all three new striker scored today

Courtney dike x3
INI umotong x2
uchenna kal x1

oparanozie go chop bench o

Same for Asisat Oshoala. Both players should operate from the bench to serve as a wake up call.

Soon, we kick off vs UMF Selfoss. Good to get something like 6-0.
How did you know that we will score six goals?

Oya tell me how many goals we will score against Canada so that I can place a bet.

Sorry I'm not a betting person, just a studious fan of our female teams. I think we will drag Canada beyond their expectations. I'll go for a 3-2 win.
BTW, Alaba Jonathan is a good goalie despite conceeding yesterday for the Icelandic team. I love this pix of how she commands her area. She's very good with this.

Well!!! I'll take your prediction from a patriotic view. this Canada team is very good, remembered they beat England some days back and there are in top ten in FIFA ranking, it will be very difficult for Nigeria to defeat them.

Any idea of why we lend the Icelandic team our goalkeeper.

They probably didnt have a keeper or the keeper got injured. Anyways, it is good for Alaba. Maybe they can sign her.

Canada may be good for England, but I think we're at par in terms of quality of team. England is not so good btw. Also, we've always beaten Canada everytime we meet.

our game against the Canadian sides is always an open game for the most clinical side to win... although we don't have two of our dangerous striker's upfront...
Uchenna Kanu, Courtney Dike should prove all doubters wrong

Ngozi Okobi’s form may probably be the most influential factor for Falcons in France. No doubt there are bigger and more flamboyant names. There is Oshoala, Franny, Oparanozie, even Rashidat Ajibade who is the toast of local journalists. There is Onome who has stayed in the team most and Chikwelu who captains, however, Okobi still remains the key.

These players are really good, nobody can deny Oshoala’s strength and speed, Oparanozie’s capacity to pinpoint targets with one shot, Ordega’s intelligience and placement or Ebi’s confidence but why Okobi?

Okobi is the real creative player in the team. It comes to a time when every plan has being read and checked and that’s why you need impulsive creators. They are really rare in football, probably because the capacity either does not grow by practice or by a rare type of practice. It seems if you have it, you have it. The last Falcons player I can remember with such competence is Perpetual Nkwocha who was bigger, stronger and to me, more professional. Okobi seems a happy person who will not necessarily push herself over the bridge.

However, she has the magic and her physical form will so much be important. Against SA last year, she was the person who gave Ordega the shocking pass out of the blues for Ordega to be brought down for a penalty. Or how she single handed routed the Swedish defence in 2015 to set up Ordega and Oshoala for the equalizers while also scoring. Against Cameroun in 2016, pressed to the ground, she manufactured a pass to Oparanozie for the winning goal.

Ihezuo tries a bit to play similarly and Ajibade also but clearly, either they have not reached her level or her system is not exactly like theirs. She can cut right into the middle of defenders, and dislodge them. Kgatlana is a bit similar but she predominantly depends more on speed than creativity.

Therefore at the world cup, for the average play according to instructions, we may not notice her impact and pray for this. However against a team when all instructions are gone and creativity is needed, then her form and presence becomes inevitable .

Okobi remain the most skillful player in the Superfalcons current details....Her football Sense is at another level.

Okobi is good, but she isnt being developed so much at her club. We do not really need to depend on a playmaker, and I am happy the coach isnt doing so. We can do very well down the flanks, and if we have good ball crossers, we can get good goals.
In the women's game, players like Okobi are rare, and the midfield control is what usually gives teams upper hand. I will be looking forward to Ayinde helping free up Okobi so she doesnt have to do much dirty work in the midfield.

I notice also and this is good to an extent. However what I am trying to point out is, we may and most likely will meet teams with very high technical competence who will understand and game plan and counter them. In this situation, Nigeria's game may simply depend on her to create some impossible chances and free up the strikers.

Actually most of the Nigerian strikers fall back into the game to jostle for the ball. Ordega does this, Oshoala does this. Oparanozie even falls back once in a while. Under pressure, when they fall back, the attack collapses as they do not go back. Only Okobi motivates them and creates opportunities for them

It is a disgrace that Peace Efih has not made the team yet. She was by miles our best player at the last U20. I honestly don't get her omission so far.

Bros U20 is very very different from senior level, especially world cup.

Congratulations to our girl Ihezuo for securing a good move to China. This coach has helped in that aspect.

Most of the team came straight from the U20s so I am shocked by your comment.

the last u20 didn't really give us many breakout player Ajibade and Anam imo were already part of
super falcons and even Ajibade has already scored hattrick for super falcons the goalkeeper is the only breakout star unlike the 2014 u20 that gave us so many breakout players

They should recall Peter Dedevdo, Edwin Okon to the junior national female teams.. That Bala Nkiyu is a disaster. ...

As far as Im concerned, I'll take dedevo for U20 permanently, and find an ex falcons star for U17.

Dedevdo is a very good coach but he's technical barren.. getting him a permanent deal for the under20 job will be very fantastic,,he will just need someone who can work with me in order to reverse his technical disability on his team.

Talk of a person without a vision. Nothing is absolute on earth. The coach can easily bench her. Besides, the coach has just included three players that can sit her on the bench. Oshoala has been wasteful latterly.

Good news for Superfalcons player's
Anam Imo join Swedish giant Rosengard FC on a 2years deal.
Chinwendu Veronica Ihezuo join Onome Ebi club Henan Huishang in China.....

Onome Ebi recently joined the Superfalcons in Spain while Ihezuo was Left out of the Squad to settle down at her new club.

For me, Edem Egan is the best. He assembled the 2010 falconets team and this team has remained the bulk of Super Falcons till date. What Edwin Okon does is simply pack his team with Rivers Angels players, neglecting other qualities. This works a bit, at least it ensures cohesion but because it does not encourage competition, in the long run Super Falcons are suffering it now.

But the 2010 team had players from quite a number of clubs. The team also maintained discipline , ball possession and control.

I always wonder why NFF simply ignored the man and never used him any more. He took the team to 2nd place in 2010. If he had retained the team to Falcons level till 2015 who knows what would have happenned. Cameroun retained thier coach and team from 2012 till 2015 and improved seriously

Thanks... Except for miracle and our normal "patriotism ",dis coach hasn't done anything tactically to dis team, forget d lead,we barely had 3 successful passes to each oda,no game control,no chances created, same problem dt was noticed during awcon still persists undecided.I would be marvelled if we surpass d group stage
