IrepChrist: Yes you will need to fill in your passport number during your Visa application as well as upload your passport bio-data page as a civil document on NVC website. If it has expired, it would be rejected when you upload. You also need your passport for your medicals so yeah, your passport is your number 1 document once you get contacted by NVC. It is your mode of identification. I would suggest you renew your it before NVC contacts you. |

Lindsy4real: You have to scan together and upload as a single document or scan separately and merge the file to form 1 single document, which you can now upload on the site. Remember to arrange in the right order. |

Hello guys, Well done for the good work you are doing this thread, I found it very interesting.  I'll like to know if there's any other packaged envelope that's given to an immigrant visa aside from the stamped passport. My dad's immigrant visa was granted last month and he was given only his passport. Now, my mum is saying he ought to be given an enveloped letter that he'll present to the immigration at the Poe. Please, how genuine is this and how do we go about it. He's due to travel to tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Please kindly treat as urgent oo |

I think sometimes they only give passport, because they are trying to change the procedure now but you can still check with dhl, @pretty16 what do you think |

kcluv2men: Depends on where you reside. Did mine in Abuja. Went to police headquarters, filled out the form and got my picture and fingerprints taken. Paid 10k. Went on a Monday, picked it up on wed. Ready within 3days. Interview is in 4 weeks, going for medicals next week. 1 Like |

Rayhanna: I hear they no longer issue travel packet, that your immigration information is sent directly to your POE or something. I believe they are going digital now, perhaps too many stories of lost packet or opened by mistake. Either ways, your dad is good to go |

kcluv2men: Lagos should be faster sef as that is the main place. Thanks alot, fingers crossed that it would go very well. No we didn't have any issue with NVC. We made sure to provide all documents they required using the checklist before we started the process. I made sure they were scanned properly and clearly too. If your scanned documents are not clear , you will get a rejection and have to resubmit which would then mean a delay in getting approval. I got a case complete within a week of submitting all applications and documents. Was the interview date that took about 4 weeks before it arrived. |

Kobezizou:Got my case complete on the 14th of March, Got my interview letter on the 17th of April. Interview is slated for may 28th, 5weeks to prepare and get medicals ready too. If you're going to do your medicals in Abuja, know that you have to schedule an appointment first and pay the fees before the appointment day. They do not accept walk in appointments unlike Lagos. |

kcluv2men: Other places you have resided ke? Do you live in Lagos? There is only one place you need to get the police certificate that is recognized by the embassy. That's on the Island beside Passport Office. The Street is Alagbon street. You can't miss it. It's by the passport office. 1 Like |
