I got this Toshiba laptop my bro gave me, he gave it to me sometime last month, I noticed the laptop battery always drains faster even when charging, it charges and still drain faster. I thought its a battery problem, not until I got another battery from jumia today. To my surprise it's still same complain. It charges and drain faster, most times I put it on without doing anything on it, it runs down within 15mins, even with the new battery.....NL Engineers should help me oo

Why do you think your brother gave you?

My advice for you is to buy a laptop powerbank instead of another battery..

It will serve you like 8 hours at least.

It cost like 35k.

That laptop is suffering from old age and will only bring you more grief if you fix it..

Let me try to understand what's happening to your laptop.

The battery indicator gives you plugin in charging,it charge but drain faster.

Which means the battery is giving your false charge, nothing is wrong with your battery just the charging section is faulty.

Communication of charging with SIO is bad ( clock, data and temperature)

Your battery gives you full charge (false) whereas it is not full but drain fast.

I'll advise you to see a laptop technician for repair.

The battery indicator shows charging when plug in on both the two battery I have, but when charging, it decreases in percentage instead of increasing. likewise when I unplug it, it drains faster too, like 1% drop every minutes
but if am charging, 1% drops every 2-3mins

Every other thing with the laptop is good, jez the battery issue

I would buy another laptop then speding like 35000 for powerbank for old laptop, sorry, but I do not see any points in that really. Please elaborate me if I am wrong a bit. How old is that laptop really ? I have 7 years old laptop and it works from battery just fine !

Go to device manager, under battery you will see battery complaint , uninstall it and restart your laptop.

If problem persist after this , then it's definitely a charging section issue.

Next time shut up,you are the most technologically ignorant person I have met on Nairaland, you don't know anything.
