For the most part of the season their defending was not good enough for a much improved la liga but they are getting it together and the proof is the pudding. Their only problem is that Valencia is equally much improved but I believe they have better depth.

Samu resting was massive for them and I back him to kick on from now till the end of the season

Agreed thank God you know Valencia is much improved

Samu should start next laliga game seems he was rested in the Europa league

Akpeyi has been relegated to the bench after his error.

I expect Akpeyi to retire from.the national team after the AFCON.. Or Rohr closes the door to him... there's nothing he can offer us anymore.

Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu will miss Nigeria ’ s next two games due to injury , the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF ) said on Friday.
The Super Eagles play the Seychelles in their last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on March 22 then take on Egypt in a friendly four days later .
Nigeria are top of Group E on 10 points ahead of South Africa on 9, Libya on 7 and Seychelles on 1pt, with this weekend’ s match concluding the preliminary group round .
Both matches are due to be played in the southern city of Asaba .
Team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye said youth team captain Ikouwem Udoh , 19, would replace 21-year - old Kalu , whose mother was recently kidnapped and held for a week until a ransom was paid .
Udoh , who plays for club side Enyimba , is a left -back who has played for Nigeria ’ s home -based team, which lost in the final of last year’ s African Nations Championship to Morocco.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has said he is keen to get more left -sided players into the squad in the run- up to the AFCON tournament in June .
Why replace him with a full back?? Is Rohr not aware of our lack of AMs??

Inviting 50 players is not the Issue. Inviting players that can add value is the main thing.

Are you confident going to the AFCON with only ONE natural AM in the entire team and that man is over 30 years old and hasn't played in the SE since the WC?. What if Mikel gets injured or loses form? What then?.

Is there no AM worth his salt in the entire NPFL and NNL?. What of backwater European leagues? We can't find anyone there too?. Can't we bring back Sone Aluko or Hope Akpan for a bench role at least?. Anything is better than nothing.

I blame lazy scouting for our current plight.

Gernot Rohr has work to do.

We need at least two new CM's. We can't play a tourney with only Etebo in CM. Onazi's form has dipped lately and adding that to his current injury woes, it's not looking too good for him. Joel Obi is out of the question. Ogu is too slow to play CM. Mikel will be deployed at AM, Ndidi at DM.

So if Etebo gets injured or loses form, we may well start to think of how to play without a CM.

Modified:Chukwueze,Mikel and Iwobi can play the AM role.

He could try Samu at that position. If not AMs, replace him with another winger. I heard Etebo might miss the game.

There is a monumental difference between me saying that a MOTM awards is indicative and recognition of outstanding quality. And what you have stated in the bold is MISREPRESENTATION and intentionally MISLEADING.

I brought in the term CONTEXT. A player getting a MOTM award in Liverpool and Manchester city, with truly world class players all around you. Is a far greater recognition of quality as well as much much harder to achieve. In comparison to a lower level club and league.

In that context, l have watched Rotherham this is not a club playing good quality technical football like Derby County, West Bromwich, Aston Villa, Reading, Swansea, etc or we can go to league one where Sunderland, Peterborough and Charlton play good level technical football. And even descend to League 2 where MK Dons still play good quality technical football in a very physical huff and puff, endeavour kick and rush league.

I look at matters with the additional context of the kind of football that has been played in the SE historically and our cultural ethos where football is concerned.

Back to Ajayi Rotherham pump the ball in the air (police game) and get thier big men to fight for it. One of the more prominent big men for them is Ajayi. That style suits him and is essentially his style. Clubs and managers get the players that fall in line with thier style of football. That's the context in which l look at him.

If Mahrez was in that team he would be anonymous he just would not be able to play good football and probably never win a MOTM award.

So understand the context and do not consider matters in isolation, but with a holistic view.

I am writing to educate not indict.

Wasn't Leicester playing kick and rush football when Mahrez was there?

Now, you want to have a holistic view of things, but before now, you were all parochial about what makes a player worthy of national team call up.

Well, good morning to you sir!

Bobby Adekanye will be a free agent in the summer and Lazio are very keen to acquire his signature...

He is a good composed and focused kid.

Actually with 100% desire to play for Nigeria, he speaks Yoruba fluently as well as a couple of other European languages.

Football wise his finishing needs improving.

If he wants to play for Nigeria, he can start from the u-20 or u-23 ... He hasn't even made his mark for Liverpool reserve team so a SE call up is totally out of question

Sone Aluko has always been outstanding quality.

If he hadn't been blinded by the £1 million sign up fee Reading offered he would be in the EPL playing for Fulham.

Since 2015 Reading fc have had about 7 managers with no manager lasting more than a year. That's a club in chaos.

Now his team is in free fall and playing survival football and technical players are considered a luxury. And He had been shipped off to China by the owners to enjoy Chinese money.

Otherwise when Aluko played for Nigeria he was in the EPL and clearly outstanding. In one game he came on as substitute against South Africa and rescued the game for us with his goal.

But after that literally forgotten by the NFF.

He can not play for the U20 he has already played for Holland. However, there may be an opportunity for the Olympic team.

I agree he has not done anything to justify a call up. He needs to go on loan and prove himself. Going to Italy he may end up on the bench.

Well, good morning to you sir!

Go back and look at the composition of the Leicester team and consider what you have presented.

Who plays Kick and rush with a 5' 8 striker in Vardy then look at the quality managers they have had.

Then what you have said seems not very sensible.
