The Oshodi-Apapa Expressway calls for quick intervention and urgent measures. This is the road that leads to the nation's seaport that fetches billions in terms of revenue to both the federal government and the state government. Apapa-Oshodi Expressway has been an eyesore not only to state government but to the federal government, both kept pushing the blames to each other and nothing is done, Nigerians are going through massive hell on this road daily.

A Nigerian man named Stephen Ehikioya who piles the road daily writes this piece and attach these images below...

"A bad government cannot only be called as a 'bad' government; the real adjective should be this: Enemy! Yes, bad government is a real enemy for the country it governs, an enemy within!”

In 2018, the Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said a total of 343,471 metric tons of agricultural produce, mineral resources and other exportable valued at N57 billion were exported out of Nigeria through the Apapa port between January and July 2018.


The Command also announced that it generated N210 billion revenue within the period under review.

Prof. Osinbajo, Nigeria Vice President paid an unscheduled visit to Apapa on July 20, 2018, and directed relevant government agencies to immediately embark on the decongestion of the Wharf Roads and the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway to allow for free flow of traffic. I spent two hours on Oshodi - Apapa Wharf road this morning. What has happened the morning after the Vice President's visit, the Lagos State Governor's visit, the stupendous money realized at Apapa Wharf daily?

"People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people."

So, where is the money?

That place na no go area.
I always pity the tokunbo vehicles plying that route, because they take the beaten of their lifes with that road.
Gutter filled with trash and disposable take away packs.
No road to pass.
My mother was once stuck in traffic there from 11pm - 5:30am.
With the revenue being generated from that port everyday, That area should be like london.
There was once a place called apapa, the city with bright lights and beautiful night life, but now its garbage .

The issue in that area is spreading like wild fire and the trucks are moving forward to mile 2 , double parking on the express road down to Cele.
But the government won’t do nothing about it because they all own this trucks and using other people to pose as the owners.
The hazard of this trucks parked on the highway is very dangerous , causing serious accidents .
If it were a civilian vehicle parked on the road it’d be towed in no time.

Nigeria government and infrastructure is like Danfo driver and his Danfo. if the danfo do not break down at the middle of the road or completely break down somewhere, the driver will continue to manage the danfo even if it is possible not to fuel the car so far it is generating income for him.

Passing through that route describes the situation of Nigeria. There is no way you go through that place and your life will remain the same.

It's a question you and I need to ask our Government.. It's so pathetic and worrisome.

I have passed through that Apapa wharf road on my several visits to Lagos and I'll tell you why nothing is being done about the state of that road


Some useless boys from one part of the country ( i don't want to sound tribal) who engage in what is known as "Owo mi da" chase the drivers of the trucks conveying the containers from the wharf and extort them daily! The bad nature of the road is to slow the drivers down so these urchins can comfortably climb the foot ramp of the driver side of the truck and collect"egunje" from the drivers.

Now the question of where the monies go to...
