Lol. Buhari should come and tell us what was inside the 53 suitcases he wanted to smuggle into the country as at that time. Who knows, it might just have been Aisha's pants he was trying to bring in.
So, you believed Atiku ? simply ask Atiku to visit US before election before you put your trust in a criminal to rule a whole nation

After he loses elections, arrest Tunde Sabiu, that's his personal money boy. Form boy boy to overnight billionaire .

Include AG Malami and chief of staff Kyari

Use the same tactics they are using right now and I guarantee billions will be recovered on the first day of their arrest.

Like Buba Galadima said, relatives & friends of bubu begging for 2000 naira before 2015 to travel to Kaduna (where Buhari lived) from Daura (his home town) now own duplexes in Daura GRA, Kaduna and Abuja. This i can personally confirm too. Some had problems feeding themselves. Dem don hammer now.
Poor man stick to issues that affect the poor minded like yourself, what business do you have with the affairs of the rich?

As the President and commander in chief you don't have to steal one naira, one LNG contract awarded and the signature bonus for an FPSO is enough to be made for life, stop hating before you die in misery, who Jah Jah has blessed let no man curse.

53 SUITCASES SAGA: Buhari blasts Atiku, Jonathan

53 SUITCASES SAGA: Buhari blasts Atiku, JonathanBy EMMANUEL AZIKEN, Political Editor & TINA AKANNAM
LAGOS – ECHOES of the 53 suitcases saga of 1984 resounded as an issue in the 2011 presidential campaign, yesterday, with major actors accusing and denying allegations of culpability.
The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, under whose regime as Head of State the suitcases were stowed away from Customs check, told newsmen at a campaign stop in Dutse, Jigawa State, that erstwhile Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, was in the best position to explain the issue.
While Atiku in a riposte acquitted himself and blamed “rude and crude” soldiers from Buhari’s headquarters for the slip, the Buhari/Bakare campaign in another statement queried the intentions of the PDP in raising the issue when it alleged that the PDP government was itself rocked with scandals.

The PDP presidential campaign council had at the weekend cited the 53 suitcases saga as evidence of what it claimed as Buhari’s imperfection.

Depletion of foreign reserves

The CPC challenged the PDP to, among others, explain the depletion of the foreign reserve by $30 billion, the award of the Abuja airport runway at a price of N64 billion among other allegations on malfeasances by the present administration.

The 53 suitcases saga arose in 1984 during the currency change exercise ordered by the Buhari junta when it ordered that every case arriving the country should be inspected irrespective of the status of the person behind such.

The 53 suitcases were, however, ferried through the Murtala Muhammed Airport without Customs check by soldiers allegedly at the behest of Major Mustapha Jokolo, the then Aide-de-Camp, ADC, to Gen. Buhari. Atiku was at that time the Area Comptroller of Customs in charge of the Murtala Muhammed Airport.

Responding to enquiries from newsmen on the issue during a campaign stop in Dutse, shortly before a courtesy call on Governor Sule Lamido, Buhari said that Atiku was in the best position to speak on the issue because he was in-charge of the Airport Customs.

He said: “You go and ask him for details. I was in Dodan Barrack as Head of State then. I know my head of protocol, late Ambassador Dahiru, came back from Saudi Arabia together with his three wives and about 15 children.

“Each had their luggage and his hand bag was also counted as one person’s luggage. The other details I cannot speak because I wasn’t there when the incident happened.”

Atiku’s response

Responding, yesterday, Atiku said the issue was well documented in his authorized biography, “Atiku: The Story of Atiku Abubakar” written by Onukaba Adiniyi-Ojo who was at that time The Guardian aviation correspondent and now a top aide of the former Vice-President.

Speaking through his spokesman, Garba Shehu, he said: “In his own account (Adiniyi-Ojo’s) the story is how big men and women consider the observance of laid down procedure as something that is belittling. Soldiers who came to pick the suitcases were rude and crude and threatened Customs officers who had insisted on inspecting the suitcases.”

Details on the 53 suitcases

Buhari’s spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, in another statement giving further details on how the 53 suitcases were ferried into the country said: “In 1984, the Emir of Gwandu whose son was ADC to General Buhari was returning to the country from overseas.

The Head of State on learning of his arrival asked his son to go and receive him at the airport as they were only playing squash at the time.

“Coincidentally, the Nigerian ambassador to Libya at the time, Dr. Tahir Waziri, arrived at the same time with the Emir with his three wives and 16 children.

