Currently reading "brief history of killing" am really enjoying though am not done yet, bout to begin the third segment of the book.
How long before you figured out the identity of the "singer?"
took me sometime.

The first part.

The time line, the fact that The Singer is referred to as a popular reggae artiste and the Concert led me to conclude on the identity of the Singer.

The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, I think she’s a better short story writer. Meh.

PS: The site I used to get books from is misbehaving. Any suggestion on where to get good books? Preferably ePub, but I can always convert myself.

Thank you.

Mehn !!
I had no idea such concert even took place and thought it was all fiction till I started googling bout the event around the book.
I really enjoyed it,so many memorable characters.
I am looking forward to the writer's new fantasy work. It has been described as similar to game of thrones but in Africa. So am waiting for the whole series to finish before I start.

Currently reading "the orchestra of minorities"
Early stages yet, going well so far.

I’ve not heard of the Orchestra of Minorities before. Who’s the author?

I’m looking for interesting LGBT themed or Mystery/Suspense books

Can you send the Obioma book to my mail? I’m not sure you still have it so I’m going to PM you.

I’ve read Speak No Evil. Months ago. Not a bad read.

An Orchestra of Minorities by Chigozie Obioma.

1/4 way in and so far it is looking very good. I think this book might be better than The Fishermen. Let me hold off on giving full reviews till I am done reading the book, sha.

I had so much fun reading this book. Maybe because i have always been intrigued by 'personal gods'. Obioma did a brilliant job. Good reads smiley

For a first timer to come up with such a story and ends it in tragedy is a crowd puller indeed... an impressive feat exposing your budding talent.

I have decidedly chose to read more queer fictions this year than I have ever had to. Just finish reading, The Order Of Nature by Josh scheinert (paper back). it's a very important love story one which deserves to be felt.

I just finished reading Buried Under The Baobab Tree. It is based on the stories of girls abducted by Boko Haram. Nwaubani writes a fictional story from the point view of one girl. I can't sleep. I have sobbed uncontrollably. I felt rage, and this tighten around my chest. Nobody deserves the hell those young girls had to go through... Nobody. embarassed

I have read about the abducted Chibok girls , but never this up close, just headlines and numbers. This is an important story, one which reminds us to feel. I have never read a story so captivating with a powerful narrative. While I read, a girl out there in the forest is experiencing the same thing and living it as reality; I never felt so helpless. Nwaubani did a great job. I am wowed.

About to start Mister by E.L James.
So lukewarm about this novel as I don't like the review.
Anyway, fifty shades of grey has bad review but was a massive hit. Recently finished the last book of the fifty shades instalment.

I'm re-reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Hands down. Funny, interesting, easy to follow yet complex enough to tease the mind. It's beautiful.
I love Neil Gaiman. Not read this though.

Decided to give Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson a second chance. Almost done with Book One and what do you know, it's not as tedious as last time.

Just finished Jonathan Hadit’s The Righteous Mind. Awesome nonfiction book about psychology and morality.

I am very hesitant about starting another book. Books have become very distracting these days and I will be engaged with a very serious task that requires my full attention soon so no point buying distractions for myself before then.....

I hope I can keep my wits about me!

Just finished Highly Illogical Behaviour by John Corey Whaley. Yep, I couldn’t keep my word to not read anything new. . I’ll rate the book 2.3/5. I really shouldn’t read another YA book anytime soon.
