THE problem of Nigeria is hydra headed monster that needs a man with social justice as his mantra to solve it

but it is those of us that planned the revolution that they should have killed, not the three million innocent Biafrans that knew nothing.

Why then were you hiding among the innocent ones?

I hope these people will be rightly guided one day. They see things only from their own perspective with too much lies.

Was Nwobosi not the one that murdered Premier Akintola and his Nephew ? Did he apologise for the bloodshed?

As recorded in history books I have read, Nwobosi came to arrest Akintola but Akintola opens fire on Nwobosi and his men with a rifle. They returned fire and killed Akintola

The thing about the January 15 1966 coup is that for years, people thought the coup was all about making Igbos the Lords of Nigeria.

That was far from the truth. That coup was the only coup in Nigeria where the coup plotters had no intention of seizing power for themselves

"The Government of Tafawa Balewa, controlled by the Premier of Northern Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello, were using us in the army to repress the Middle Belt and Western Nigeria."

Does this not sound familiar today?!

Middle belt..the Tiv region...that one was due to the crisis between Northern Hausas and minorities...a crisis that played out in all the regions by the way.(Minorities vs Majorites)..and led to the agitation for states., and the breakup of the regions (from 1963 on wards..the Midwest region was created for minorities in the Western region.)...

Western Nigeria...the problem started when Akintola and Awolowo disagreed over the future political direction of the South West....which set off the chain of events that led to Awo being jailed for treason, the Operation Wetie...fighting between Awo and Akintola supporters that got so bad...the government was on the verge of declaring a state of emergency when the January 66 coup happened.

We know that Major Patrick Kaduna Nzeogwu NEVER fought for Biafra (as against the media propaganda). He was OBJ's bestie, never a bigot, wanted the best for his country (Nigeria), killed the ethnic bigot (Ahmadu Bello) and wrote a detailed letter to OBJ to summarize his plans. cool

We know that Ojukjwu stripped Major Kaduna of all military exercises and duties cuz he freed him from prison simply to have a stranglehold on him. angry

We know that Ojukwu and Kanu (COW-nu) are COWARDS !!! angry angry Okoro Savages! angry angry

No , Akintola was shot dead after he had surrendered. His son confirmed it. The man should make peace with the Akintola family.
By 1970 he alone of all the officers who had murdered people on the night of January 15 1966 Coup was alive and it may be that God showed mercy to him because of a pregnant woman in labour by the roadside that he halted his convoy to take to Hospital that night. Ademoyega and Chukwuka were part of the Coup but didn’t kill anyone, Chukwuka even tried to save his boss Lt col Pams life But Anuforo insisted on shooting him dead. The Jihad story is not true because Gen Ironsi who was the head of the Army and Ademulegan who was the head of all troops in the North and Louis Edet who was the inspector General of Police and Akinwale Wey who was head of the Navy were all Christians.

I'm not sure about that...read Nzeogwu's speech. That does not sound like someone coming to take power and then give it up in 10 minutes....they were in for the long term.

And the January coup was not an Igbo coup. Otherwise, why was Maj Gen Unegbe killed? Even Ironsi was on the list of targets...but he disarmed the unit sent to assassinate him...after he had been warned by telephone ...

Not true. FFK's father was there live. He was first arrested by Nwobosi then taken to Akintola residence so that Akintola could join him. Akintola chose to open fire instead.

FFK's father would later survive the ordeal without a scratch

Well, if this is the whole truth, we have to be on the guide in Nigeria - sleep with one eye open. But I have some questions. I like to be objective. You people wanted to save Yorubas and the Middle belters, but aren't there officers from these areas then who should feel scandalized enough to act with you? Why was it a near Ibo revolt?

The reason why they were all so young was simple. The Brtiish had, over the preceding 15 years, rapidly Nigerianizing the Army.

By 1950...ten years to independence....we had zero Nigerian officers in what was called the Royal West African Frontier Force.

Over the next ten years, an officer corps was rapidly trained. In the process...a lot of people got promoted quite quickly especially as independence approached.

Hence the relatively youthful age of many officers back then.

Papa Nwobosi has nothing to lose, so why should he lie. The north wanted to destroy our yorubaland with wetie-wetie, revolutionaries from the East revolted. We yorubas who are supposed to be thanking these soldiers wallow in all kinds of propaganda including calling it an 'IBO coup' and even joined hands to kill Eastern women and children.

The coupists were going to release Awolowo and make him the Prime-Minister. Akintola was a puppet to the duo of the Sardauna and Tafawa Balewa... Akintola was the man that they used to destabilise the Western region.

Nigeria is a weird country, people see the truth - stark naked - yet feign blind.

Ahmadou Bello himself had played his hands early, probably due to oversight or sheer confidence. He had declared in a famous speech: "we will use the minorities as a willing tool and we shall NEVER allow them control their destiny...Nigeria shall be an extension of the estate of our grandfather (Dan Fodio)..." It remains a mystery how people would doubt the account of several witnesses - that the Sardauna had an evil agenda for the rest of Nigeria - even when the Sardauna had confirmed it in the most overt of ways!

The Sardauna was a first-class bigot and Tafawa Balewa was his stooge. He had said, in one of his interviews, that instead of the northern establishment appointing a Nigerian from the South (Igbo/Yoruba), he would rather appoint a foreigner. This is a fact! Google it...

People may continue to play the ostrich, but one thing that is clear is that those very things that the coupists highlighted are still very much with us this day: have the minorities in the Middlebelt been able to control their destinies; have they not been pushed out of their communities and farms? Are they not under a systematic existential threat?

The peoples of the Middlebelt can continue to fool around oblivious of what adversity confronts them. They joinned in the genocide against the Igbos (and Eastern minorities) - they are indeed 'tools'.

Are the Fulanis still not overlords of millions of Yoruba people in Ilorin?

Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu was an Igboman that had completely aculturized - he was a stark Hausaman. That coup was not an Igbo coup as we have been meant to understand. There was an overwhelming preponderance of Igbos in the officer cadre of the army at that time, and there was no way the army would put together an operation without there being a preponderance of Igbos - common sense. An Igbo coup would never have aimed to free a certain Awolowo (who was jailed by the administration of Balewa) and make him Prime-minister... The coupists did not seek power for themselves, not even for the military as a whole.

Nigeria has a date with history. We can sidestep it as much as we like (History was actually knocked off our curriculum at a time), but it will surely come up...the day is at hand.

Nigerians keep insulting this man and dismissing his Biafran Agenda. But step by step it continues to grow, many drops of water eventually turn to a puddle. They keep pressing, they keep wooing the Ibos . One day they might win them over eventually. They might create enough awareness, they might become politically structured. They might get referendum.
This looks to me like the first steps of history, like humble beginnings. I have this feeling all this struggle will define the history and birth of a nation called Biafra.
As a non Ibo I would also like to dismiss Biafra but something tells me not to
