Hayward’s defense is under rated.

Scary Terry is spectacular when he keeps it simple.

How about D. Theis?

We just need to stay healthy.

Fresh start away from all the noise and expectation. The Sixers situation became toxic for him especially with the win now expectation.

I Wish him all the best.

Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 4:45am On Feb 08, 2019
I will keep saying it , the Lakers are not an 8th seed, any team with lebron is not a usual 8th seed. iinjuries derailed them this season and the warriors will still beat them in a 7 game series but its gonna be tough. I don't want the warriors playing them in the first round sad. If they can shot free throws they would have given the healthy Celtics a smackdown today.
And you guys can put down all that shit about team chemistry disruption at least for now cheesy . Adversity can break a team, but it can also galvanize them.
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:47am On Feb 08, 2019
Bad loss tonight, we defended the perimeter poorly and this is partly because of the scouting report about the perimeter scoring of the Lakers.

That being said, I will take a buzzer beater from one of my favorite PG in Rondo.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:16am On Feb 08, 2019
Lol it's probably a sign it's not your year when Rajon Rondo is making buzzer beaters on you

Gasol to the Raptors. This makes them probably the strongest defensive frontcourt in the league. I hate to say it guys but the Eastern Conference would be where the action is. Especially after the first round
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:21am On Feb 08, 2019
Lol Giannis would make a terrible GM is all I have to say

And LeBron taking KD first. Lmaooooo so predictable

Weird that they traded him for a guy who can't even get into the Orlando Magic team. They must have completely written off Markelle Fultz. What a pity

At some point the owners are going to fight back, I keep saying it. They choose to stay quiet while the players have continued to blackmail them on social media and other avenues. The next collective bargaining meeting is going to be a difficult one I can assure you guys. This has gone too far.

Its like getting a job, and they offer you 100k salary. But you are sharp...you checked glassdoor. You checked levels.fyi. So you insist on 115k. The company comes back and pays you 110k.

The company is not mad at you. They make millions off your thousands. Your extra 5k is a drop in the bucket. In fact, your boss respects you more.

This is what negotiation is like. The players have nothing to be afraid of. Kudos to Lebron leading the way. And younger playets like Durant, etc following suit. While many of these guys are enemies on the court, you are increasingly seeing them forge partnerships, even friendships off the court.

This feels like the current data science job market. The guy with a stanford phd and industry exposure is naming their salary right now. Why not the best ballers in the world?

Dont let all these owners bamboozle you with storied histories lol. At the end of the day, they look out for their own money. Players aint slavess either. Get some! No fear ! smiley

I'm not sure they care. They made their moves purely out of spite and pettiness, I actually put the blame squarely on Rich Paul who was not so 'Clutch' with his laughable lack of tact and diplomacy and failed attempt at trying to strongarm his client out of NOLA. Even LeNomad did not pull this stunt with 18 months left to run on his deal

Your analogy should shoot you in your face. Have you ever heard of tenured contract jobs? If you have ever signed a tenured contract job, you must stay until the end of your contract. There are severe penalties if your choose to leave your tenured contract before it expires no matter the offer from competitors.

Priced assets are tenured, once you sign, you understand the implications but you also know you are respected and deemed an important piece for being tenured. The health sector and academia in the US have many tenured jobs. In tenured situations which is close to NBA contracts, you don’t force a move away, letting go is up to your employer but you are reasonable enough to know that you don’t breach the contract because even potential employers will be scared of long commitments with you after you are tenured.

Stop making excuses, there is a reason why it is called a contract bro. Stick to the rules of the contract and respect especially when there is no clause supporting a breach.

Im not sure Rich Paul is that tactless. I think anything that involves LA or NYC will have a media buzz so strong it will overwhelm any shred of truth. We dont really know how AD presented his case. Or what Lebron said exactly. But the Pelicans front office will be the biggest losers in all this. I would have expected this to temper their reaction.

There are many things that Lebron does that he gets flak for rightfully. On this one, Im with LBJ. To the extent you can use your status to better yourself, do so. This is an Ali moment...a decade from now, folks will realize it

Its a negotiated contract. You know that the job you have right now is a contract right? There are employment laws on the books put bounds on how you can be fired. Even in right to work states. And there are rules that state how that contract can be modified.
Everything done so far is within the law of the contract! You understand that right?

Before you respond, I need you and every one else on this thread yo realize it. Your job is a negotiated contract. You make less than ballers maybe. But the principle is the same. Hate Lebron if you want, but get your pen and papet and take notes. This is how you succeed in life.

Baba, just stop it already. The players breaching the already negotiated contract. They have gone farther with tampering and speaking about their contract situations openly while they are still employed. Abeg is that not a serious breach? If it goes to court, I can assure you that the players will lose severely and will have to pay their employee and remain in the contract.

Contracts are renogotiated after the expiration of the current one. You don’t wake up one morning and decide you are done on a tenured contract and then choose where your employer sends you. Employers who offer tenured contracts would be hesitant to employ you because you will do the same thing to them. Furthermore, employers in tenured contract situations don’t tamper will employees who are still contracted to another employer. It is a basic rule.

Stop shooting yourself in the face.

Lol Ali loun loun. That's a huge stretch bro! There's nothing Aliesque about what he is doing.

The Pelicans would only lose if AD gets hurt. If he's healthy the offer would still stand either from the Lakers or other teams willing to take that punt. Remember AD has no say on where he gets traded to regardless, he can only opt to not extend with them.

Taking shorter term deals is the only way to circumvent these scenarios which KD and LeNomad showed in his second stint with the Cavs but how many players can afford to take that gamble? Remember the teams also bear the cost if the player ends up a dud. Luol Deng, Chandler Parsons, Otto Porter, Evan Turner, Hayward, Jabari, Lavine, Barnes, Carroll, Kanter. the league is flush with terrible deals and unlike the NFL these monies are fully guaranteed so the narrative that the players are victims or being held under duress or painting it like a hostage situation is a bit misplaced IMO

I definitely dont like those situations where players get a big payday then refuse to show up on the court. But I think we still need to be fair to all parties involved. There will always be cheats and lazy workers. You cant get rid of this risk wether its mcdonalds or the nba.

Speaking of which, on your list, im not sure I can fault Kanter. They shut him down even though he wanted to play.

That's why I always disagree with the narrative that paints the team or owners as villains all the time. For every trade or unfair moves there are always even more instances of players not playing up to the level of their deals.

The worst case scenario in the NBA is you get traded maybe to a less than ideal situation but at least you still get your bar, you can replace Kanter with Wiggins then, bear in mind that the teams however have to pay a permacrock for example like Joakim Noah or Chandler Parsons who has not stepped into a court in over 2 seasons. Let's be keeping the same energy

LeNomad is not some sort of social crusader like you're trying to paint here. If not for the Davis scenario he no for chook mouth for Harrison Barnes matter and we both know this

No doubt, Lebron is not a choir boy. Even social crusaders often have selfish interests. I am sure that is the case to some extent with Lebron. Such is the nature of change though...we lionize such people decades later, but everyone has flaws.

The reason I compared to Ali is that in his time, Ali was considered a dumb tool, even by some NOI members. Today more people know him than the founder of NOI. Still, flawed as he was, in the middle of the hype, there was some good change.
