seems to me like people are becoming either more clueless or wicked or both.

Oga, unless you are benefitting from the stolen money... simply call a supervisor or manager and tell him your concerns but make it clear that you won't like to be involved. they shld do their own separate investigations.

or you can keep quiet and watch until the whole thing blows open. trust me you will be badly affected too. nonsense people.

See why it is very very risky to do business in Nigeria or with Nigerians

Someone is stealing, directly or indirectly crippling another man's business, and Nigerians are saying “mind your business”. Which business if I may ask?

Thank God I saw this thread. It's saved me a lot.

we are too short sighted(in the real sense) we are not seeing it thst way. te only thing we are seeing in the process is "lets get all we can and be rich" but really thats never possible. even if they get to the poont of it making them rich then authoritoes would definitely know and it would turn to legal issues. these are one the reasons nigerian businesses fail. 1. people who dont see the biz as theirs 2. nonchalant attitude on the part of employees. thats why i implore all employers to treat their employees very good and pay them well. so that when and if situations like this arise, it would not be a case of a company who was wicked from the start and an employee is paying them bck in theor own coin

See people complaining about our leaders all the time. Do you need someone to tell you that it is wrong. Why do you think people don't come to Nigeria to invest, because you can't trust any Nigerian. People should not think because you kept quiet you are not a thief you are part of it. See y oyinbo people dey strict with us.

You are a tout and clearly still in school, you are also a thief and an enabler

When you grow up and graduate you will be ashamed of this nonsense you typed

You better learn what life is really about before you finish school and leave your parents house because with this rubbish mindset you have you will not be able to keep a job

Somebody needed an opinion ..I gave mine.it is left for him/her to make a choice .My opinion ooo and not yours . And here you are with your maggot-infested brain typing like your mother gave birth to you after sexual inter course with wild animals .I don't have any problem with people being stupid but it is stomach -churning seeing fools like you advertise thier stupidity on a public forum. I gave an advice for his/her safety .Is there anywhere I mention to the op to steal anything or condone the act of stealing? Just told the op to mind his/her business. And strictly my opinion which he /she sought for . You don't know me and you have just concluded and that shows you are and educated idiot .You are in a parallel line with common sense .Did I forget to conclude that you are an educated illiterate.

I commend your integrity but you need to observe carefully before reporting him. Often, from my personal experience, a higher-up is in the know and collaborating with the junior staff to steal. When you report, they cover it up and focus on making you the enemy. I would say record the person and anonymously send in the evidence.

If I'm doing business with you my brother, I will make sure that business succeed. If you are not paying me well I'll make you see what I'm worth, we need to talk too. But thinking I'll steal from you that is no no.
Why do you think businesses like fords, Tesco, Sainsburys etc still exist? Because the workers want their kids to come work their if there is no job available around. Most of these companies don't pay because they believe that the staffs are stealing from them.

Well, his stealing can affect you in the long run. What if the company closes down? You end up losing your job and he ends up with enough savings

for a biz to think like this is very bad in the first place. assuming everybody is a criminal. then they all would be doing that which they fear they would do. i spoke extensively about this with my uncle sometime ago and we came to the conclusion that why most nigerian biz fail is because of these kinds of things.

Stealing the company's money or colleagues money? if its the company's money, the person must be an APC member so free the person, but if he or she is stealing from colleagues, i think you should advise the other colleagues to keep their things far away from the person. thank you.

I can't invest in Nigeria as much as i like to do that because of security that even my staff are dangerous. It's a different story every day. Some people ask me for money I tell them to think of a business when you find one call me then we talk if i think it will work fine, if not keep calling me too dey struggle.

Seek more Evidence

Ask the colleague that you want to have a chat with him, and discuss ur concerns with him. Let him agree that what he is doing is wrong

If after doing that he still continues, then speak to ur seniors. But it might not get to this.

If your company doesn't have anonymous hotlines, create a random email and send anonymously with all the evidences.

PS. Don't send the mail using company Internet.

i cant invest in a business in nigeria if i am not present to oversee it or i can leave when i have built a solid framework for its everyday running asides that nobody would handle your business the way it should be run no matter how trusted the person is. asides security there are companies here still thriving so i would not use that as an excuse not to do business..

In my office, we were made to take a compulsory course on work place sexual harassment and discrimination.

We were made to see how to handle a colleague who discriminates or harrases another person sexually.

The recommendations are:
1. If you can afford to face him, have a word with him.
Else go though a proxy.
The bottom line is he must be made to know that someone somewhere is aware of his acts.
2. Watch him to see if he will change
3. If he does not change, package your documented evidences against him and report to the management.

Note:
You can warn him/report him through proxy or unanimously.

You can create a new mail/profile for this action.
Use it to send the mail and evidences to the management

This works like magic.

I have some colleagues who used an unanimous mail to report their contractor to the management.
The management pays the contractor 900k per personnel.
He is expected to pay them from d 900k.
This guy pays them 150k and pockets the rest. And we are talking of about 10 personnels here.
He collects 900k on your head and pays you just 150k. What a greedy man.
When they found out what the contracts says about their pay, they sent an unanimous mail to the mgt.
The contractor was called for a meeting and rebuked. Then he agreed to pay them 350k going forward.
He was then made to pay them the arrears of 3 years.

Who sent the mail? Unanimous.
Was the case successfully reported unanimously? Yes
Was the issue addressed? Yes

Now everyone is happy, without a particular person being seen as the arrow head.

You better get it right. You have been wrong all the while for keeping it to yourself. Thats ideally.
Realistically if he knows that you are the only one that knows he steals. Amigos keep it to yourself. If you are not the only one use someone else to do the pointing. If this steals your peace of mind. REPORT HIM. Otherwise apply the diamond rule
