They are crushed and extracted into moringa oil. It could be used for biodiesel or cosmetic or used directly on the skin.

Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate

@Emmaachile
just came across your thread. I'm about to buy momax3 seeds from DP in india to start moringa seed production. I recently started moringa leaf production. Did you buy from him?

I have been unable to verify his yield claims. I'll advise you take 2.5 tons/ha in year 1 with a pinch of salt. I will do trials share but managing my expectation.

Were you at the Moringa Summit in Abuja in April?

I am hoping to get a safe land as soon as possible or else may goto other states where its favourable. Its expected to last above 15 years in optimum production. This can be a game changer if all things go well.

Expected yields is as fast as 6 months and a tree is expected to produce twice a year. First year projected yields is about 2 tonnes per hectare.

A hectare is expected to host about 1660 trees
I wonder how many pods will be produced on a tree in six months.

Estimated to be about 300-500 pods with about 16-19 seeds per pod first year.

Hello bro,was there any special direction by the suppliers to ensure the projected yield?

I also like moringa and I'm very interested in this thread. Thanks for starting such an important and economically beneficial topic. I believe there are also others like me who have an interest in herbal medicine and all the other benefits of moringa. Hoping for more

Anyone interested in buying 200 to 500 seeds should quote this post as I want to do a pilot cultivation of the mormax3 against a local variety I have.

Update on one of the moringa plants at home beside a 25 litre Jerry can.
Very good thread bro!
Following at the moment. Seems a goldmine is hidden in moringa. Some northern guys keep begging for seedling from the one I have in the farm. Just planted for Broilers.

No. The ratio is about 1% of the diesel. That's like 1 litre of oil to produce about 100 litres of biodiesel.
Remember for bulk use, the price of oil should be around 4k-7k per litre cost since you are buying the seeds and using your machine to extract the oil. To get other components, should be less than the cost of oil.

Invariably, one litre of biodiesel should be around N150 max all things per equal. This can only happen if you use the right variety and foreign equipment to extract it.

The good side of the oil is that it can be used for so many things like soap making, lotion, cream, direct oil application on face/body.
There are some guys in Ghana who sell the 50ml oil at even $36 (>N11,000) in the international market. That's like a litre for $720 (>N220,000)
The biodiesel calculation seems off, who go buy 1 litre of biodiesel for 8k?

. Reason I said the calculation seems off and unrealistic! Can you tell me how 1 litre of oil will produce 100 litres of biodiesel?
