thank you for your kind response.

here are reasons for the delayed

1, I am not satisfied that you will leave canada at the end of your stay based on your travel history
2, purpose of visit
3, personal assets and financial status.

here is my email address: atitebiomolara216@gmail.com

For the gcms note, kindly go back the thread, u can start from 160 tp this point..i believe som1 posted a link of how to get your gcms note...wen did u apply?... from reasons u pointed out, u have to work on convincing the VO that u are coming to Canada to study, u can go further to explain how your course of study is important to your home country and u do not have reasons to stay back in canada after studies, u can also use properties u intend to inherit to show that you are definitely coming back after studies, finally..u as well, get an affidavit of coming-back or return...stating that u will return after your stay in canada...

In my assumption ....refusal on purpose of visit...........means that the VO was not convinced that your purpose of visit is actually to study.......probably,

1.) the choice of discipline is not in line with previous studies or current employment
2.) the choice of discipline is not economically viable in Nigeria.............so after schooling, the PA would not return to naija...because there are no good jobs based on the course studied.
3.)The level of education sought, is below already attained educational level

The myth is that, "purpose of visit" can be well tackled with a good SOP, elucidating the economical viability of the proposed course and level of studies....and also defining the need for a career change where this is applicable.

How much is the balance on your SOA and your sponsors SOA.. the standard amount needed in your sponsors account should be 10,000cad, after paying the 1st year tuition fees..while yours should be around N5M..if it's less den I guess that's why..

Hope this helps...thats my 2kobo though people might have better opinions

Wait .. I hope you are not trying to come to Canada, get jobs and think of paying your fees via those jobs? For me to give you proper advice, I hope it is not Ontario, London you are coming to? I am not saying it is impossible but make sure you ask the right questions and know the exact province/territory you should be.

You cannot make 2000CAD monthly after tax as a student who is new in Canada except you work more than 20 hours a week. Why would you want to break the law when you can become a PR in 3 years? It is not worth it.

My advice for any hustler is bring money along for your fees and extra change (at least for first semester), don't come during winter because getting jobs for hustlers (if you know what i mean) is harder during winter, choose the right school (make sure they accept installments and you have an idea of duration), province and city. Your location matters a lot if you know you are a hustler. You will understand better when you get to Canada.

Asides fees, there are some modules they will tell you to register for online and you have to pay. I currently have a module where I have to pay 123CAD for online and it is compulsory because there are assignments I need to submit via the site.

Also, choose the right programs. Most Programs with Co-op allows you to work for up to 8 months or even a year. You get paid and work full time after completing 2 semesters with a good CGPA (please confirm from your school the terms and conditions of their coop). This is good because you earn while schooling and get the Canadian work experience as well.

God help us all.

You have said it all bro. I always advise people to make sure they have enough cash to cover at least first year tuition and living expenses (at least), cos most people think it is very easy to work as a student(without breaking the law) and still be able to pay tuition fee & living expenses from it. Also, they might even get the job but academic stress won't give them the time to do the job.

Hi Nairalanders,
I have been accepted to study MSC @Mcgill University Quebec for fall 2019. I have been told to apply for Quebec Acceptance Certificate for studies which will take a minimum of 21days bf I get approval before I will start my visa application. Based on comments I have been reeding here,I dont know whether the Quebec Acceptance certificate for international students will delay my visa procceses .I have an option to defer the admission to winter 2020 .Please,I need advice from gurus and samples of SOP ....my email is selemoalex@rediffmail.com
You have enough time to apply for your Quebec acceptance cert and also apply for your TRV. Fall is still very far(about 8 months).
NB: You don't have to drop your email for people to contact you with the info you seek.

If there are any January applicant(s) present, was the current update(if any gotten) or any sign to indicate the visa office in charge of the processing whether online or paper app

Please, I would like to ask...
What advice would you give to someone who wants to sponsor themselves? With a bank balance of 15k cad. Would this be an advantage or must you have a sponsor different from oneself?

Thanks
Nothing bad if you are sponsoring yourself but I want you to remember that when filling your study permit form, there is a section where you have to input the total amount of your finances ( tuition, 10k, plus miscellaneous fee). 15kcad may not be enough depending on your tuition fee, I will advise you find a co-sponsor. You can be the main sponsor paying your tuition fee, while your co-sponsor provided the miscellaneous fee.

