When are you guys going to stop with the rumors and sensationalism? Show me where he said he has no desire to sign long term for the Celtics or that Boston will be renting him? I mean a credible source, please.

These were AD's comments hours ago, particularly the emboldened, follow the link and watch the video attached.

"Davis, who turns 26 next month, rejected the idea that he has specifically requested a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, saying neither he nor his representation gave the Pelicans a specific trade destination or a timetable in which to trade him.

"I'm not sure where that's coming from. Maybe a connection with my representation," Davis said of agent Rich Paul, who also represents LeBron James.

The trade deadline is Thursday, but Davis remains under contract through 2020. So the Pelicans could wait until the offseason to deal him -- especially because the Boston Celtics will be in a position to make them a stronger offer by then."

I guess AD Won’t be going to Celtic. According to his father’a message, he doesn’t want him to go to Celtic cos of what they to Isiah Thomas

Ever heard of hand of Jacob, voice of easy? Anthony Davis is saying all the right things in public while his dad is doing the dirty work. The timing of his dad's comment immediately after Davis interview is clearly his camp saying : forget what I told the media abt not having a preference of trade destination, I frigging do.

What's the odds that Davis has spoken with kyrie and he told him that the organization feels creepy and that he's leaving in free agency?
You are very intelligent.

So yes his father said that, but it is still the kids decision to make.

Okay it is Brow's decision but why will a dad send an unsollicted message like that to a journalist and tell her to print it? Just a few hours AD said in public he didn't mind been traded anywhere? grin . Bro read between the lines.

Are these possible scenarios? Absolutely, especially if you consider the timing.. but again, the buck stops with the Pelicans. The Lakers understand the risk of allowing AD go into the summer and that is why there is so much desperation and panic in LA. If he goes to the Lakers, I definitely hold no ill feelings but the Celtics have definitely made their intentions known.
The Lakers have until Thursday to make all their machination, disruption and smear campaign happen.

It is quite sad how the IT issue ended. I have always believed that no player should play through injury for any team, cause the phrase 'its a business' will end up been used to describe the teams decision down the line.
The truth is it is very possible IT never gets fit enough to play at a high level

Danny Ainge's brain must be overloaded right now after hearing from Kyrie and AD's camp. He must know that not landing Kyrie or AD would leave him positively phucked

Very sad. It's why I'd never fault players for trying to get the most value neither do I blame the teams for making business decisions. It is what it is, you got to look at it from both angles all the time

You have to have some sort of loyalty. Danny Ainge didn't. He knew he wasn't going to resign IT right from the beginning, If he had told IT not to play at all since it might mess something to give him a better chance of getting paid on another team in the future, I would say that is some form of loyalty.

But there was none. None at all, and it hurts me for IT because he hadn't gotten his big payday yet, and Danny Ainge and the whole of Boston Celtics messed that up for him. He would never get that anymore.

So I am.damn sure supporting the players as they all look out for themselves.

I wouldn't want to do business with a cold businessman like that either, and if anyone ask me what I would do if I was in Ainge shoes? I would have probably done the same thing Sha.

He would never be fit enough. Age plus injury.

He would never get a big pay day.

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't Anthony Davis always getting injured every now and then?

Albeit not serious but still valid.

I am sure his pops is looking at it like this: what happens if my son's get injured? Will he be in the trade news how would he be treated? Will Ainge be brash about it like he was to IT? Think we all know the answer
Re: The NBA Begins by donlittle25: 5:31pm On Feb 02, 2019
This is why I said only Boston has the right package to close the deal.

I mean look at this trash from Lakers.

Its high time players started learning from history. DO NOT PLAY THROUGH THE PAIN BARRIER OR RETURN TOO EARLY FROM AN INJURY FOR ANY REASON.
Isiah Thomas, Grant hill, TMac, and IT are examples of what happens when they let their heart rule them.

