There is no job. There is no job. But some people are leaving their great jobs voluntarily. Passion over everything. I concur.

If you have Godfather & extraordinary connection, You can as well quit and concentrate on ur studies, afterall in Nigeria, only those who lack connection & kids of the less privileged will have problems
This is Nigeria...u need only connection... Whether married or unmarried.. .i agree with u..

I won't advise you to quit your job because of any PG programme except you are 100% sure of getting a better job after the programme. If you can run the programme without the approval of your company, please go ahead.

Dear All, recently I wrote a piece https://www.nairaland.com/4951605/female-boss...please-advice-me-please#up about my immediate boss.

However I decided to take the bull by the horn by calling the head office to ask for the approval letter I was expecting for studies since I had applied earlier with my admission letter (masters) and presented a certificate of medical fitness from my recent ill health as requested by the head office.

Surprisingly on calling the head office I got a response that because I recovered recently I will not be granted approval to go for my postgraduate studies even after presenting a certificate of medical fitness as requested with school fees being paid,i tried to explain that i followed due process but the head told me never to talk on the issue again.

Personally I feel I should resign from my present position to a little lower position as to have time to pursue my studies which will eventually lead me to my career dream(lecturing) or should I talk to a higher authority? Please what best advice can I get know, thanks.

i hope you have money saved up for you and your family for 1-2 years during and after your programme. also what is the guarantee you will get the lecturing job after graduation from masters? is there a guarantee to get the low paying job, if you are single, you can go for it

dont be emotional, use your sense, stay in your job and reapply for study leave again or maybe do part-time after getting your masters on the job, start sending your cvs out to universities, once you get the job, you can leave. be patient.

20 years from now, you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did, so throw off the bowlines and sail away from the safe harbor.

If you believe in prayers, pray.

Analyse the worst case scenarios with each line of action you have to make.

Your happiness is in your hands.

Were you pampered by your parents? Nairalanders, someone is toying with his job ooooooo because of masters oooo
You want to resign to a lesser position when you can choose a part-time course. Maybe you have a sponsor or you do not like the job at all.
Probably someone is waiting for your masters to place you somewhere cos the last I recalled, we have more master's graduate and few lecturing jobs.

Just ranting.

Good morning

You are right. OP sounds like one of he's mommy boys who is still living with his parents.

Not so but to have time for my family, where I work is far away from where my family reside and I have asked for a transfer but was turned down except that I accept a lower position before I would be transfer the present post leave little or no room to even visit my family and spend time with them, and also due to nature of my wife job she cannot come down.

Why not get a position as a Graduate Assistant in a Federal University with your Bachelor's degree, then use the Master's admission to obtain study leave. If the Master's admission is from a foreign university, you can defer your admission for one year.

Don't resign your job.

Good morning

He is not wise
People still place so much emphasis on education, when job, salary is actually the most important thing
When one gets more education, getting another job usually becomes more difficult.

People are not in tune with reality.
