Christianity in Nigeria is a Scam
The Church and all it should stand for is a Scam
The Pastors are all selfish, greed driven scammers.
Your little screenshot is a Scam and an obvious attempt to assuage your conscience of the guilt you feel...your conscience? The churches conscience? Or your pastors?

I understand people do get agitated at matters like this and all kinds of theory flies around. I just want to set the record straight that there was an attempt by RCCG to help him but obviously there is more to it than meets the eye. Perhaps the accommodation issue triggers his suppressed depression. While we grief for him, we will appreciate if we don't make it harder by blaming the church who actually offered to help. He was one of us lively and easy going, he left RCCG for Shepherd House in Apo for a while and he just decided to return back to RCCG, then this happened.

This is my conversation yesterday with a pastor friend closer to him. Please help spread the real truth.

Meaningless post and defence..I didn't just realize how stupid and useless churches are.. especially your church..the one you are trying so hard to defend..

He has had this house problem for more than 2years(he said it on his suicide letter)has been writing the church for God knows how long..he wrote different branches and nothing was done about it..maybe he got disappointed with your church and decided to change church..thesame church he went to also failed him..
If you had wanted to help him before he went to another church, why did your church discontinue with the plan?does his going to church mean he had stopped serving God or his problem had ended?as soon as he died you went to have a stupid chat with your stupid pastor and came here to defend your church which is all you care about and not the dead guy.
You flew to Abuja and on your way you heard he had died..all the while he had the problem you didn't fly down nor send him money but now that he is dead you are telling us that you flew down and that there is more to his suicide than just his house rent..now you want to say it's spiritual..
Stupid pastors with their nonsense churches.

The guy was my neighbor(we share a fence) at Sunnyvale, I'm surprised at the way different lies are been spread all over the place. The guy was a chorister and a keyboardist at a redeem church and not a PASTOR, he wasn't paying rent because he was staying at a BQ in his pastor's house (at Sunnyvale). His boss (the pastor) is currently not in the country and I think the guy was doing something wrong ( he was sleeping with girls inside in the house, probably some members of the church, among other reasons) and the cleaner/house keeper who stays with him in the BQ knew about it and reported it to their boss (The Pastor). The Pastor not been comfortable with the development sack the guy and also asked him to leave the house. The guy got frustrated and hanged himself. May his soul rest in peace!

Lmao... Such a weakling.

As Christians (especially a music artiste) the devil is always after us all. He will always find a way to afflict us day and night. It is our duty to stand firm in Christ no matter the situation and circumstances.

Ordinary accommodation problem you don kill yourself?

Tim Godfrey slept under oshodi bridge for weeks when he first came to Lagos. Did he kill himself? Do you know how large that nigga is living today?

Apart from being a Christian, you are a bleeping man who is suppose to be able to face situations with your chest.

A Yoruba adage says "ibi toh ba le lati'n ba omo okurin" (You know a man during tough situations). I've seen cripples doing hard labor just to feed themselves yet they didn't go depressed due to their disability to the extent of taking their own lives.

Abeg it's time we stop blaming others for some people's misfortune and stupidity.

If I read the Bible well, then I'm sure he is currently in hell for taking his own life. Happy burning bruh... We'd all forget about you in few days. Even your family members will move on few months from now.

Stop comparing people.

That someone sleeps in a mansion does not mean he has more rest of mind that someone sleeping under the bridge.

How many challenges have you faced in your life that makes you feel like you in a better position to chide someone for not being man enough?

Pentecostal churches need to seriously address this prosperity gospel thing. It is exactly what killed this guy. When a pastors preaches that people should stop begging but put the little they have into kingdom investment this is what happens. It makes people to live fake life and isolates them from their brethren whom they are to draw strength from. Its not a church members fault if he cannot get Job after schooling thereby making him poor, connect the rich to the poor so that there can be no lack amongst you. That is exactly what the disciples did so why is the church of today more interested in mega structures and opulence This guy must have been troubled for a long time. so no spirit filled pastor or deacon was shown that this active church member was on his way to the grave Na wa o for naija christianity.

But how would you tell what is causing the smoke?

That smoke is coming from a room does not mean you should run around and say the room is burning. Smoke can be coming out for different reasons such as from a lantern, from hot palm-oil.

So, it is dangerous to rely on gossips.

I'm wondering if this is the best Adeboye and his cohorts can do because this conversation only succeeded in indicting them the more because now they've admitted knowledge of the guys predicament. Let's be practical here, the guy would never even think of taking his own life if there was a 60% chance that he'll get help from anyone. Even the fact that he went that far simply shows that he has exhausted every possible option. RCCG and other Pentecostal churches should bury their heads in shame!

The OP was even trying to exonerate his church by claiming that the guy left RCCG and returned shortly before this incident. Kai! Christians!!!!

So a man should commit suicide because of accommodation problems, or because he cannot keep his dick in his pants?

Which of us has never had accommodation problem? If guys here open their mouth to talk of their experiences, people go shout!

