So I have this friend(name withheld) her and her boyfriend went to get a genotype and a blood group test, she is AS and the guy is also AS

She was heart broken, this is the guy she was bragging that she'll get married to and now they don't match at all, she broke up with the guy even though she still seriously loves the guy but it can't work anymore cause it's wasting of time.undecided

Nobody wants to bring a sickler to this world so now my naira land friends is there any alternative?, can it still work? have you ever been in such compromising situation?

Dear amaniro

If we, however, follow the logic of
recommending breakup for lovers who are
incompatible from a genotype stand point
because it is important to have kids, it then
makes sense and becomes a moral
responsibility that the man should chase out
his wife in pursuit of this great importance.

Perhaps it’s time we started prioritising
companionship over the desire to procreate,
by so doing, we enrich the quality of our lives
and, perhaps, even solve a humanitarian

What if your friend fail to conceive in her new "compatible" relationship?

They should go ahead and get married.
The chances of having a sickler is just 1/4.
So just stop at 3 children or 2 to be on the safe side.
Tho I've seen two AS parents giving birth to 5 non SS children.

Sha if an SS child pops out first, the doctor can help make its departure painless

I wonder why you are tagging lots of people. It's a no brainer that individuals with the genotype AS should not marry or copulate as the probability of procreating a child with the SS genotype is: 25%, AA = 25%, and AS = 50%. You might say 25% is a miniscule percentage but guess what? It's PROBABILITY which you cannot predict. And please, don't listen to folks who say the first child will not be SS as there's no scientific evidence to corroborate such ridiculous claims.

The "alternative" here is to scan for the genotype of the child before procreation but there's a snag. Will you abort every child if it's found to be SS?

The relationship should be terminated as it's a heinous offence to bring innocent children to suffer what could have been prevented with COMMON SENSE.

Abi o most people say if the child passes 20 as a sickler he will not die till he's old, that's a big lie.

Break up if you would like her to bear your kids. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

Another partner will come.

There are expensive medical screening that can be done at the cellular level before insemination but the stress is much. There are a million other girls you can love as well and remember this.. time and chance made our path cross so nobody is indispensable!
It's a crime against humanity to give birth to a sickler at this age and world knowledge

If you are going into a relationship that could lead to marriage, before you start making commitment or developing feelings, ask the genotype! I did that and moved on when I wasn't compatible until I met my wife who's AA

Thanks very much I appreciate, but again, it's not me, it's my friend, she's still cool with the guy but she knows marriage is cancelled with him. I'm an AAsmiley
