Good Morning everybody. Please, I have a question about 221G interview. Two dependents who had visas alongside their parents applied for renewal via Dropbox.

Parents visas was renewed but both dependents were called in for a 221G interview. What do they need to take along to the interview? Bank statements? School records? Employment records?
How are these interviews conducted in the general sense?

I would really appreciate answers and/or pointers. Thanks a lot.

What's their age? Did they just cross over to 14 after their last visa? If yes, it's just biometrics they need to give. If no, please go with everything even though documents hardly will be looked at, especially EXPLANATION for previous trips to the US....

My situation. I have a Sister on a H4 visa, even though visiting her is not the purpose of my trip. I applied for tourism purpose and I have never been to the US and this was my first application. I got my degree and master’s in the UK and I still have valid UK visa. However, I have a new passport and the visa is on an old one. In fact I had two old passports in the file with me and I was not asked for them. Interview was in Abuja and while on the line, the slim Black American lady quickly rejected three applicants, while the other windows were still occupied. She did not spend more than a minute on any of them. I was praying not to be directed to hers’ and to be honest, I did not hear the responses of the three because I tuned out. I was now directed to her window.

V.O: Are you travelling alone?
Me: Yes
V.O: Where exactly are you going to?
Me: Atlanta, New Orleans and New York

Me: Arrive Atlanta on the 2nd, WE will take a road trip to New Orleans on the 3rd, Plantation Tour and steam boat cruise on the 4th, Mardi Gras parade on the 5th, Back to Atl on 6th , fly to New York on the 8th, Catch Chicago on Broadway on the 8th, two days tour on 9th and 10th, back to Atl on the 11th, 5 hour sight-seeing tour bus on the 12th, Southern food tour on the 14th, fly back on the 15th.

(the V.O was trying to pronounce my Sister’s name, so I helped her out with it)
Me: She is my Sister

Me: No, my sister

Me: She is on a H4 Visa

Me: She will be in Michigan at the time I plan to travel, but I will see her in subsequent trips

Me: I have been travelling to the UK since I was a year old, I went to school in the UK and I have travelled extensively within the United Kingdom and I still a valid visa (she didn’t ask to see it)
V.O: (hands over a white sheet) this paper explains how you can pick your passport, enjoy your trip
Me: (In shock) thank you, thank you

When people say Visa is God’s doing, that is not a lie. A Pastor with extensive travel history, was denied Visa. I had everything going against me, Sister in the US, Single and of marriageable age. I stammer, especially if am in a tense situation but for some stroke of luck, once I told her I stammer, I did not stutter throughout the interview. Honestly, I avoided any US visa thread on Nairaland for four days before my interview, because the rejections were depressing and I just was reading US visa success stories just to create a positive vibe in my head. I also knew it was not do or die, since I am going on holiday, I figured if they said no, I will go somewhere else. I planned to smile all through but I did not, I was just formal in my responses. Interview was yesterday and this afternoon I got a message that passport is ready for collection. Good luck with to all the applicants, just ensure you know your travel plans and be confident.

ISSUED from where, and to what Nationality? She applied from where too? Is that a FULL VISA?

Hi, every passport has a number. If you're Nigerian, yours would be on the top right corner on the bio-data page of your passport, on the right side of your country code (NGA).

Go check their Sao Tome website that is then to get a firm grasp of what you seek, don’t use the Nigeria measure to gauge this please. She can do Dropbox (if she qualifies for one) from Nigeria sha since that previous visa was granted her here....

Leave blank. PP number is different from PP book number of course, I have seen peeps the number of pages the passport has (32 or 64) and the bottom numbers after the passport number itself. I don’t really understand it and I have always left it blank as not applicable without consequence even once. Those that know better may clarify please....

Tick the “Does Not Apply” box. The regular Nigerian passport doesn’t have a passport book number.

Good afternoon. Please I used my friends email address to fill the DS160 form. When trying to schedule an appointment for myself, I found out he had been using that email for a lady before now and she already has a history of 2different appointments and the email address has her records automatically saved and not mine. Should I go ahead and edit it with my details? Does this necessarily mean? I don't wanna have issues in the future. Please who has experienced something like this before? Thanks

I don't have plans running away to where kwanu to start life again? I only want to get this knowledge from the conference and impact in the youths as we are the future of this country. I'm a member of YipAfrica initiative.

In fact I used him as my contact address. The vo asked me if I was married, I said no, if i have a child I said no. He said sorry you can try again next time.

I don't have to get married for American visa. It's this conference I want to attendooo, I'm not running away, it's a paid conference, paid about $250 , I booked hotel via expedia. Com for 10days.

The gurus in the house should help me pls, I have read all postsooo, I understand every individual case is different, yet to submit ds160, please gurus should help me.

I think you must be have been granted 2 years visa at your last interview before you can qualify for drop box in Nigeria.

If you’ve been refused before stop wasting your money to reapply until you have a concrete reason. It looks as if they’re just refusing tourists for no reason.

Apply to Italy, direct flight is less than 400$ and only 5 hours. From Italy travel to Spain Portugal Amsterdam Slovenia Czech etc. they are beautiful fun and cheaper. The 1000$ you’ll spend on tickets you can use to visit like 5 countries in Europe. I’ve done this before, tickets and hotels within 5 cities cost me only 350€ or so for 12 nights. This does not include international ticket sha.

It’s so obvious they are stricter now, they have their reasons but that 160$ you keep dashing them can pay for one ticket if you add it together.

I don't understand you at all. Why would you use your friend's mail for your application? What happened to yours? This is you guys jeopardize your chances. Please go and open an email address, use it for your application. Don't ever make this type of mistake again.

We know. Unfortunately, they do not know that. Bankers are endangered species to them. I will advice your ciecumstances change before you apply. However, you can still do but just be confidence.

Nah by force to go to America , if they deny you visa in the past , try somewhere else.