TEAR DROP ON A SUICIDE NOTE..A daily tonic by David Paul Adeleke

*Tear Drop On A Suicide Note*

Dearly Beloved,
Those last words you are writing, that last video you are recording, the last audio you are taping, who exactly are you expecting to read, watch or hear it? Who's tears actually worth your selfishness? I know your response would be "who give a fck about who hears it", or you might say "I don't care about who sees, hears or reads it first". You are damn right! Because it is only a looser who thinks that way. A looser you have called yourself that made you want to take the life you haven't given yourself.
Yes you are a looser! For thinking and allowing yourself to be overwhelmed by the situation of things that are meant to pass away like a blown chaff. You are a LOOSER!
Aren't you the same person who just said few seconds ago that you don't give a fck about who reads your Goddamn last notes? Ain't that supposed to tell you that life don't give a fck about who stays or leaves? Ain't that supposed to tell you that life isn't and wasn't a smooth ride right from the beginning?
Oh oh oh... Lolzzz, I see!!! Don't tell me you have just been fooled by alot of updates, uploads and pictures of stars and celebrities you see on news and social media, "Reginal Daniels posing with Benz and Porche of millions of Naira", "Davido buys a watch of 30million", and you begin to evaluate your life base on these? Lolzzz what a fool and a combine looser you are!
Have you ever sat and ask yourself, why do this people acquire anything, no matter how little or big and they bring it online? They cough, sneeze and they post it for you to see? WHY? They all want attention, they want to gain relevance, they want to remain being talked about, they want to escape depression, they want to stay happy, this is because their lives are surrounded by loads of shits too.
No life is without shits, no one is without ups and downs. That a 17year old boy drives a G wagon doesn't mean Dangote that drives his own at 45 is a failure. The boy can die at 28 and Dangote lives till 95.... Then who is more successful?
Get this stuck to you head... *If you want happiness, give it to people around you.* Do not ever think anyone is doing better than you. Do not ever think the debt you are into can never be paid. I remember alot of debt my family was once into, it almost gave my parents high blood pressure and every members of the family was in total shame. But I remember something my brother used to say then, he'll say "No body should give up, die, or go down on sickness just because of all these, because if you die and the situation changes, 'na u lose'". And guess what? All the debt was paid in a day.
A news had it yesterday (Wednesday 15th May, 2019), about a gospel singer who hung himself with his belt because of some personal issues, some say he couldn't pay his rent... But which ever way, let me ask you who is about to do same too now, was he born with those personal issues? Even if he was, does it mean he'll die with them?
Some ended their lives because of relationships and marital discontinuation. In this life that a man marries the love of his life and they both died on wedding day?
Some ended their own lives because of their undergraduate results or Jamb results. In this same world, that a dropout and no-school man is employing both graduates and post graduates?
And don't ever tell me that I don't understand your plight that's why I'm talking like this, I have been into alot of shits and mind you I will be into more tougher shits, because I want to be great. And the greater the heights the tougher, the messier, the hotter and colder, the rougher, the rockier, the uglier the shits. And you know what, I will wait, and I will fight it through.
I will leave you with this quote by a guy who fought all through without thinking of taking his own life just like you, he fought a good fight till he forgot to get married... He said, "The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." - Apostle Paul (I Cor. 10:13)
No one's worthy of reading and dropping their tears on your suicide notes, videos or audios... Stay back, put that note in your diary and read it to someone one day and tell them those shits you have been through.
Peace of God Be Upon You Now And Forever. ✌️- ©#davidspaul

Not matter the explanation given, church haters must find reasons to hate church.
A young choosing to hang himself because of rent evacuation speaks alot about his character and much less about what's going on in his life that only very close friends can tell if they even know.
Dying for not having money to pay, can't be the real reason.
Even if the church were slow in raising funds for as some ignorant church haters are quick to fly, how did you know when he reached out to the church for help?
If the church had not send help to him, aren't the people in his church that he could have reached for help whether loan or gift?
Once in my life, living in Lagos with my wife and 2 babies (a toddler and infant), my rents was due but I didn't have enough cash to pay, I didn't go to church where I was a busy youth leader before marriage.
I had made friends in church over those years, but not every friend in church is worth the trouble, I chose to visit an elder (in terms of his position in church, not an old man as such)who I had worked with and earned his trust when he was in our church.
I told him my plight/challenges and that I needed to raise a N100k to add to what I had for the due rents.(it was my first time to ask for such help from him).
He wrote a cheque for the full amount and gave it to me.
The promise I was that I would pay back in 3months because I had just got a job in Saudi Arabia at the time and awaiting my Visa from my employer.
This didn't materialise as my employer was denied Visa for me, hence I couldn't repair at the time I promised. By the time I had the money to pay 3yrs later when I reach him to pay back, he said he actually gave it to me as a gift from that moment he issued the cheque.
What I'm saying is that if you have been active in a church you ought to have made friends and from whom you can get support or help of any kind when in need before it becomes a church matter. That's what most church members do.
We're not aware if the late bro did any of these but got no support before asking the church even then, as we see from the above chat, the pastor had delegated someone to attend to find out how he can helped but he oughted to take his life....
There are question that needs to asked which we will all not have access even there are real answers.
Therefore, it's only fools that rush to throw stones at the church when they have no idea what happened and how it happened. sad
