What If Someone Couldn't Get A Job Related To His Field After Msc In Germany? by Goztino(m): 10:05pm On Mar 17, 2019
Good day ladies and gentlemen.
I am about to take a very big risk this year.
I am a graduate of Geology, from a poor family and managed to raise money to start a business last year.

Now I plan to sell everything I have and go for my MSc in Germany this year and intend selling all my goods and even borrow about 1.8million to Complete the needed money, over 4million needed for my studies

NOW MY CONCERN
According to German policy, you are given 18 months to get a job related to your course or return back to your country.
Because of the huge amount needed, returning to Nigeria after Msc is never an option because there are almost no jobs here.
So I ask, what other options can someone use to stay back legally in Germany after Msc?

I heard one can apply for permanent residency after living legally in Germany for 5yrs.
After MSc, can I apply for PhD and then during the course of my PhD program, I will complete 5years in Germany and probably apply for permanent residency even before finishing my PhD program?

I am the one sponsoring myself and really wanna think ahead.
I will appreciate those that studied in Germany to advise me appropriately

If you re going to study in german language it wont be a problem finding a job as soon you finish your studies.
In Germany ability to communicate in german is the very key factor to getting your desired job.Unless you would want to do a concurrent Deutch course with ur studies that way you can blend with the job market after studies.

As per getting your permanent resident card in germany , it goes with requirements, your years of studies does not count but when you start paying taxes. Normally you re require to produce 60 pay slips (5yrs working) and a language course certificate (A1 - B1).

The most guaranteed way to remain in Germany after your Masters is to commit a heinous crime so you can go to jail.

1. A few days to your depature, rape a woman (or any other crime that causes outrage).
2. Plead guilty.
3. Go to jail.

You'll spend the next 10 to 20 years in Germany.
Trust me its better than staying here in Nigeria.

Thank me later.

I don’t know but I just have this feelings that you are a full blown MAD MAN! Sorry bro.

Bother about learning how to speak "fluent" German...
If you can, that changes the dynamics of your sojourn in Germany.

Apply for courses related to IT, engineering etc. Learn Deutsch up to at least B2 while studying (most schs offer free language classes). Get good grades and try to do an internship before graduation as it will build your work experience. You can apply for PR after working for 2 years with your masters. But the language is key!

First I want to say kudos to you, cos you're thinking right.
yes Germany is a good country with opportunities,
But I Want to suggest to you, why don't you look at other European countries like Portugal or Poland, were tuition fee is cheap and getting permanent residence is more easier.
with 2.2m u can get good school in Portugal n the good part of it is that Portugal schools allows you to pay 10 instalments of your tuition, please try n make research, for Poland as you are working and studying, during summer break you can travel to US and work for 3month and know it that having a US stamp on your passport is like opening doors for you to be entering countries, am a fellow youth like you n hustling at the same time, so you can move with your 2.2m without borrowing additional 1.8m ok
make research on all I have said, bless up bro

A program of study in the I.T field is your best option if you plan to remain after study. And also you need to learn the language. Lastly your years of study isn't counted if you want to gain a permanent residence.

My Bsc course is Geology not IT. I don't think you can do Msc in IT courses with Bsc in Geology.
One of the courses I applied is Geomatics which also teaches Web development and software engineering in their course module though it's not tuition free like others

Poland is a poor country, same with Portugal.

I need a country rich and industralized with abundant jobs not a racist east European country

Oga you open mouth and called Poland and Portugal poor country, you amuse me, those countries are far better than Nigeria, bro try and research OK, don't go and join millions of people in Germany to struggle due to much hype been given to Germany, Poland is just few hours by train to berlin, if you really want to have dealings in Germany, I rest my case.

Don't even attempt Poland. Your chances of getting a visa despite your admission is 1%. They reject even study visa. Secondly, Poland is a poor country and even their citizens are many here in Germany. I have several Polish colleagues where I work in Berlin and they complained of low jobs in Poland. There is a GIS course at University of Potsdam (30 mins train ride from Berlin) that you may want to check out. You can make as much as 1000 euros monthly as a student here in Berlin.

Waooo, very explicit. Thanks for your contribution. What is the job prospect of GIS graduates?
Are they job opportunities for them in Germany after graduation?
I don't mind leaving Geology and going for GIS. I just need a profession that will have lots of opportunities after school

You can find a part time job in big cities without German language but after your graduation, you need German to go far in Germany.
Learning the language is not extremely difficult, it's possible to learn it

Bro, I think GIS, is the course for you, in the sense that you can easily integrate it with Geology. plus University of Potsdam which offers the course is close to Berlin (capital), meaning lot of opportunities. the only problem i see here is cost of living and language barrier. and i forgot to add, before you can get a really good job in Germany, you must be really good in what you do (Skillful). if you gonna study GIS, bro learn am wella because most employers prefer employing German citizens or EU nationals than other foreign students.

When i say skillful, i am not just talking about knowledge of GIS softwares, i am talking about your computer skills, (PROGRAMMING), that is one of the ways you can boost your chances in the GIS field over there. So if you have made up your mind to study GIS. Now way u still dey Naija use at least two months learn basic programming languages such HTML, CSS, PYTHON etc. you won't regret it trust me.

What do you mean you can work in the US for 3 months? Is this based on a Nigerian program with a Polish student visa or residence visa? I don’t think this information is correct. A Polish passport allows visit to US via the visa waiver program but not to work.

Clarifying with some proof will help people make the right decisions.