Good afternoon house..... Please on my visa office instruction, there's a upfront medical but it's "if applicable". Should I do the upfront medical or wait for the medical call?

Please if you have sent me an email, unfortunately I cannot answer your questions as I have a lot of work to do. I come here when I am tired or a little bit free. Canada education is very demanding.

If you dont mind, you can ask your questions here and one of the gurus on this forum will respond. When i am free, i would also come in and drop comments.

I do apologise.

Let me get you clearly.. you mean photocopies should be separate while original.. separately Thanks...

U are not suppose to submit ur Original Waec result. The only Original documents you will be submitting are letters addressed to the embassy. i.e Statement of Account, Letter of Sponsorship e.t.c, all other documents should be photocopy except you don't wanna see ur WAEC result again for life cos the embassy does not return any document to the applicant whether Approved or rejected.. And as for the Passport, you will submit ur real passport since you are going through Paper route, unlike Online application that they will be the one to request for it. Peace

Congrats to everyone who's gotten their approval and to others please don't give up yet.

Please house I need some clarity. A friend applied for study permit since early last year and hasn't received any response. VO is London and GCMS just arrived. Eligibility is review required and going through the notes, there is no comment on why eligibility is review required. Although Criminality is passed, security is blank. A page of the document is redacted and some pages have 16(1)c 19(1) on them.

Please seniors, can you shed some light to possible reasons why this is so. I really appreciate.

Hey guys,

I have been a silent follower on this page. I did an online application. My first application. This is my timeline.

Submitted: 28th Sept
Biometric done: 11 Oct
Ordered GCMS notes: 19th Nov 2018
GCMS notes came back : 21st Dec
Eligibility review/Medical request: 28th Nov
Medicals done: 4th Dec
Medical passed: 11th dec

After this I didn't hear anything from them. Sent them an email and also laid a complained via webform.

Approval came 10th Jan. I will submit my passport tomorrow.
I want to know from people that have gotten theirs how long it will take for my passport to return. I am worried I won't be able to meet up with classes and all this Jan. But I really want to make it. I am meant to resume in University of Calgary, MEng in Electrical and computer engineering

Documents submitted are;

-International passport

-Letter of acceptance from my school. Including my letter of deferral from Sept 2018to Jan 2019

-Proof of funds: Personally sponsored...My ARM money market (7.3m), savings account (3.6m), dollar account ($ 6913)
The total was about 12m

- Letter of reference from ARM and GTbank

- Certificate of registration of business name (for my sister)
- I did a partnership agreement with a lawyer, showing that I own a share in my sister's company. I did this becos friends advised me to have something strong for home times. I did not have land so I made this partnership agreement and back dated it. Explain in my SOP that I was going to come back to continue running the business with my sister.

- work ID card, employment letter, promotion letter, 6 months pay slip

- receipt of payment for my University of of Calgary application. Also receipt of payment of $500 to the school as admission confirming deposit

- SOP - I used from samples I saw online and a friend's own. Explained that I had a good job but wanted to further my studies to help me move to another Dept of my company. Also explained I had travelled to UAE twice for work training and also to Ghana, Cameroon and Chad. And I also was returned back to Nigeria.

-at the end, I did a summary of my expecting expense for 1year including return ticket to Nigeria. Then I did a summary of how much I had in my account to show that I have enough money.

I attached to my SOP , my CV, bachelor degree certificate and, IELTS result, birth cert, old passport showing visa stamps to those countries I mentioned, UAE visas I got both times I travelled, training certificates I got from the training in UAE.

Thanks to all that share their experiences here. I also hope my experience helps.

Please I need answers, do you guys this I can still make Jan intake?

Hello bro ..is self sponsorship an added advantage?

It simply means eligibility review is ongoing in the application.
The moniker doesn’t understand Gcms note cause they are a lot to say in that application plus the VO is hiding some vital information from the applicant.
I just don’t have the strength to start explaining now.
I noticed people are more concerned about the comment being laid From the VO in Gcms note
Trust me, they are more and more to say asides from the VO’s comment especially when they haven't taken the final decision on the application.
Every page in the Gcms note has meaning but we tend to ignore and jump only in the VOs comment.
