I have noticed that whenever there's a horror film that involves a church, it's always a catholic church. It's always one dark, big catholic church with reverend fathers and nuns.

I have seen over hundred horror films acted in the catholic church and it makes me wonder why always catholic? I once saw a horror movie acted inside the Vatican with dead bodies buried in secret graves inside the Covent. In fact, catholic church has become the standard church for acting high selling horror films.

They hardly use pentecostal churches or anglican. Is it because the catholic church is the most spiritual church? Is it because it's the most powerful and richest church?

I don't have answers for the above questions

Maybe because they have the enabling environment and can also allow such act in their premises.

Other churches don't have the history or the gravitas to locate such a story in.

true. They definitely have the perfect environment. I think they also make money from it.

In my opinion its because of the history the Catholic church has, it has existed looong before other sects of Christianity, it has existed during the time of witchcraft, vampires and satanism, it was the Catholic church that banned the practice of witchcraft and the worship of the devil called 'Satanism' so its only fitting that they'd be used when it comes to horror,

the rich history of the Catholic church makes it better at performing most rituals that cannot be performed by other sects, rituals like exorcism that can only be performed by an ordained priest.

and also LATIN. The rituals don’t sound anywhere near so impressive in English as they do in Latin, especially when chanted in plainsong.

Because we are the first and only universal the Catholi church is the only way of depicting Christianity in movies, and because our priest don't fly private jets and sell miracles and annoting

majority of Christians in western world are Catholic members and it's the largest Christian denomination

The Catholic church is more universal and highly acceptable than other mushroom churches. So events within it will have a more higher audience.

Finally, the Catholic church makes use of signs and symbols which are not found in other newer and mushroom churches. Things like the Crucifix, Holy Water, Blessed images, Monstrance, Eucharist, etc. The above named items and holy materials are seen as instrumental in fighting off Demons, Witches and warding of the Devil which are the main villains in a horror movie!
