Well it is a lesser evil compared to those things kidnapping, armed robbery, ritual killing....people lose their lives 80 out of 100 times when it comes to the first 2 and ritual killing is even at 100% life is precious and invaluable that is why we should be thankful for the gift of life....do you get it now?

Oga, evil is evil.

Whether it is less or more.

Nollywood should act films that will discourage ritual killings. They should act films and make people realize that money doesn't come from rituals and discourage get reach quick syndrome.
Nollywood actors and actresses post false and fake lifestyle all the time. This doesn't help the society at all.

Especially the Oloshos that disguise themselves as actresses. Nowadays, once you're not ashamed to flaunt your overused body, you're termed an actress and nairaland isn't even helping matters.

Bollywood is filled with many fakes. Most of them do t really make money

what's the difference between your so-called "yahoo" and armed robbery?

the thin difference lies in the means of perpetrating the evil.

one uses guns, knives, etc. while stealing others' wealth; the other hides behind a computer or phone while stealing others' wealth.

stealing is stealing, robbery is robbery regardless of whether a computer, a nuclear bomb, a gun, or even a razor was used while perpetrating the evil.

so, you're still a robber regardless of how hard you try to trick your own mind into accepting your evil.
Really??You are so Wrong bro!yeah it still a crime and there is no difference do you know the national assembly proposed to give the death penalty or life imprisonment for kidnappers and people want the same for ritualists too you think a judge will sentence a yahoo boy for life or give him the death penalty!you can try kidnapping someone first or steal then get caught then you will realize how savage nigerian jungle law is when they put tyres round your neck and burn you into ashes!and oga which stealing are you stealing its people like you who kiss the ass of those rogue politicians and technocrats who are the real cause of hardship in Nigeria and the reason why 80% of our youths have taken to yahoo like they are trying to become....we now have superstar yahooboys with loads of upcoming ones even in developed countries there is all sorts of crimes their youths engaged in to make money....jay z and 2pac once sold drugs to make money.....do you know what drugs do to people it kills people it destroys people is drug dealing any less a crime to cyber fraud is 2pac not one of the most influential artist of all time...jay z is one of the most successful the point is they did things and rose above it no one is saying fraud is a good thing or should be needlessly celebrated but the crux of the matter is Nigeria is a failed country withe leaders selfish greedy and visionless they have no plan and they dont care bout the average citizen i see no changes in 2pacs voice to each is own Mr...i dont need to be a yahooboy to understand the plight of the average nigerian youth and even tho yahoo is a crime and immoral and wont go on displaying an holier than thou attitude just cos i have a chance or got lucky to be leading a better life....most people if given a better deal wud do better, they are just trying to survive not all of them are mentally and physically lazy like yall always tout...i dont wholly judge ppl until i work in their shoes!when you check the stats of the number of unemployed ppl, youths in nigeria then you will understand while cyber crime is prevalent and it wont stop anytime soon unless the govt productively engage them....Your leaders have failed you

Well Mr i kno yahoo is a crime or and immoral like some dunder heads who dont know or pretend not to but i am kind of indifferent You see when you are a Nigerian a youth in 2018 you get a pass to do some things if its for your survival you can agree or disagree i dont care ...i wud only lead the campaign against against cyber crime when i see loads of opportunities, jobs for the youths to engage in not rhe Nnpc jobs that is meant for the rich and connected and high and mighty and not self employed cos Nigerua dies not encourage SMEs i do stuffs in that area and i know things are fucking hard besides everyone wont become an entrepreneur or is interest in doing business athey juswanna work and put foid on their table and that us how it is in advanced countries Uk,us,canada, australia, germany name it ppl work to earn money you wanna work there are jobs for you...no matter how small the pay is you dont have such in this country...and lastly Mr have you seen Hotel Rwanda there is a scene whre don cheadle was telling his wife sophie okoneddo that when interhanwe comes she should take their kids and jump cos the machete is not a way to die...both is dieing jumping will lead to ones death so is being macheted but he said the machete is not a good way to die...which is the plain truth...tge agony and the pain is unimaginable so also is yahoo in comparison with ritual killing, kidnapping and armed robbering...they are both crimes and evil yeah but most ppl wjo prefer to get scammed than die in the hands of ritualists or get kidnapped or be a vicyim of armed robberry so oga...there is what they call a lesser evil..do you get it now?besides i did not even coin the phrase "Lesser Evil"Thid wud be my last response i dont do back and forth no more you can agree or disagree i dont impose my beliefs of people anyways..We habe all been blessed with a brain and a mind it is for us to think and discrrn things!Adieus

