WAPCO 2nd round of Rights Issue has started. We are yet to see the impact of the first Rights Issue carried out in the first half of the year on the company's financial performance. Management asking for more money from shareholders without value created on the earlier Rights, to me sounds foolish. Could it be that the foreign shareholders loan is a creative accounting of the directors to collect money from shareholders coz i am not understanding.

[quote author=yok post=73962269]NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 18 DECEMBER 2018

The closing figure today is showing that a lot of money is in the market. The closing figure surpassed the projection widely. For tomorrow, the closing figure is likely to be higher than the projected high, so much money in the market looking to buy (good stocks)

For Wednesday 19 December 2018, expected High is 30,894.16 low at 30,678.66. The next level for the All Share Index,we need to watch is 31,213.11

This is the market for us, last week bearish, now there is so much cash in the market

By tomorrow morning we will see what MSCI Nigeria did today in the market.

The Allshare index closed today lower at 30,704.98, figure still lower than our projected low. Figure not too bad, with market breadth showing 23 gainers and 19 losers.

For tomorrow Thursday 20 December 2018, expected High is 30,827.61 low at 30,639.36.

Value of stock traded for the day is still above average.

Market action is range bound.

It's good those in DMD are recouping their losses anyway, I just hope they'll be wise enough to leave the stage when the ovation is the loudest. smiley
...honestly, you made a good comment in the morning regarding Diamond stock, but anyone in the stock might possibly take it wrongly as the sentiment is still high! So the thinking will be, why should I sell now She must then be jealous. All those stuff. Try & understand their angle of looking at half full cup; and appeal to everyone involved to also look at @Mcy56 angle of looking at half empty cup. Chikena!

You cannot succeed in the financial markets if you cannot control your emotions. You have no business in the stock market if you cannot bear to see negative news or hear negative opinions on a stock you are invested in.

The stock market is not for the faint hearted or thin skinned.

Ken Langone: The stock market is a 'casino' now — but there's still a way for individual investors to profit

Trading in the stock market nowadays is like gambling, says billionaire businessman and philanthropist Ken Langone.
"The only hope you have is to own great companies; put them away; and don't look at the market," the 83-year-old advises.
"There's a disconnect between what used to be yardstick by which you measure stocks," he warns.

Trading in the stock market nowadays — ruled by exchange-traded funds, index funds, computer trading and information overload — is like gambling, billionaire businessman and philanthropist Ken Langone told CNBC on Wednesday.

"There's a disconnect between what used to be yardstick by which you measure stocks: earnings, dividends and so forth. It's a casino out there. The only hope you have is to own great companies; put them away; and don't look at the market," the 83-year-old Langone said in a "Squawk Box" interview.

The recent volatility in the market has certainly not been for the faint of heart. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 closed just above its 2018 low as stocks struggled to keep a rebound alive throughout the session. The index remained firmly in a correction, defined as a decline of 10 percent or more from the most recent high, even as it moved higher in early Wednesday trading.

"There are some great values out there. The thing you can't do, you don't have the luxury of being emotional about the market anymore because there are so many things that defy logic," Langone said. "If you go with the whims, go with a whim, you're going to get whipsawed at best. And at worse, you going to miss great opportunities."

Langone, the co-founder of Home Depot, said his longtime friend and legendary investor Stanley Druckenmiller alluded to this paradigm shift this week. "Stan was interviewed by Bloomberg, and he said one of the reasons he gave up was because it's a new game." Druckenmiller, 65, closed his Duquesne Capital Management hedge fund in 2010 after three decades, and turned it into a family office. In 2009, Druckenmiller gave $100 million to NYU Langone Health, a major medical center in New York.

In addition to chairing the board of trustees at the medical center that bears his name, Langone is also the founder and chief of investment bank Invemed Associates, with a specialty in health-care companies

There is a difference between negative news and negative INNUENDOS. The latter is the case in the Diamond Bank matter and this is typically driven by people who were wrong on Diamond's outcome and are finding it hard to come to terms with this. Continually raising alarm until H2 2019 is their way to deal with this as they look for a way to finally be Right as it relates to their Wrong on Diamond Bank.

The deal will go through. Nigerian companies rarely ever back down from deals that have been announced between each other publicly. All concerns have been addressed.

Cheers

Uhhmmm, dont know this matter has caused some people much headache like this....but diamond is gaping up daily na, why dis emotional stress.
People have been wrong and right severally, doesn't mean market will not do what it will do.

Some of us benefited from the first rally, we will still benefit from it after this rally. Think its the way some of the shell holders were going about it then that made the discussions to stretch this long, the skye is big enough for plenty birds to fly without jamming one another jorr.

Anyone with update from the conference call?
People dey find Santa gifts upandan, make una stay there dey defend and argue. Diemond gave pre-santa gifts earlier, some are benefiting from the second round, while some of us are waiting to benefit from either it or Access for the next round.
Make anyone no make me lose focus o, na so you distract person from the ongoing rally. undecided grin