They all came with their belongings as he was coming home to take up a new appointment as chief of protocol to the Head of State. It was the suitcases of the family of 20 that were counted as belonging to the Emir and falsely presented to the public.

“General Buhari has, over the years, asked those who have questions over the matter to go to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was at the head of Customs operations at the airport on the day. Now we are further suggesting this as a research topic for a doctoral thesis by the President when he hands over on May 29, 2011.”

Repeated efforts to get a response from the Jonathan campaign team on the issues were not successful yesterday.

Don't mind pdp & atiku they know they are heading for a colossal loss and their only hope is to spread enough propaganda and lies and hoping that repeating the lies will with time turn to the truth amongst the gullible public.

Politics is a dirty game and in due time the Federal Government and Apc will give pdp & atiku a dose of what fela coined "Government Magic". Two can play that game.

Minimum wage here makes more than a director in the ministry in terms or real salaries and has access to better health, security and retirement/life expectancy.

Sorry to say you are the one that must have been a child in 1984,who is an ordinary customs officer working at Murtala Muhhamed international Airport to challenge the Commander in chief in 1984?

President Buhari would not have time for that rubbish,The Chief of Staff Supreme Headquarters Brigadier Tunde Idiagbon would have dealt mercilessly with Atiku and his korofo customs officer colleagues, even after the airport issue the Military sill left him at the airport as an ordinary civul servant doing his job.

You notice Atiku did not deny that he is trying to smuggle money in as charged....but said Buhari did same thing in past.

The truth is, Buhari has never done such a thing in his past. This is like accusing Buhari of Babachir's grasscutter fraud. ADC tried to get suitcase in for his father, not for Buhari.

abdulazeez1002:
ABUJA – Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said President Muhammadu Buhari knows a thing or two about bringing looted funds into the country.

The former President stated this while reacting to an earlier statement credited to Buhari Support Groups, BSG, accusing him of plotting to ferry looted funds into the country ahead of the 2019 elections.

Atiku who reacted in a statement issued by his media
adviser, Paul Ibe, tasked President Buhari and his
supporters to take a trip down memory lane before making allegations they could not substantiate.

The statement read in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement by President Muhammadu Buhari accusing the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic part PDP, Atiku Abubakar of planning to smuggle in looted funds into the country just before the February 2019 elections.

“This new accusation, like their previous allegations, is
another infantile outburst that tells more about the accuser than Atiku Abubakar.
“For the avoidance of doubt, history shows that rather than smuggle in looted cash, Waziri Atiku Abubakar has a record of preventing looted funds from being smuggled into Nigeria.

“In 1984, it was Atiku Abubakar, as head of the Murtala
Mohammed International Airport Command of the Nigerian Customs and Excise Department, that stopped the ADC of the then Military Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, from smuggling in 53 suitcases of looted money into the country.

“Young Nigerians and Millennials who may not be aware of this incident, will do well to Google it. Only the guilty are afraid. It is President Muhammadu Buhari who has a history of smuggling in looted funds and not Waziri Atiku Abubakar.”

Atiku further backed up his position with a claim that a
prominent APC governor said the same thing of the
President eight years ago.

“In fact, Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna state governor), a favourite of the President and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, said as follows on October 4, 2010:

“In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his
ADC’s father to enter Nigeria unchecked at a time the
country was exchanging old currency for new.”
The statement added that “only recently, Mr.
Abubakar’s plane was searched, his accounts have been perused and his businesses have been thoroughly investigated with a fine tooth and nothing remotely corrupt or illegal has been found.

“In desperation, the Buhari administration released this
statement to cover their shame on a day that the US based International Strategic Studies Association reported that it is the unprecedented corruption around President Buhari that has led to the recent setbacks in the war on terrorism in the Northeast and the heavy loss of lives amongst the military rank and file. May God save Nigeria from a government that values money over lives.

“We therefore urge Nigerians to note that it is Muhammadu Buhari who has a history and a record of smuggling in looted funds and it is Waziri Atiku Abubakar who has a history of preventing such from happening.

“And while they are at it, we urge them to tell Nigerians
those behind Etisalat, now 9Mobile and Keystone Bank,
now Polaris and how they suddenly possessed such wealth overnight.”

I don't understand how some nigerians still believe that buhari has any integrity this is a man that was sponsored by very corrupt politicians and some gullible zombie like followers still believe that he is not corrupt himself.