People will continue to believe in expo because the society runs on a quota system that accommodates empty people. What's the use of studying to pass if I wouldn't be given a fair chance to solve real life problems facing my immediate society?

This is why I will never take sides with demonic parties and individuals who try to sabotage one or two aspect of the nation.

We need to restructure this country ASAP and this isn't about party or politics but about the reality of fairness and wellbeing.

i see how hard you tried, and the extreme you went to trick your conscience into accepting your evil ... smiles.

let me deconstruct your "epistle" for you ... but I'm not promising (but just hopeful) that it will stop you from lying to yourself.

1.) you tried to justify the evil of robbing people by asking if it gets d same death punishment (or life improsonment punishment) as ritual killings etc.

well for the sake of any sane person reading this, the fact that "rape" (for example) doesn't get the same punishment as "murder" doesn't mean rape isn't evil. It's still evil, but of a lesser degree compared to murder.

in a similar way, robbery is evil whether it's been perpetrated through the use of a razor, or WMD in coercing or forcing the victim or by hiding behing the internet.

so, an armed robber and "yahoo" robber belong to the same category and gets the same punishment; but an armed robber will only receive additional punishment if they inflict direct physical harm or directly cause the death of their victim in addition to robbing them of their wealth.

2.) And you went on an almost endless rant of how the system have failed you; how politicians too are thieves; how some other people too (whom you obviously look up to as role models) are/were also involved in crime; etc.

i will advice that you take same water and calm down.

all your rant here doesn't constitute d slightest argument against my point that "yahoo" robbery is what it is -- robbery.

i refuse to address your rant here point by point for d simple reason dat they do not in any way adress my point.

all u did was ramble that others are doing other crimes too. well, the fact other people are involved in crimes is no excuse or justification to any same mind to follow same path.

And if you think d system has failed, you take steps to be d change.

set aside your inferiority complex for once and joint the system. seize the mantle of leadership and set good precedents and see how things change for good.

i know it's not going to be very easy, but it's the better alternative than sitting down idle and complaining all year long.

the fact that you could successfully perpetrate "yahoo" robbery shows that you're not a dummy after all. if you (and other robbers like you) channel your energy in the right direction, then the system which you want to see in d right direction will surely steer in the right direction.

wow! i see you have just submitted a whole lot of interesting incoherence.

i will try as much as i can to avoid been dragged to your low level by not attempting to match your rudeness and nastiness ... may God help me.

you know what they say about resorting to insults when you can no longer intellectually match the opponent's argument. you've just confirmed that statement one more time with your insults and cursing. cool

Again, i refuse to give a line by line refutation of your "epistle" because you have written a clearly uncoordinated and largely incoherent crap here.

what I will do instead is to reply in one punch to the crux of your argument if at all it can be called an argument.

*you noted that you also condemn "yahoo" robbery, but in the same breath you condemn my condemnation of "yahoo" robbery, the very thing you claimed you also condemn ... that's at best laughable grin

* you noted that you also condemn "yahoo" robbery as criminal, but when I had done the same, you said it's coming from an angle of inferiority, frustration, and pain ... lol.

may be, you should reconsider who really is inferior, frustrated, pained, and actually confused ... smiles.

