As you might have noticed, I am run an active ad on the Auto forum (1st pic attached). A click on that add will bring you to this thread. 2nd pic also shows how much I have spent so far in ads. My original intention was to keep this thread clean for enquiries and publishing of daily deals. But like you rightly mentioned in your post, visibility is the key here.

A combination of ads redirecting to this thread plus the clean form of this thread was not enough to bring the kind of customer engagement that is required to justify the amount spent in ads alone not minding other overhead costs. Therefore, although this might disappoint, I have to add this thread to the old method of regular updates to increase its visibility.

The first 3 pages are clean. I think in 3 pages, a prospective client should get the message of what my platform is all about. I will open new threads (if you don't mind, I'd give you a mention) and do my best to keep the first 3 pages clean. After that, I have to revert to visibility.

I understand your rationale but as someone who works in the advertising industry, I have to say that you're going about it the wrong way. Engagement is key for business and the visibility your ads provide isn't worth it if you aren't actually having people reach out to you as a direct result.

This thread should have been completely dedicated to customer interactions. You will make more money from doing that in the long run. Trust me on that.

Take a hint from similar threads. Acunon, Jaid, Mayorall all have dedicated threads for actual product advertising and lead communications, and they're just about the biggest in their respective fields here on Nairaland. People are less inclined to reach out to you if they see that your thread is filled with canned, mostly irrelevant posts.

Social proof is very important, and you're about to bury most of your social proof in this thread.

There used to be a rule about the number of posts dealers could make. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be in existence any more. It does seem like several dealers are spamming the first couple of pages in the auto section, and you're the worst offender by far.

I mean, you have 21 posts on the first page in this section, with many of those being ancient threads from 2015 that you keep evergreen for inexplicable reasons. Why?

I mean, you're not the only one, but this isn't good etiquette at all, and it makes me even want to visit this section even less.

Don't touch the glass when changing headlight
bulbs :Most headlight bulbs now are filled with halogen and have special coatings on the outside of
the glass. If you pick the bulb up by the glass with your fingers, you will leave trace amounts of oil and grease on the glass. When the bulb is used, that area of the glass will get hotter than the rest and it will eventually cause the bulb to crack. When changing headlight bulbs, only hold the metal bulb holder at the base, or make sure you're wearing rubber surgical / mechanic's gloves (clean ones) if you're touching the glass.
