Lots of people have been buying London used laptop here, no doubt but few have ever shared their experience.

May be they were more lucky than I was.

When I first saw the laptop I paid for, I was immediately depressed and regretted buying one from here.

The thing is, I asked the seller to meet with my Dad because he was in Lagos at the time. Though my Dad told me he knew nothing about computers and that I should wait, I was impatient and told him to just meet the seller since I had already pre-arranged everything.

I should have listened to him. The laptop I got was nothing to write home about. Almost all screws were missing and it felt like the laptop will fall apart any time I want to lift it.

Aside that, the keyboard got spoilt almost immediately and I had to buy a new one. Costing me #5,500 total. Currently the laptop is with a repairer again for the second time just a few days after the keyboard problem. It suddenly stopped charging and now the engineer told me the problem is the iC or something and I had to pay another 5.5k again.

The engineer actually told me the thing had been repaired a lot of times, with taped part and that some parts are even missing from it.

My only regret now is that I wish I had listened to my father and waited. In school here, students are selling better laptops at very cheap prices.

My advice, if you are buying a London used laptop, go and check it thoroughly before paying for it.

And if you are close to a university, go there and look for sellers, list times you will find laptops at almost half the price people are selling it here.

The mini laptop they are selling here for 38k, a friend bought his for 28k and it's working perfectly.

Also it's better you buy from individuals that import in small quantities because those that import in large quantities, most times will not test each products thoroughly before sending them out.

physically inspect anything you want to buy before paying, don't believe in things you see online.

What you bought isn't a London used laptop. It's a Nigerian used and over abused laptop going by your description.

Next time test it properly or send someone who knows about laptops to check it out for u.

You didn't do your home work well, the laptop you bought is not even London use, probably a second hand Nigerian used.

I wrote a post on what to check before buying a London use or any used laptop.

You could have search nairaland to get more information before you buy.

Things like this are bound to happen as long as its an electronic, even if you buy new one.

U had a problem and u believe the best place to make your complain is here?

You didnt buy from the street, you bought this laptop in an office and receipt was issued stating that u have warranty of 1month on hardwares and 3months on software, you would gone straight to the office to make your complains and get it resolved rather than what you are doing here.

I dont see any sense in this

AM just seeing this post

Hmmn, sorry about your bitter experience we all learn everyday, and so experience is part of life we have to acquire good or bad, buying a used laptop has it own advantage and disadvantages, unfortunately you bought a worn out, screw loosed laptop from a buyer who couldn't even pity the fact that you are even a student, buying a used laptop as a student from unknown seller its a 50/40 chances that you will get a honest buyer, that's not say there are no good or honest sellers, online or on nairaland.com before you buy a fairly used laptop ask question, look carefully at the laptop, meet the seller in is shop, not in one corner, look at the laptop thoroughly and carefully dont buy in a hurry, aside this precautions and checking any laptop with loosen screws at the bottom cover or front screen cover please dont buy, it has been loosed and its has been worked on, place your palm directly at the bottom of the laptop if its so hot, so hot like s pressing iron, please dont buy, if you notice its not displaying charging notification when you plugged the laptop to power with the laptop charger even if he gives you an assurance that it was minor issues, please and please dont buy, if you notice the battery discharge so quickly and it doesn't up back no matter how urgent you need a laptop, please dont buy, if you notice the CD/DVD ROM makes some kind of noise and it doesn't recognized CD/ROM within a split of a seconds or at least a minute please abeg dont buy, if you notice the screen fickle and shakes intermittently please dont buy, if you notice one of the keyboard letters is not typing even after pressing keyboard letters hard and you have type abcd.....to xzy on the keyboard and there are some keys that are not working no matter the assurance from the seller dont buy if you notice the touchpad that controls the mouse below the keyboard is misbehaving when the system loads to windows and the seller is saying it is a small issue please dont buy, if the operating system be it windows 7, 8, or the latest windows 10 takes a whole lots of time to load to the windows desktop pane, please and please dont buy its likely the laptop hardisk is corrupt if you hear strange beeping sound coming out from the laptop continuously please dont buy all these are the most likely issues you will have with a fairly used laptop lastly used a simple psychology to observed the seller if you are not fully convinced of the laptop please waka pass there's no harm in checking what you want to buy.

Lol. The koko is buying from a reliable source.

Even if you buy tear rubber now now, it does not mean in the next one month it won't give you problem.

To even think that we have a lot of refurbish laptop in the market being package as new in a brand new carton.

If you ever taken your new tear rubber laptop to a service center for repair base on the fact that it still have warranty and you're told the laptop is not from this region and they can't do anything about it?

Anything electronic can give you wahala at any time whether new or used.
Just buy from a reliable source, at least to give you that confidence that it is genuine
