

Whilst it's true that some Laptops do emit beep codes so we can decipher the problems, the best bet remains to first check what's wrong before drawing conclusions- it's only logical isn't it??

Oya you can now stand up and come and be going grin grin grin

Hello.

___every fashion weaponed against your battery___

No, this ain't time for prayers...go back to where you purchased the battery and try another one...

Note; If warranty time is exceeded from the day of purchase, I'm afraid you're gonna be spending fresh cash.

Morning gurus.

My laptop suddenly starts charging intermittently , and then stop charging. As in charges for a few seconds, stop and then start charging again. If the system is shutdown the battery retain charges, though the intermittent charging/not charging still happen as evidenced by the charging light.

Adapter all good. Tested on another laptop. Tried a new adapter. Same.

BIOS and chipset drivers both updated. Battery drivers also uninstalled and the system restarted. I thought this will stop the issue but no game.

What can I do? EliteBook 6930p.

Okay, so I think all these problem is driver related cos I just noticed that the keyboard too is irregular. And I'm just noticing that. Which I'm sure happened after the complete install. Cos I formatted the hardisk(as external) with command prompt on another system.
The graphics driver I got wasn't for the version of the Windows. That was the message during installation.
So I'll get all the drivers I can lay my hands on for the system and install them.
Hopefully, I'll be off this mess.

I'll update you as I continue.
Thanks.

@ Udemzyudex , we got 6930p in the house!!!

Hi.
If you've tried another battery and to no avail, then we can safely conclude that it's a board matter...power/Charging IC related.

Knock on the technicians door ASAP.

Thanks sir for your response.

I like the way you write and your sense of humor sir.

The laptop was last used four years ago, until two weeks ago.

Adapter rating 18.5V(18.5)==3.5A(3.5A)
System rating 19.0V(19.0)==4.74A(4.74A)

Could it be that? But the adapter works well before till yesterday.

Yet to try another battery though.

Hmmm
Good you spotted that slight difference in the rating.

Try a charger with same rating as that of the system (19v/4.5A) or (19v/4.7A)

Do this before you try another battery.

Since it is hp charger, does your charger fit well in the charging port?

When you plug it in, do you fill the grip or it just goes in directly.

Just try this, take a look at your laptop charging port, you will see at least 4 or 5 pins around the side , they hold the charger when you plug it in and supply the laptop the required voltage to charge.
Use a pin (niddle or office pin) and push them up gently. Connect your charger, to see if it hold properly.

This should do the magic but the best option is to replace the charging port.

OK, I'll just tell you to do 2 things.

1. Hard reset : take out the ba3, and hold down the power button for 20-30 seconds.

After that connect only the charger and power on.

If step on doesn't work

2. Take it to a laptop technician, since charging light is showing without it powering on, it has to do with motherboard but it's not a serious issue to warrant changing of motherboard.

Thanks for the response, after every diagnosis is when he came with the motherboard replacement. At first he said it was a chip that has to be changed but after working on the chip and the laptop still did not come up was why he concluded on changing the motherboard that will cost 20k. Please is it a fair charge?