This is not about blinders because the hypocrisy from fans of other teams on this thread about this IT ish is annoying to read. The last time I checked there were 29 other teams that over looked IT before the Celtics took a chance on him. The Celtics provides a platform and support through coaching and the organization for him to earn his 2 all star selections. Before the Celtics he could barely get playing time in Phoenix and prior to that he was let go by the Kings!!! Where were all of you during this time? Every other team executive was hesitant to take a shot worth more a long term commitment on IT. So what’s all the noise and emotional outbursts about?

Is IT a max player? Even without the injury? Would you, your Rockets build your franchise around him? I am not knocking him because he has my support anyway anytime but it would stretching the truth for anyone to remotely conclude that any franchise was going to pay him that max money. Would you give a 5’4(forget the official listing) player max contract? He got injured and because of his physique it has been impossible for him to return to normal and that is the truth and you wanted the Celtics to build the franchise around him with the big bucks? I feel bad that he got hurt and played injured for us but it is hypocritic the way you and other guys have chosen to demonize the Celtics because of the situation. PG13 broke his leg but has come back stronger, if he had IT’s physique I would bet my last time that he may not return and be the player we are watching today.

If IT got hurt playing for another team, including the Rockets would you vouch they would pay him the max? There was an opportunity to avoid the max and get Kyrie on a 2 year rental and there is all these backlash?
The Celtics are a team of history and we have shown tremendous loyalty from time immemorial on all our players and TD Garden is home to all our ex players why are we judged by one difficult situation?

I have no regrets and truth be told, if AD chooses to join the Lakers or any other team, I wish him luck and all the best because it is his decision. Same goes with Kyrie and any other player who wakes up and says he does not want to play for us. No one has said anything about the loyalty shown to other players but are quick to bedevil the team.

I agree and understand what you mean. That's why I'm always in support of any player that wants to leave a situation not favorable to them so long as they're not being an asshole and locker room cancer.

But like you said at the end if you're Danny Ainge how do you hold on to IT when a younger Kyrie Irving is available? Makes zero sense

The only karma here is the money they didn't want to pay IT is what they are paying Hayward for his wack production but unfortunately IT'S career is now at the crossroads

And low-key Brook Lopez has been one of the steals of the season. The amount of spacing he gives and allows Giannis to operate in is a thing of beauty

Danny ainge did the right thing.
IT has the right to feel betrayed.
Doesn't look good for the Celts with free agency signing going forward.
Even the franchise tag fee isn't stopping players from bolting.
Top priority should be to keep kyrie, pray Tatum and brown become perennial all-stars, also that Hayward makes a full PG like recovery.
Davis won't come.

Was just having deep thoughts about the similarities in the A.D trade, Kyrie's response about commitment to the Celtics, Porzingis trade etc and other transfers that may have cut across the NBA and other sports and the two options that came out had to do with the player's preference or the league/club's preference....

Concerning the A.D trade, some fans are saying A.D should have considered the Pelicans and maybe waited till the Summer where it is supposed to benefit the Pelicans more while others (including me) feel a player should be able to decide his future at any time and go where he will be happy, not minding what will come of the Club or league..I know the argument could be there that these players have been offered huge contracts at a young age to keep them "supposedly" loyal to the club...Almost the same thing happened with Porzingis where he was obviously unhappy with the direction of the organization.

In summary,i feel athletes should be free to make decisions and move to where they want to where they feel they will end up happy....

Feel free to add your opinion and you can also disagree with mine..We learn everyday wink wink

Actually asking for a trade now favors the Pelicans, they have about 6 extra months to make a decision. Also they can decide to tank for the remainder of the season and get a draft pick higher up in the lottery.
A player has between 15-25 years max to both make money and solidify a legacy, guys like the mail man and Charles Barkley are players whose legacy would have been enhanced if they won a championship

Absolutely nothing wrong with what AD did. He tried his best for the team, If I'm the Pelicans GM though I'm sitting AD rest of the season --he's papier mache and can't risk any injury that would drop his trade value any lower than necessary-- and I wouldn't be hurried into a trade. I will take the best offer available whether from the Lakers or any other team
