I agree, except freelancing or contract staffing is illegal in America, I don't see them winning as well.

My point is we can demand a lil better than what we are getting here only if we can make some sacrifices. Even if na 6 hours strike once in two weeks.I don't understand why y'all see that as a bad idea. These American uber drivers have been in court for 6 bleeping years. They didn't just shut up or QUIT.

Yes I agree. But this is Nigeria, how many go hear word ..people just do what they like.. I even stated that if uber wanted to be fair.. They should at least charge half the price local cabs charges for ride . If local cabs are charging 3k naira to get to point A to B ,uber or bolt should charge half the price.. That is fair enough for now.. But in a situation that nobody wants to work together as a team, what person go do .. As a business man I just adapt and keep pushing.. The powers are not in my hands, but in drivers collectively.. Since they refuse I can't come and kill myself.. The only thing I can do for them is make sure I handle all repairs both major or minor myself.. Am here to run a business not charity organization

I've sure I've never had to call you names or insult you, the fact that we think you can earn more than the stipends you earn doesn't make us foolish. Now you call me stupid? I'll won't bother calling you names, you need to just grow up

A competent/honest driver needed. He/ She should have good rating with Uber/Taxify. Also be ready to provide referees who can vouch for you.

Here you just thinking stupid, the laborer work does it come every day? Why not quit Uber and go do bricklayer.

And also 3k you're paid is in some site, from there you will pay transport and eat.

But with Uber I dont enter danfo. I drive luxury car with Ac, still eat fufu with egusi with 2 meat, after all this I still have 3k.
I have drink Fanta and bread and am tired of it, God will never take me back there, in Jesus name amen.

May God punish povertygrin

This why I encourage people to dump corolla and go for cars like a civic.. This same people that are buying corolla tokunbo up and down ,can easily switch to civic with a low or much lower landing cost.. I just don't want to spill out my secrets ,if only people can hear word,,, ditch the corolla, ditch the elantra.. But nope. How do they expect to recoup their money fast.. My plan down the line is to get enough cars ,good cars . And than reduce my weekly rental.. In the hopes that I will be able to attract good drivers .. For now my maintenance is low ,due to the fact that I do all my maintenance oil change, tires, mechanical stuff all myself.. All my drivers knows my mechanic, so if stuff breaks down they go to the mechanic directly .. But I think outside the box .. Either way it was nice chatting with you.. And may God bless all of our hustle

You probably should start giving tutorials.

Just make sure you get the technical part of the business right. GPS/map-navigation/billing, once you do that right you can kick uber/bolt out of Nigeria.

Well make we dey see .. Hopefully it changes for better.. I don't see any company taking over uber.. Uber is too big ,uber has the money.. Uber can decide to do 2% commission for as long as they want ..just to kill any competition.. So the changes that you talk about, I hope they got bigger guns than uber.. This is not a matter of God o. God has nothing to do with it . This is reality here.. The only God willing I see is if uber decides to leave Nigeria or the government decides to regulate them to be favorable to Nigeria.. Or Nigerian drivers strike for two months or more collectively...

There are guys that pay 35k and still do repairs without any complain, I have them as friends. I have over 2 years experience... I wont post my earnings because the haters will come after me. I currently drive a Corolla 2006 30k delivery. My issue with my current partner is his attitude(rude abusive and negligence to repairs)I have NEVER defaulted his payment...

Your confidence is admirable.

Good record...what he's saying is why asking to pay more (although you have a condition). Imagine the car spec is what you want, do you think it's wise that you are willing to pay the partner more than he's asking for?
In a business, it is said that one should minimize cost & maximize profit.

Trying to make an offer the partner won't refuse I guess.

You are looking at only one end of the equation. Riders have needs too. Taxify is cheaper than Uber but we still have riders chasing coupons all over or people abandoning trips midway when Lagos traffic wants to turn them into debtors.

There's a lot Uber is not willing to tackle. It cannot afford to keep bleeding money.

Didi chased it out of China.
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by maclatunji: 1:06am On May 23, 2019
Uber pulled in $11.3 billion in revenue in 2018, a 42 percent jump over the year before. And though its operating losses are still heavy—$3 billion in 2018—the company has slowed the bleeding, at least a bit, bringing operating losses down from $4.1 billion in 2017. Uber had 91 million active users at the end of 2018, 23 million more than a year earlier. Revenue growth, however, fell by half in 2018. This is due in part to the increasing might of Lyft, which is now snapping up users faster than its larger rival, but also because of tightening competition in meal delivery, where Uber’s big success story, Eats, is no longer growing as quickly.

What is the difference between them and graduates out their with no job . What about bank manager? Where is the personal growth there? How much are they making ... if you want any personal growth, start a business or grow a business.. Own something. .. To me that is personal growth..

You really have little idea when it comes to personal growth, so until one becomes an entrepreneur that's growth for you.
Let me enlighten you a bit Dru :

That branch manager u think gat no personal growth, do u know how long it took him to attain to that level? Well, I think you need to see this.

Executive trainee (ET)
Assistant banking officer (ABO)
Banking officer (BO)
Senior banking officer (SBO)
Assistant Manager (AM)
Deputy manager (DM)
Manager
Senior manager (SM)
Assistant general manager (AGM)
Deputy general manager (DGM)
General manager (GM)
Executive director (ED)
Managing Director (MD)
These are the thirteen step ladder to the top in the industry, there may be variations between banks on this order, but basically this difference can only be in nomenclatures. So if you want to be a Managing Director in a Nigerian bank, keep up the dream, someone once did and got there.

That branch manager prolly started as an ET, promotions kicked in till he got there and there are still more growths for him.

Remember, not everyone is wired to be an entrepreneur...

Perfect example of Rich dad and poor dad .. The poor dad is trained to do what the society has been programed .. Like go to school ,get a college education, than get a good job be lawyer, doctor ,engineer, teacher etc that is growth
But Rich Dad decide to think outside the box ,the rich dad wants more out of life than just do a 9 to 5 ... in colleges especially in the USA entrepreneurship is not push in classes like other subjects.. It is a big business, why should they programme you to be self sufficient.. Honestly as a business man I don't want people to learn about business.. If we all business men and women ,who is going to consume the goods and services? So it is better for my own narrative for people to just do 9 to 5.. Keep the people less woke and program them to do what their parents has been telling them at birth, like go to school, get a good college education, be a doctor, lawyer, nurse etc . And than look for a good office job.. One more thing and also depend on the government for your retirement etc .. Keep the people dumb .. You are very rite dru23 does not know anything about personal growth... if that is personal growth, I don't knock you guys out .. People should just do it .. But when my family becomes rich and wealthy.. And my kids are set for life money wise ,, please don't hate on my kids o ..because when their fathers were shouting personal growth up and down ,climbing up the ladder from IT manager to branch manager to manager of all branches.. I was busy thinking outside the box and created wealth for my family... example DJ Cuppy's dad Femi Odetola.. People hate on the girl so much because of the father's wealth .. I don't hate them at all . I always say to myself when the fathers of the haters, we're busy climbing the cooperate ladder up and down .. Mr Odetola was busy creating generational wealth.. He made it now ,now personal growth bank manager etc are now screaming for nothing...

Uber that spends billions of dollars on self driving cars , if Nigeria spends that type of money, it will shake the Nigeria economy.. You too go feel am ... well wish you the best
