I have been having issues that I need to clearify pertaining this scheme before going too far. I studied Agricultural Engineering, and I hope it is not going to limit my chances due to the fact that most of the courses approved for by the scheme are Oil and gas related. I need people who are knowledgeable about this PTDF scholarship to run an Eligibility check on me considering following;
- I obtained a First class (4.84/5.0)
- I have been a beneficiary of 3 scholarships as an undergraduate and bagged a number of academic awards
- I have functioned in an automobile firm (as an intern), as a Maintenance Engineer and as an Assistant Lecturer
-my project work as an undergraduate dealt with the integration of renewable Energy and Agriculture (considering the fact that PTDF approved renewable energy related courses also).

I am not knowledgeable about this scheme. I just found out about it few days ago. I will like folks here to pardon me if I might have provided over information. I just need to get it straight.


QUESTION - I will like to know if I am Eligible at all. And if yes, am I limited to certain M.Sc programs on the scheme or I have the entire list to pick from.

You are!! I know someone who studied industrial design and is on this scholarship. Your statement of purpose should make sense though.
Apply, but base your SOP on the Nigerian oil industry. Note that anyone in any field can work in the oil sector though roles may differ.

Thanks alot Bro. Very encouraging. I am not clear about making 3 choices as stated on the scholarship guide. Is it 3 choices for each country? Or from any 3 institutions across all countries? Or one choice for each country?
I guess this is the last piece of the puzzle for. I appreciate the help so far on this platform, as this is the only way I have been making PTDF related inquiries

Any of the above. Though it's advisable you spread your choices. Select less competitive schools.

Hey all, just found this out, thanks to a friend that hinted me on visiting PTDF page.

1. Go to the original PTDF page using google search or click this link https://ptdf.gov.ng/2017-2018-ptdf-scholarship-scheme-overseas-local/

2. Click on scholarship and once the link is open, click on the + sign under Germany; the link to registering on DAAD is there (I do not know if it would work here) - https://portal.daad.de/irj/portal

3. Once open, register using your email, then, they will send you a link to activate registration.

4. Sign in after activation.

5. You will see different tabs which have the following Start, Project Funding, Personal Funding, Insurance etc.

6. There was nothing in Start but instructions of which I'd advise you read.

7. Click on Personal Funding and a list of suboptions will appear.

8. Go through the tabs on Personal Funding; for me, I skipped to Application.

9. Once on the Application tab, select Nigeria-German Masters Program 2018. (that's where I currently am and still figuring it out).

Note: as you follow the above, please, ensure you read properly and double check.

Dmainman, a little help needed here. Is it that we should just register with DAAD or are there certain things we have to fill (I downloaded the DAAD form and what I seeing there such as project supervisor etc. requires us applying ourselves). Please, modify your post on DAAD as the deadline is on 31st Jan.

Are u for Germany? If so u should have submitted ur credentials and other documents to Daad scholarship last month in line with the PTDF partnership policy with Germany.
So this week was a letter sent by the German daad scholarship notifying German scholars whether accepted or rejected.

Just to be clear, does the DAAD shortlist have anything to do with the PTDF one?

Those that mentioned that they were not shortlisted, were you awarded the PTDF scholarship?

I got the scholarship congratulatory message this morning to study in france, but i checked the school portal I realized IFP( French institute of petroleum application closed since march 31st. I went to check university of Grenoble which was my second choice same thing, application is closed too, please what can i do?

Hello guys, I was shortlisted for 19/20 lss but my msc admission letter says 16/17 tho I'm still in school I dont think I sud av been shortlisted cos my year of admission as exceeded 2 years. What do u think?

_Get a Progress Report from your School of Postgraduate Studies (duly stamped) to validate that you are still on the program provided you have defended your proposal already. This is valid and should solve your issue.