In fact, to be frank with you, your reasoning from some of what you've written shows in a loud and clear manner that you struggle with inferiority complex and low self esteem and I will provide evidence for that below.

you wrote, without even knowing me, that you're sure I'm one of those "self made noisemakers oga" ... smiles.

well to help your self esteem; I am, in truth, not your oga or anyone else's. I am a young individual in my 20s (you're probably older). But of a truth I tell you that I've stepped in and been to places that you will never get to throughout your life, even if you desperately crave it, regardless of the magnitude of fraud you perpetrate ...

I'm perhaps damaging your alreading low self esteem now instead of helping it as promised. I am very sorry I have to say some truths that I've said.

*i don't want to say too much in order not to give you the false and wrong impression that you made some sense.

Regardless of what kind of crime you perpetrate, be it "yahoo" robbery, armed robbery, or looting of public funds etc., stealing is stealing and robbery is robbery; and should all be condemned without buts and ifs

i will try as much as i can to avoid been dragged to your low level by not attempting match your rudeness and nastiness ... may God help me.

you know what they say about resorting to insults when you can no longer intellectually match the opponent's argument. you've just confirmed that statement one more time with your insults and cursing. cool

Again, i refuse to give a line by line refutation your "epistle" because you have written a clearly uncoordinated and largely incoherent crap here.

what I will do instead is to reply in one punch to the crux of your argument if at all it can be called an argument.

Regardless of what kind of crime you perpetrate, be it "yahoo" robbery, armed robbery, or looting of public funds etc., staeling is stealing and robbery is robbery.

So u think the exams u do in school is all about getting a job/appointment in the society? no brother!
The exam you take today is to build u,while u build the society.
Let me say this; No one is going to give u a fair chance, If u're waiting for somebody to give u a fair chance to solve your societal problem you'll have to wait for a long time. You don't wait for anyone, U take it. And u can only do that if u know what to do. And u may never know what to do if u can't solve simple problem.
These are some of the benefit u get whenever u stand bold to face your exams in school rather than expo.

In life there is no easy way. People make the society, the society don't make them.

Expo kills the mind, and destroy your self confident.
That's a fact! Maybe u should do some research about it.

Nigeria will have to work, but it is the people with sound minds who will make her work.
Check your governors
Check your commissioners
Do they also run on quota system? No of course. But 95% of them lack the simple logic to solve their immidiate societal problem.
You can only build the society when u build yourself.
And u can't never build yourself with EXPO. That's a fact.

if u are a youth, u will know that u can only make it in this country through illegal things. what is illegal to the world is legal in Nigeria and what is legal to the world is so hard to achieve and sometimes pronounced illegal

That's a LIE!
That's what they have made u to believe. That's how they want u to think. Because that's the only way they keep controlling u.

I'm also a youth, at 37,and I don't feel that way.

I believe Nigeria will have to work,I believe Nigeria must work. If not for anything, it should be for my children and grandchildren.
People made this country this way,and it must be people who will have to change it.

Some of the developed country u envy today, were worst than this, but people made the decision for a change, because that's the only country they have.

If u feels that way, brother, then u still have alot of work to do on yourself. Because if u lack the zeal to do the right things for u, no one will do it for u. And the Nation shall continue to suffer.
You may get the money u want today, but believe me,your children and grandchildren will have to face the reality.

Forget all this current Politicians,
If you're a youth, you should know, the future is in your hands. But first u have to build yourself, else they will keep controlling u. Fact!

Oga read well and understand things b4 jumping into wrong conclusions.
regarding your first sentence I bold, I never said knowledge is all about appointment or jobs. I said if I won't be given a fair chance to used what I am trying to learn why try to learn of on the first place?

I never also asked of a easy way in life but a fair way. Let me give you an example.
If as a mechatronics or petroleum engineering undergraduate targeting the oil sector to impart my knowledge I am know how NNPC can be and realize how the children of the rich are mostly employed in NNPC like we witnessed 3 years ago, I may not take my mechatronics or petroleum studies serious because of a humble background. I already know that the children of the rich who aren't ready to improve the system in NNPC are getting the opportunities ahead of me and I will very likely be considered for N-POWER, so I might as well avoid knowing all the complex course work that will aid NNPC and just study hard enough to be a physics teacher in a govt school.
