Gifts are being given to people daily by their families, lovers, friends, colleagues and so on. I'm just wondering if it's really polite to ask for the price or just accept and appreciate it.
Nairalanders, would you rather accept without asking or accept and ask ?
Your opinions please.

Why on earth should you ask for price of gift given to you? You wanna sell it?

Why ask for the price it's a gift not that you gave them the money to help you buy it and you're expecting to get your change

gifts are surprise packages from a heart of love without monetary consideration attached to it, so for courtesy sake it's unwise to ask the monetary value of it .

Is not proper, a simple thank you should do.

Agreed! And if I'm overly curious, I check the price online.
