IF (and I posit this strictly as hypothesis) those born in Northern Cameroon prior to the 1963 plebiscite are NOT Nigerians by BIRTH then,

WHAT is the legal status of persons born IN (1) Lagos COLONY, (2) Northern Protectorate and (3) Southern Protectorate PRIOR to sovereignty of the geographical area designated as Nigeria in October 1 1960

Awolowo was not Nigerian
Azikiwe was not Nigerian
Balewa was not Nigerian
Buhari is not a Nigerian (dat one sef)

ONLY persons born after October 1 1960 are Nigerians

You need to go read the constitution and understand it before you come online.
It’s stated in there that all born within the territory called Nigeria before independence and those whose parents or grand parents are born within the same territory before independence are Nigerians. Then come those born After October 1st and for those born outside Nigeria after October 1st they must have a parent who is a Nigerian.

Now to the question at hand... I respect Nnamdi Kanu for this cause he made a very salient point that only the court can determine which the constitution didn’t envisage as at the time of its draft.

Let the court decides!!!

This constitution?

http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm#Chapter_3

The one that guarantees citizenship BY BIRTH to anyone who has at least one grandparent born in the geographical territory of Nigeria?

This implies that literally EVERYONE who themselves were born in Nigeria are doubly guaranteed citizenship by birth by virtue of having A PARENT OR GRAND PARENT who was also born in Nigeria.

It is common knowledge that Atiku's grandfather comes from Sokoto

This is a 2014 interview where he states this -

They are all Nigerians
The Article of Independence state that all those born in those regions you stated that made up Nigeria at Independence are Nigerians. Please read your Social studies if you are finding it difficult comprehending simple stuffs.
The issue is The part of the Cameroons that joined Nigeria in 1963. Atiku at Birth was a Cameroonian. This is a fact. After the plebiscite became a Nigerian.
The Question there is Can he contest for the presidency. Mind you the Keyword is "Nigerian by Birth "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President_of_Nigeria
https://www.legalnaija.com/2014/10/constitutional-requirements-for.html

The Question we need to ask is simple. Was Atiku Abubakar a Nigerian by birth?
